I watched prime Rooney, its easy to forget how good he was and how he sacrificed for the team. Real talent. Can dribble, cross, shoot, defend, leader, playmaker, winner. The closest thing to a complete footballer!
I'm a Spurs fan,and I missed alot of football from 1999 to 2004 ! ( i live I n the U.S)..And he was the only one I wanted to see & he was the best ' All round player' in the world in 2004..He showed it the Euro's & totally dominating France!
I heard that Wayne has a new book coming out soon called "How to Make Everyone Else Look Average"... Powerful headers and bicycle kicks, precision spot kicks and volleys, immaculate ball control overall. Damn, thanks for that compilation.
Been waiting for a Wazza video for ages... I cannot speak highly enough of Wayne, what a special player he was! One of the best English player to ever play the game. There's nothing that Wayne cannot do on a football pitch. Your leadership and mentality are what's missing at Man United nowadays. You're one of my biggest football's inspiration and you'll forever be my favourite player. Thanks rom7ooo for answering my request for a Wayne's video man. You're the best!
Just realised he was more like Bobby Charlton reincarnated. Brilliant player (seriously special as a youngster). Really didn't excel for England after his first tournament, sadly... #legend
@@beejj6190 Yeah, but still he managed to break all time goal scoring for England. I feel like injuries played a great factor in Wayne’s development as a player. Also the main reason is he played at the highest level at the age of 17, and was already doing phenomenal things back then. He had speed, great explosiveness, good technique, never got tired of running, great vision, brilliant passing skills, great teamwork, defend like a mad dog, great header, and his shooting technique was versatile and deadly… Basically he has everything you could ask for man. I dont think there will be another Wazza.
The biggest compliment I can pay him is he's converted goals that you see great players actually miss on their compilations. A phenomenally clean, accurate and powerful striker of a ball... and that's before we bring in his technical level. Wow, just wow!
I see alot of people still mistake this. He wasn't a striker, he was the 10, he played best behind the 9 (Van Nisterooy, Berbatov, Van Persie) as a supporting striker/attacking midfielder. He was a great team player, in his prime acting as link man among forwards such as Ronaldo Ronaldo, Tevez, Berbatov, Van Nisterooy, Nani, Van Persie etc...
@@themanwithnothingtolose i dont remember which season it was, but i definitely recall Rooney playing as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation (if memory serves). And also in other instances if he'd been a bit more selfish, he definitely could've easily upped his numbers just like Ronaldo did in the 07-08 season despite not playing as a number 9.
@@themanwithnothingtoloseRooney was always CF🤡 he played CF the thing is he was all over the pitch pressing , tireless workhorse, good defensively unlike penaldo who just stood there and did nothing. Rooney was the most valuable player in 2007-2008 season along with Ju sing park
If you put stats aside which everyone focuses on nowadays ..rooney did all the things in football you dream about as a kid ..a goal at 16 ..hattrick on debut ..30 yard volleys ..overhead kick in the Derby..goals from half way line ..he did something that stood out and entertained every season
One of the few English players that was truly world class. From the age of 16 he played top flight football one of the most complete footballers you will ever see.
He's the best English striker of all time.. A top 9 turned midfielder number 10.. During his late days in Manchester united he dropped deep and prefer throwing long balls with his feets all over the pitch he's just so exceptional 👏 👌 Harry Kane obviously learnt very well from Rooney's clips
Rooney era muito craque, os dérbis de Manchester nunca mais foram os mesmos depois de sua saída. Lembro dele no FIFA, o ataque ele e Van Persie era só golaço.
I see alot of people still mistake this. He wasn't a striker, he was the 10. He played best behind or paired with the 9 (Van Nisterooy, Berbatov, Van Persie) as a supporting striker/attacking midfielder.
It’s funny. We took this for granted because we saw all the great strikers of that time scoring these goals.. Suarez, ibrahimovic, Rooney… but now that era of football is coming to an end with Messi and Ronaldo and now football seems boring in a way. There aren’t many players today like the ones 12 years ago. So we get to really see and appreciate how insane Rooney and others were.
I agree when people say Shearer and Owen is the best striker but Rooney is completely built different. He is not best english striker but he is the best attacker Prem as ever seen
@@gamalong3966 “It would be a dream to play with Rooney if Manchester United ever came to the point where they needed to sell him. I would personally go to the Barcelona president and ask that he be signed myself.” - Lionel Messi
