i have the same palette as her or him (the watercolors are called st petersburg or nevskaya palitra) and it looks like shes using the colors hansa yellow, golden, cobalt, ultamarine, russian green, violet, and neutral tint (black).

+shygirlnow2011 Stretch bars are usually used for stretching canvas for oil or acrylic painting. Not needed for watercolor. Some people stretch (100 percent Cotton Rag) watercolor paper on high quality plywood or gatorboard.

Thank you:) do you have a favorite manufacturer? I tried to reproduce this on the Fabriano Artistico satin paper and it became dry too fast.

+Eddie Bruce Sorry for the wall of suggestions about to come but: Is your paper wet enough (or staying wet enough)? If it is drying out too quickly, it can leave your colors looking splotchy instead of blending nicely. You can go back in with a bigger wet brush to "pounce" out the edges by dabbing, it'll help to soften and blend the edges more. You can also keep a mister handy to re wet your painting but you can get unexpected(not necessarily bad) textures from doing that. Also, while your painting is wet and kinda drippy , you can try tapping it on its edges to get the water to flow down in different ways to get rid of brush strokes. One last suggestion is try wetting your paper then letting it sink in for a bit then re wetting it. It'll help it to keep moisture in longer and help with your blending. Also, layer! Go back in multiple times, it's called glazing, with layer on layer on layer of color, it'll help fill in weird areas. If you don' t like an area, you can re wet and dab it to lift the color (not all colors will lift to the same extent depending on if they are sedimentary pigments or not) and go back in to try again! If you still are having problems you should try an app on your phone called Art Amino. You can post photos of your work and ask questions about areas you are stuck on. I've only been on it a few days and it seems the community is fantastic for helping people out already. Good luck and keep trying!!

(s)he used watercolour paper and it dries quickly because you have to do many layers :)
