Possible Fix - I was disappointed in the size of the reservoir. I believe I found an alternative. Get a big plastic cup and fill it with water. Leave off the reservoir and insert the intake into the cup. If your on fast your going to get low. Simply tilt the glass so the intake is still in the water. Tried it this morning and it worked like a charm. No refills or stopping.
Great review. I was going to drop a modest 55 euro on this model, but the build quality niggles you pointed out has given me pause for thought. Cheers.
My waterpik cordless flosser lasted me only a few months. The motor just stopped working even with proper recharging. My wife's waterpik corded flosser's nozzle locking mechanism broke in a few months of use also.
I CHARGED MY WATERPIC FOR 24 HOURS SO WHEN THE UNIT LOSES ITS CHARGE, WITH NO LIGHT INDICATORS CAN YOU PLEASE DO A LITTLE RESEARCH AND GIVE ME A ROUGH ESTIMATE AS TO HOW MANY HOURS I SHOULD CHARGE IT FOR THE BEST RESULTS AND OPTIMUM LONGEVITY ???? I AM SURE THIS IS VALUABLE INFORMATION TO ALL THOSE THAT HAVE BOUGHT OR ARE ABOUT TO BUY THIS CORDLESS WATERPIK !!! THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY !!!
Hi. I'm afraid we don't delve into battery tech and the science behind optimal charging times and usage etc. As a general rule we know it is advise to charge the battery to about 80ish percent and then use until it is low 20%ish before recharging. Constantly topping the battery up to 100% or only part charging or letting the battery go flat all the time is generally considered worse. But, due to the way this flosser is configured it is not possible. Whilst I can't say for sure it would also seem that even if you could track and monitor the battery more accurately, the amount of usable extra life gained is not that significant. But others may have data to suggest otherwise.
Thanks very much for the thorough review! How would you rate the preset pulsation setting? I'm likely going to buy a cordless water flosser for my parent. I was going to loan them my countertop model with a 1 - 10 speed dial, but they have a very small bathroom.
Pulsation setting? It has 2 speeds/pressure settings which I think are more than good enough. You don't get the same level of choice as a countertop, but for most this is perfectly fine.
We have a DiamondClean Smart vs 9900 Prestige video coming soon. We have a written post here: www.electricteeth.com/philips-sonicare-9900-prestige-vs-diamondclean-smart/ If you want us to compare the original DiamondClean (non smart version) we have no immediate plans to do this at the moment.
Sorry.I have not come across such models. Also when you put the strong setting, the battery depletes due to feedback loop probably. And since the batteries are the same type, why hide them. I think the models don't charge after some time because of the 2 min. shutoff feature or the overcharge shutoff feature malfunction. Therefore please make removable batteries.
This has a built-in rechargeable battery that you should be able to keep recharging and using over and over. if that battery has failed and you need to replace it, you will need to speak to Waterpik. We can't advise on the replacement process.
This is one of the few products I don't have a reading for when it comes to noise. I think it is around the 70 decibel mark based on use and other models. I apologise if this lack of information alone makes it a bad review. 🙁
the exposed charging port is the single reason why NOBODY should purchase this product. It rusted for me over time, and that means i had to chuck it in the bin. The flosser is also bulky to be put on the counter
