When Waylon, Johnny cash and Merle Haggard departed for hillbilly heaven that truly signified the end of true and genuine country music. Country and Western music if I may be so inappropriate. Willie is still around and a few others such as Gene Watson. But in reality, True country music died a long time ago. I'm sure glad I got see Hank Snow live in concert. The country music of my generation was dying out even way back then.
Okay, all you ''modern'' country lovers......here's REAL country music sung by a REAL man. Kudos to the songwriters of these tunes...Willie Nelson and Billy Joe Shaver.
Waylon was a lean, mean, twanging machine. His vocals and guitar tore it up and scattered it in in the wind. He was a one man explosion that blew Nashville off the map. Hearing him like this in the early 70's was sooo damn good. I will never forget him.
There will never be another voice by Waylon Jennings, his songs were about what he went through that was what true country was I remember my father getting his first 45 record I think was good-hearted woman my Dad loved Waylon I'm 62 years old and I've Loved Waylon's music all my life it's true country music, today's music country sucks I call the country is not country everything wants to turn to rap that's not what I grew up on that's not what I'm going to listen to I want songs that mean something not just sounds just spitting out f*** this and f*** that or kiss my ass or what rap is about I can't stand it hope I hadn't offended anybody
No one and I mean NO ONE, not Johnny, not Willie,, not even Elvis was more honest and uncompromising in what they felt their music should be. Waylon played what was in his head and if you liked it great if you didn't then he didn't give a damn either. The original Maverick
Red West Waylon had WAY more integrity than Elvis. Elvis survived on carisma Waylon on talent. You sir are the clown. Go listen to Suspisious Minds by both men then come back and tell me how right I am. If Buddy Holly survived and Jerry Lee Lewis wouldn't have screwed up Elvis wouldn't be so special.
3waymore You're living in a world of counterfactuals. Buddy Holly DID die, Jerry Lee Lewis is still around and hasn't done anything spectacular with his life. Waylon was awesome from his first album to his last, I wish he was more well known because he's a helluva lot better than Willie Nelson. But Elvis was deemed the artist of the 20th century and sold more albums than anyone else last time I checked. Elvis version of suspicious minds went to #1. Waylon's version is good, but it wasn't as well received and didn't chart as high. Ya receding hairline clown
❤❤ WAYLON ,WHAT MAN ,WHAT A SINGER ,All THESE SO CALLED NEW SINGER ‘S COULD LEARN ALOT FROM YOU!! GOD BLESS YOU FOR ALL THE JOY YOU BROUGHT TO ALL OF US !!!!❤❤
I could never find the right words to describe his voice. I was calling it hauntin. Seductive is much better. Love his voice. Waylon could sing anyone's songs but not everyone can sing his
This is what playing from the heart and honesty looks like we don't see too much of that anymore it's pretty sad thank you for the seventies thank you for albums thank you for people who played from the heart
You are so very correct about today's Shit on the radio,,,I noticed country music started to head in the shitter in 1981,,and as each year passed,,it just got worst and worst and yes its been in the shitter for decades!!! I had my radio on scan,,it stoped on 92.5 its sapossed to be country,,i was pointing out how awful it is due to no creativity musically or lyrically ,,it's boreing ,dull,,drab and sounds like "SHIT"!!!
@@jamespelkey8150 cant even come close i fuse to listen to it 99% of it you cant even under stand & like country rap thats a.fk.ing joke like shooter said they couldnt hit country in the ass with a baseball bat come on.
All the good ones are slowly dying off. No one to replace them. Especially with this so called new country that came out a few years ago. I can't stand it.
Waylon and willie. Lean and mean. So rock n roll. Pretty much gave birth to outlaw country. Waylon in the 70s was the Elvis of country music. Rip. Godbless dear sir.
Man! This man was amazing...as Glen Campbell, they had the greatest voices, played guitar like few ever did, or do. They were entertainers and song writers. Thank goodness we lived and saw them...so many great ones gone, nobody will ever replace them...Charly Pride, Bobby Bare, Patsy Kline, Eddy Arnold, Mighty Merle, etc. Death is a sad, sad thing.
Ahhh Walon, he looked kinda sad, ill and tired here, but the voice, the pickin', they're all there. Luv ya, Walon, still missed by us all. But he'll live on forever. One of a kind, one of the best.
Margaret Chaoran Wu he was in his hard partying stage. Not saying anything bad. Just the opposite really. He’s good enough to accomplish all of this and buzzing like a bumble bee.
It's not supposed to be that way you was supposed to know I love you R.P. but it don't matter anyway if I can't be there to console you. I love Waylon songs he's #1 . 2020
saw him at the Nugget in 74 before his "popularity" explosion. He was before his time and now his music lives on forever. Dam I miss his music......and so does Country!!
I love to hear him sing,Always have l use to have all his records 💙this song it's not suppose to be that way brings out his voice I love this song by him Noone else can sing it like him.
listening to this man.... realizing that without him, Johnny cash, Don Williams and so many others this country is slowly dying. Thank the good lord for Allan Jackson and will still keeping it on. So wish i could spend one day with the outlaws....just one day
This is maybe the best music video I've seen to date. One of the most original artists of his generation near his peak and in total command of his performance here. Thanks for posting.
Hey, such a great song. Written by Willie Nelson. But please lend an ear to an even better version : Steve Young - Renegade Picker. Thnx Hasse, Stockholm.
