What a great Lady you are. I am sorry,what a great soul are you. Really I liked your techniques but I never knew it's possible I just started painting at the age of 63. I had this passion long before when I was in college. I use to draw the styles and gestures of my lecturers and professors in cartoons. Then I left for a mechanical engineering degree by my dad and handed over a chisel and hammer. Lol.after completing the long years in service as my father's wish again I came down to my old Passion. You are inspiring and so detailing that I didn't come across an artist like you. There a lot great artists in u tube.but the way you make the novices to understand the detailing no one takes pain. Great mam. God be with you

This technique is so awesome! I feel like even as a beginner i can vastly improve my paintings doing this. I’ve started working on birds recently and my latest attempt only has the background wash so this is perfect for me to practice. I’ve just been randomly browsing various watercolor videos so I’m happy I chose this one before I got started on the body! Thanks so much for your helpful instruction 😀

Im going to get cracking now and try out your examples...by the way you dont call it arches paper like its written and the Ozis say it, it is pronounced Arsh.....thank you for the much appreciated instruction!

Hi Robyn, Thank you very much! What a lovely place to live. I thought I did pronounce it Arshes ....it must be my accent and not saying it clear enough. I used to call it Arches but one day a few years ago I went into an art supply shop in Sydney and I the shop attendant was calling it Arshes. He told me that was how you pronounced it. So I've been trying to remember ever since 💙.

Excellent - I have seen many negative painting videos that demonstrate how to do it, but with no context. Yours is one of the best examples I've seen of where this technique is useful. Watercolour gives a beautiful subtle effect to those feathers that would be hard to achieve in any other medium. Well done, Louise and thank you for sharing.

This was my first time on this channel and already I have learned something very useful. Also, so nice to familiar birds. Most art channels seem to be from the northern hemisphere.
