We are Matt and Robynn and we have been in the process of adopting through the Texas Foster Care system for over a year. We are so happy to announce we have been matched.
Here from Canada… also an adoptive-mom-to-be for a kiddo from foster care. It’s been a CRAZY season, since November, getting prepared… but a super exciting time. We cannot wait to get a match call, sometime within the next few months (our second little one, as a sibling to our biological son). CONGRATS!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
@@mattmanandrobynn Well, we had to do police clearances, financial disclosures, medicals, heaps of questionnaires (about your early life, attachments, traumas, your “wish list” in terms of what kinds of issues/cases you will or won’t be willing to consider, etc.). There was a 9 week online training course, a few in class sessions (car seat safety, infant care, trauma informed care, first aid/CPR, etc.). Our home study consists of 3 in-home assessments - a joint interview and safety check ✅, individual interviews ✅ and a final interview (coming up in early July). Then, you’re either approved or not … and the first placement call could come at any time.
Wow, this is very exciting. Thanks for sharing the process. Y'all will be such great parents with much love to give. Will continue praying that the Lord's hand is with you and your child as you move forward. God bless, and congratulations! ❤😊🎉
Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I am so excited for you. I totally understand if you don't post any Operation Christmas Child videos for a while. I have boxes in the process of getting packed. I believe you are being guided by the lord to focus more on adoption than the shoebox gifts.
🎊Congratulations! My husband and I are going through the same process. We've started our home study. Praying for you all! Question? Once you finished everything, how long has it been? And any additional information you may want to share. We're in AZ
So thrilled to hear this news!!!! Will be praying all goes smoothly! Cherish the difficult waiting time, because remembering how much you longed for this child will get you through tough parenting moments.☺️
@@mattmanandrobynn You’ve got the best help you could ever want, a strong faith in a God that cares about everything. And don’t worry about finishing all your boxes. Having your daughter help you pack is a great activity to do together! You can learn so much about her from her choices, and can talk to her about your values and how God cares about every child. 💝
I am so happy for y'all! I have been thinking about you and praying for your match! I will continue praying these final steps Go smoothly ❤️🙏 I look forward to hearing how it all goes and hope we can meet her but I know that might not be possible with the foster care system. I really don't know all the rules. But I'm very excited for y'all!
Congratulations 😊. Thank you so much for sharing this step in the process. I will continue to pray foe you guys. All this waiting has to me nerve racking. Love you guys and and so excited for the 3 of you.
Oh man, the waiting is the hardest part! But we know the time is short and we are trying to soak up all the sweet moments together before we officially become a family of 3. ❤️❤️❤️
Matt!! Robynn!! I'm so happy for you guys!! I'm sorry I can't be there for your shower, but hubby and I are going to see Hamilton that night. Love you both sooooo much! Matt, you sound so much like your dad in so many ways.❤❤❤❤
So happy for you both. I know the waiting is the hardest. It took me a little over a year to finalize all the things required for my two children that I adopted at the ages of 3yrs and 6yrs old in 2018. They are siblings an was so thankful to be able to keep them together. I understand the sadness of feeling you miss out on the normal pregnancy things, like a baby shower. My wonderful church decided to throw me an adoption shower an that truly blessed me and my family. The Lord provides indeed. My kids are my biggest joy in life. I enjoy sharing your families journey an will be praying for you all. 😊❤
I’ve been wondering about you guys and am so glad you gave us an update. So happy for this great news. My brother and I were both adopted and my nephew and his wife adopted their son. Yes, it’s quite a process but you and your beautiful girl will be blessings to each other. Continued prayers!
I bet your so happy and can’t wait for the days to come. I totally understand and don’t expect any news until family and friends know etc. I do realise it’s a minimum 6 months in your home before adoption etc. God has amazing plans for you 3 and all the animals.
I've been waiting and praying for this!! YOU'RE GETTING YOUR GIRL! 😍I'm so so so happy and excited for you guys!! And also PRAISE GOD! It sounds like God's hands is all over this process ❤️🙏🏽 I'll continue to pray everything goes well for all three of you. Also that MAMA necklace 🥹😍
I know this sounds weird, but make sure you keep a neutral laundry detergent on hand for foster care children to have their laundry done. I recommend Foca (its the bagged laundry detergent with the animal, a seal on it). It is the most neutral detergent available to reduce skin irritations.
Great tip!!! We already use a dry mix because I have skin irritations with laundry. Hopefully what we use will work but I will be ultra careful watching her skin because I know how that feels.
@@mattmanandrobynn Remember when you bought cloth pads for operation Christmas child? Cloth pads are a great option for her when she gets older. I know she is only 7 now, but in less than five years, she will be hitting those growth spurts and she will need cloth pads to keep her safe from those nasty chemicals from disposables. I say this, because I am a transgender man who used to live a woman and had discovered cloth pads to help me out when I needed them. Now, I recommend those to just about any parent and girl whose parent doesn't mind. So, thank you for putting up with this topic by me.
@@mattmanandrobynnI would have deserved it but it’s good to know my phone sent it to someone else’s video again. Maybe they needed to hear about adoption. I was just saying how incredible it is that you kept trying out of fifty families. It makes me wonder how many of them applied before preparing .
If she has reactive attachment disorder , don’t be scared . Having my own kid with it from time in foster care ik that love does win. Our family friend had a bad adoption experience with an rad kid but he was always disciplined instead of just being supervised which ultimately made him hurt the animals and get kicked out. Don’t let those stories scare you cause personally Ik that with love , patience and supervision it’s never too late to learn empathy
I’ll chill on the comments now. You ve worked with these kids so you know more than me and I shouldn’t be on my sons account anyway . It can be hard when you’re so excited for someone
