@Hooha888 Lets just start the train of actual logic. This was an official charity run. They were likely cleared to do what they did. This clearance likely comes from the careful selections of drivers and cars that were proven to be up to the task. Speed limits are set to the lowest common denominator (IE and 80 yr old in a shitbox), these drivers were either proven to be very competent or professionally trained to drive very quickly. The truth is they were just as safe as a granny going 60 and were allowed to go faster due to the fact this was a proven.

I'm not anti LE at all, enjoyed this video and have no problem with it. He does have a point though. Just because you are highly trained driver, or driving for charity or *any reason* it does not give you the right to break the law. That's the whole point of the law, nobody should be above it for any reason.

There's a local radio show host here in DFW that has a charity for police and firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty, helping the families of those who have served courageously for their communities. The Russ Martin Show listener's foundation. Its good to see another charity doing it right and quick.

Thank you for having our backs Ed. I’ve been in LE for over 12 years and have attended way to many funerals. Just the other day a Police Chief in a neighboring town was killed during a pursuit so me and my guys worked calls for that area so all officers in that agency could attend the funeral service. With the way the media is constantly making us out to be villains, it’s nice to see people like you stand with us and have our backs. For that I say thank you. And if you ever need anything in SE Ga just let me know.

As a law enforcement officer in Memphis, TN, I really appreciate you participating in that event. We have lost 5 officers in my department since I started 16 years ago. One of those officers and I went to the Academy together. What year was this event? I was just wondering if you came through Memphis during that event. You know, I just recently ran across one of your videos and was hooked, your story telling is phenomenal, I've had a few laughs and a few cringes, but this one so far has been the most heart felt. I love supercars, I drool over just about any of them though my dream car is far simpler than yours, I love the Ferrari 308 GTB, probably because I loved the show Magnum PI as a child, I know the aspect of ever owning one is a pipe dream but it is great to dream. I'm an honorably discharged Marine from back in '95 and the recent war on Law Enforcement has probably been one of the most aggravating things for me to watch so to run across this story of yours was just extremely beautiful. My oath to defend this country never stopped with my DD214 and every chance to assist an officer in need I've taken, it's nice to see someone with your abilities to do something for this cause, I hope it never stops.

Theres a radio DJ in Dallas named Russ Martin who has a fund for fallen police and firefighters who died in the line of duty called the Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation. Its a good cause and I hope others around the country are doing the same.

We really do forget how important our law enforcement officers are. They are out there every day to keep us all safe and secure, at their own risk. We hear the media bash them on a daily basis saying how they abuse their power, how they hurt people how they take advantage of the power they have. Its so much crap to hear and it makes me almost sick to my stomach. Thank you Ed for doing this small thing.

No. I will continue to do the fun cheap car races at slower speeds but going out to break 28:50 seems too daunting. I would love to get the CL back in fighting shape and take it across next year for the 5 year anniversary of the record.

What a great story, I have these past couple of weeks enjoying the VIN Wiki video series. While I myself prefer two wheels to four this is one of the better channels have come across. This was a great you were involved in collecting the patches to take to the A.G. of the United States. This past June 2018 officer Charles "Chucky" Irvine Jr. of the Milwaukee Police Department the son of a church member died in a crash trying to stop a man with a warrant who had a long rap sheet who had a 5 year old child and a gun in a Black Volkswagen Passat who didn't pull over. He was far too young to have his life cut so short.
