Last time I worked with points, was a 1964 GMC pickup. It had a straight six, one barrel carb, and a powerglide transmission. I used a matchbook to gap the points, also doubled the matchbook to gap the plugs, and it was ready to race.

What a treat! Not the same as if I was there with you..but as close as I'll ever get I'm sure. Fantastic!

Happy Sunday! I'm at the 7 minute point in the video. Not to be pessimistic but I am going to guess 14 kicks. Wow, I was SO wrong! I watched something else recently and the guy guessed two kicks and it took fourteen. I guess that stuck in my head.

Kicks are cycles of three. 1 wakes her up 2 gets everything where it should be 3 compression, fuel & spark Repeat... its a dripper triumph

Weems, outstanding work! Finally got that special piece of moto history back on the road where it truly belongs. I know it was a lot of work getting it done, I'm just amazed that the bike still existed. It was a good feeling seeing and hearing her kick over and she sounded so sweet! Congratulations on restoring another old gal and keeping the Triumph legacy rolling down the two lanes. Keep wrenching, riding, and stay safe Weems!

I wish modern Triumphs were that easy to adjust the gap. It’s about 6 hours of work to get to it on my Tiger! My guess is 5 kicks.

Thanks so much for this and the other Judge videos. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed them. The bike has turned out wonderfully. It's not easy to decide how much to do, when you've already decided to keep "patina". I've seen lots of folks use it as an excuse to leave stuff dangerous and/or dysfunctional. So you were right to remove the rust (it propagates) and straighten the footrests. If it *is* broke, yes, actually fix it. Like you did. I can't say I agree with the decision to scuff up the seat leather. That's just fake. The rest of the bike is actually wearing its functional history. Just as it should be. But, like I said, I love what you've done here overall. I'm looking forward to more. Just over more thing, I would have enjoyed seeing your mechanical work in normal speed. There's a rhythm and a beauty in that that's lost by having it race by. A Triumph fan from England.
