I feel like calling the swing copter useless is kind of a mute point why make an elaborate setup when you could just put a portal down now in 2.2 It's like saying the random trigger is useless because limbo figured it out already, it doesn't mean anything, having an easier way to do a function is always going to be better and the swing is no different
EXACTLY! Just imagine people saying that the UFO was useless because you could already replicate it with the cube and jump orbs. Also, I just hate it when people say something like "We're not used to the physics compared to 2.1's swing!!!" because they're always from a perspective of someone who has played levels with a gamemode that was never intended to exist in the first place. I guarantee if the swing made from the dual ball is as floaty as the one shown in the sneek peak, then if we were presented with the real swing copter having heavy physics people would have the exact same reaction. It's just pure bias. "Oh but why won't RobTop just leave the physics to be the same as the swing we're familiar with?" Because it wouldn't make any sense. When you compare the dual ball swing with other gamemodes, you'll realise just how absurdly heavy it feels. The physics of the official swing isn't any different from the UFO from what I've observed, and considering the amazing uses people have found for that gamemode, I highly doubt the swing would be any different. And not to mention, the current way we make swing copters in 2.1 have so many problems with them and are just broken as hell. Do we need the swing copter? Not really, but it's most certainly a welcome addition that can spice up the creating field without needing to put in as much unnecessary effort as before. Just like how the UFO made it so no one had to put up with the unpredictable nature of the cube physics while suspended by an ugly sea of jump orbs.
doesn't that mean every game mode except for ship is useless. blue orbs for wave, green orbs for swing, pink orbs for UFO, any orb for robot. soon spider orb for spider
I think the swing can function how it did in music sound’s badland level. it feels really fun, and it’s different from how people normally use it. It will maintain the issue of “people are already used to it,” but much less people are used to that version.

I mean it looks to me like the swing gamemode is a lot floatier than swing copter as we know it, so i’m thinking it will be very different, and could be used in different ways. It’s also a huge accessibility win for the gamemode to have its own portal, not requiring the know-how to use dual portals and blue orbs to make the old swing copter
Yeah, dual ball swing is straight up uncontrollable Also since the camera controls affect the borders, the dual ball swing cannot be setup in any level with camera controls
The dual ball swing F**KING SUCKS. I’m sorry bro but it is cancer to play, unlike the swing which is arguably one of the smoothest feeling game modes now.
Even though we've been using a form of swingcopter for so long. I feel like it's really nice to have a dedicated gamemode for it. Especially for the use of dual swingcopters, or asymmetrical duals with a swingcopter and something else.
Actually i played in the gdps 2.2, and the fisics aren't so dense and is not too floaty, its in the midle, like 0 50 and 100, its fun enjoyable and honestly, if we had confusion when the wave came out and we sufered to pass the wave sections of blast processing, so the swing/swing copter will be the same, sufering at first, but when the time passes, we will know the fisics and how to control it, it will be ez, i trained the swing a bit and it was fine to me to use it
i genuinely cant think of one feature in this update im not excited for, the new chests actually do make me excited like how much stuff are they gonna give us
The thing is, Most players don't play top demons nor are aware of the swingcopter being in levels already And like many have said, being able to trigger with one object instead of a tedious setup is always welcome
dude you dont need a solution im excited for the swing copter because itll be cool to have an official gamemode with its own icons for it and also we can use it in duals now too
I have a feeling the swing gamemode will be used less in easy levels. From experience, even gamemodes like the wave/ship were easier for me to learn than the swing copter. It might be different after the update comes out, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Well it’s worth considering it can go without dual and the gravity is slightly heavier and changes when mini, not to mention you can now do dual swingcopter now! Yea they might of had more experience, but I’m sure we can find new ways to make the OLD game mode interesting while using the new orbs and features too 😊
The community can make practically anything in geometry dash. A criticism that, the community made it first, isn’t a good reason to just not include it in the game. The community made so many great features that were later added.
in my opinion, i personally think the "people are already used to the dual ball swing copter physics," argument is kinda dumb because the community will just get used to the new swing copter.
Honestly. Swing copter looks like the biggest learning curve of a game mode. It looks hard to control and the gravity of it just isnt the same as the swing copter of 2.1

