Watching The Princess Diaries (2001) FOR THE FIRST TIME!! || PART 2! || Movie Reaction! 

Hey everyone make sure to watch part 1! Once again thanks for being patient, I know this was delayed a lot, definitely one of the longest amounts of timeI have spent on a reaction. But I am happy to do it! Also hope the muting and blurring wasn’t too much, wanted to include as much as I could, but as always let me know!

In case it wasn't clear, the Duke and his wife were trying to make Mia feel better about accidentally eating too much sorbet by doing it themselves. Apparently that's a ridiculously respectful thing for a royal to do.

The scene where Mia trips on the bleachers was an actual accident, Anne actually fell and that’s their genuine laughter in that moment 😁 they thought it was too good to not put it in the movie

God, every time I hear “mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. …the queen is coming.” It sends me every time lmao

the scene of the waiter saying "it always happens" to Mia breaking the glass is a reference to the movie "Pretty Woman" and the dinner scene where Julia Roberts' character has an accident with the escargots plate and the waiter (which is even played by the same actor as this waiter from The Princess Diaries) tells her that "it always happens"

Sandra Oh's character's reaction to the queen is how I would react to meeting Sandra Oh.

I love that at the end Mia accepts the crown because she knows with that power can improve things for people, and now she has the confidence in herself to do it.

You’ve simply got to watch the sequel - The Princess Diaries II: Royal Engagement! It’s arguably better than the first one in my opinion!

I can't get over how beautiful Anne Hathaway is

Mandy Moore is a national treasure. Playing Lana the mean girl in this to playing the sweet churchgoing Jamie in A Walk to Remember (only a year after making this movie!) if you haven’t seen that, I highly recommend. It shows her range and her chemistry with Shane West is magical! ✨

The blond girl is the voice of Rapunzel in Tangled, Mandy Moore. Also, the M&M’s on the pizza was CGI

The thing on her nose was a Biore strip. They were a way of getting rid of blackheads and acne. They were big for a while back in the 90s and early 2000s.

2000s romcoms are the best!!! I recommend watching She's The Man, starring Amanda Bynes, another teen queen from that era. She stars opposite Channing Tatum there in one of his earlier roles, right after Step Up (which I also recommend watching)!

It’s easy for adults to quickly dismiss movies like this but sometimes they’re really heartwarming. You always go into a movie with a positive attitude, it really helps reduce some of my natural cynicism by watching you

I don't know why, but I always start flat-out bawling during the scene where Mia's reading the letter from her dad. Every damn time...

Fun fact: The fall at minute 3:16 was not on the script, Anne really fell on the stairs and still rocked the scene Lilly's laugh and Joe's concern were authentic

When I was a kid, this was the first movie that I watched of Anne Hatheway and Julie Andrews. This movie was so wholesome and Hollywood doesn't make good movies like this anymore, so I'm really glad that you were able to react to this, Nick! I recommend you to watch "A Walk to Remember" and the final song of that movie is called "Miracles Happen" by Myra (total nostalgia for me)!

You should definitely react to the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" trilogy! I think you'd enjoy them a lot!

I like this movie for the same reasons. The thing is, you're never going to be fully ready to do anything you've never done before. You've just got to go for it. Also, I've found that the best things in life are often those that you really want to do, but are scared to do (because it intimidates you etc). When Mia announces herself as the princess, the scene is always touching

Thank you for watching this! 🥰 As much as I love this movie, the makeover part irritates me because a) her curls would have been so beautiful if they'd taught her how to properly care for them and b) she did not need makeup to be pretty, especially that much of it. There is nothing wrong with makeup, or straight hair, of course, but those should be things you choose if you personally want to do them, not because you think you need to change the way you look to fit in or appeal to someone else's standards of beauty 🤷 Also, the way Mia & Lily's friendship was in this one is so dysfunctional 😂😅 not that it's surprising, since most of us take a long time in life to learn how to be a good friend! The second movie is my personal favourite because I see a lot of character growth from the first one to the second one. Clarice treats Mia as family in it (as opposed to viewing her granddaughter as a means to acheiving a politcial agenda like in the first one) and their relationship is much better. Lily and Mia's friendship has matured and seems healthier, and Mia overall has more confidence in herself and her abilities. I don't put these things here as spoilers, but rather because many people in the comments seemed to want to start a war with each other about whether the first or second movie is better (which seems a pretty petty reason to start a war 😅) so I just wanted to give my take, in a way that hopefully explains respectfully why I do prefer the second one. The first one is great, too, just if I had to pick only one to rewatch, it would be the second one, for me, hands down 😊 Anyway, thanks again for the content! 🥰😊

I realy still like this movie or even love it. But as a child I found the scene with the car and the policemen funny, now it seems like a positive depiction of corruption to me and I´m not ok with this.

BTW you should really watch Pretty Woman. It's the same director and a few of the same actors

Even if I don't understand why Mrs Gupta is with the cheerleaders, I love when she says to them " Oh come on girls ! It's a ball not a snake ". What I love in this movie is the fact Joe and the gym teacher are the only ones who asks Mia to try instead of being perfect. If you like this movie, watch the number 2

I adore this movie! The second one is really good as well(in fact a lot of people like it better) but the first one for me is just such a happy feel good movie! I've watched it probably a thousand times at this point lol.

In the kissing scene of E.T., Erika Eleniak, who plays the young blonde girl, pops her foot. Interestingly, I didn’t notice this detail until I rewatched E.T. in 2001, shortly after seeing this movie.

Mandy Moore is a great actress, and of course, Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews are phenomenal as well.
