I'd check the rearend grease first and then check for wheel bearing problems. Seems like a decent price for a 4x4 machine. 👍👍

Good class. Check the parts breakdown from the driveshaft to the ring and pinion, I've seen the clearance get too large and make everything wiggle under power as it gets to the pinion. Look for a guy on you tube called Dee Ray [don't quote me on the spelling] from Arkansas that rebuilt the same rear end in his video a while back, In a 2 or 3 part series. The ring and pinion don't get marked with that yellow marker like in auto rears. As soon as I get a chance I'll look at vids that might help, I got a guy in Bing. that broke down the same machine and is selling the parts on CL for $300. Din't know him but one of my guys deals with him and might be able to get more info. Good project!

may need to pop it apart and asses whats going on that housing might be ok or maby a snap ring came loose who knows. im sure you'll get it going again

My First step on every old machine I work on like this, is cleaning it up and removing brocken or stuff falling appart like that rear fender and those stupid lights and PLS remove all that dirt and leaves on there before you even touch any mecanicak thing on there😅. Thats my way of working, i guesse we each have our methods🤷‍♂️

Is it possible that the crunch is coming from the brake drum and not the differential ? Man that one needs a bath ! Hahaha ! I haven’t tried the Alum-a-rod yet , fingers crossed ! The JB weld wouldn’t hold because of the presents of oil but I will flip the motor over ( emptied oil ) and dry it and try again ! I do have an acetylene torch that I will use !

This Honda won't be a daily rider, I would do the Mustie1 trick.

I believe d-ray smith has a fix video of the rear diff of one of these if you need it.

thats the only thing ive never rebuilt in a honda is the rear differental.. atleast you have a good motor..

Check to see if the brake shoes fell apart before messing with the rear diff. Might get lucky bud😊

Well used. I've heard rumours about people just filling them worn rear ends with grease

There simple ,it's straight forward you won't have any issues with it , put it back exactly as it comes out and your gold

You do your hotwire entirely too difficult. Just disconnect the key switch and you should get spark. The only thing is charging system isn't working

Its not the diff thats the problem its the little baring on the break side that is grinding the hole rear end id a pice of crap if you get a chance to find a 350d Forman rea end put it in it and the cdi box and stuff are all good and the transmission wont be blown its strong and i got a 1994 honda trx 300 4x4 all you had to do is make shure it had gas and it would run

I rebuilt mine it was pretty easy

Where is the CDI located on a Honda 125

Common problem is the right rear wheel bearing going and causes the brake shoes to rub and catch..check this before u go too crazy buying parts

Don’t know getting ready to do rear gears and brakes let ya know

Replace the bearings in brake drum and diff and replace the gears you’ll be better kff

Its a honda it wil run i had a 83 honda 200 the oil pump gave out whie out riding i dumped oil in the top end and un stuck the engine and drove it home