Personally, I disagree with the “we already have the dual ball swingcopter” a lot. That dual ball version of a swingcopter works more as a prototype or a concept for the actual mode, as it’s not only a little more complicated (albeit still somewhat simple) but also relies on another modes gravity. With the actual swingcopter game mode, we not only get a more authentic mode, but also likely different gravity and more customizability
makes it easier to place a swing copter and also with it being a gamemode you can check the free roam box so you can fly up and down indefinitly you couldnt with the old design
ill use the swing occasionally if i wanna make curvy gameplay like the ship feel easier in some places, so timing is more easier for curvy ship-esque parts
I dont have a problem with adding the swing, I have a problem with how it was implemented, because the new swingcopter feels absolutely fucking awful it hurts.
Tbh it should be lighter than the dual ball one. The reason to why dual ball swing isn't used in easier levels is cuz its physics suck. Like newer players simply cant adapt to it how it is now. Like my hardest is 8o and currently going for cata, and I only recently started to adapt to it. Before even seemingly free parts are were very hard for me.
Something that MANY level creators have done throughout GD history is to put a bunch of gravity-shifting portals on ships, an effect that Swing achieves without oversaturating the player or the level.
I think rob fixing the physics is a good thing, i mean, physics changing based on refresh rate seems unintentional And honesrly, it would make it better for 60fps players, and it would make the game more fair Sure people will have to get used to it, but once they are, it wont be that bad, higher refresh rates and lower latency still works just fine
I know I haven't watched the whole video, but this man makes very good content that entertains me and probably others to watch the whole video. I at least need to give this man some "reward" for his hard work making entertaining content! This is actually really interesting to think about: the swingcopter uses fire propulsion to move up and down, yet it functions as a change in gravity. This means if you enter a swingcopter portal with normal gravity, click once, and go back to cube, you will be upside-down. This is contradicting the fire propulsion, which is a similar situation to how the ship works, because fire only propels things up, and doesn’t flip gravity. 🤯
the official swingcopter gamemode feels way more fun and fair to play and it is way easier to make, also you can do stuff with it like dual, free fly mode, etc.
bro we dont need it we want it, just like we dont really NEED geometry dash for the secured future for survival and salvation of the homosepian species, it is vital to us to secure a stable food source and a constant and thriving strength to persevere throughout the entirety of what mother nature's dark side has to offer. Who said that Swing's physics should or already is like a two-ball replica of it? If you just watch the Dash sneak peak it is already clear that Swing physics is very different and not that hard if you give enough room for it. It is more straight compared to replica and does not require as much clicks to fly in line. The reason why this "game mode" wasn't popular in current easier levels is because two-ball replica sucks bc of it's physics

Nice video but… I kinda disagree. I’m not saying that swing is the most important feature in the game. However saying that it is completely useless is a huge stretch in my opinion. Firstly even tho swing can be recreated in the game right now robtops swing has the perk of being more efficient. Since it doesn’t require you to enter dual mode as the ball and all that. It will also add new skillsets for dual gameplay like double swing or swing plus another gamemode(which sounds REALLY hard). Although I do think we will be seeing it a lot in demon difficulty levels I also feel like easier gameplay can be done with it. Just my opinion tho Interesting video with good points!
i mean we don't know how it would feel, for all we know it could feel completely different to the already existing swingcopter. i think he should still add it for convenience sake though, y'know so we wont have to make that whole setup in our levels.
even though we can make it in 2.1, the swingcopter is still important to add. the way the swingcopter is made in 2.1 makes it impossible to work with the freefly feature. also, i think the swingcopter being added will be a similar situation to the wave being added; people will not know how to control it well at first, then will learn, and then will become more versatile. even now, its not impossible to make easy swingcopter gameplay.

It's a nice addition, adds for more variety and screen space, but yeah, it's not too too useful. Honestly, I just wish he added a different game mode or new portal instead, because it's just a little bit lame to have basically no new gamemode. As ridiculous as this would be, I think a triple mode could be viable, and that could add a lot to levels, even if it would be a real challenge to learn at first.
Honestly I never really tried making a swingcopter part and this gamemode will definitely be something good for me, but yeah from the first reason you pointed it will get very stale (unless if it's for asymetrical dual gameplay which I clearly lack skills to make that)
9:55 you can actually remake the swingcopter fairly well without dual ball shenanigans. it requires a touch trigger mechanism and multi-activate gravity portals (yes that is apparently a thing) the only example of a level using it that i can remember right now is Circus Dash by MCAASJ, but i guess that still does make the 2.2 swingcopter even more useless
That’s a really dumb point ngl, the dual ball version of the Swingcopter is more of a concept for the mode itself, the regular Swingcopter is not only more authentic and simple but more customizable, so ye point disagreed with
You can remake it easier by grouping a few green orbs in a spot and locking Player X and Y with a move trigger. Set duration. Make orbs invisible with alpha trigger. Force player into the gap with the orbs, and boom!
@@Luinor-L yeah thats featured as background footage at 10:15 but it completely ignores momentum when switching gravity (also it allows you to just use it as a ufo if you simply double click every time)
Since most player aren't used to the "fan made" swing copter (since it's 99% of the time in very hard levels) i don't think it's is a big deal, it will just make it more common, wich isn't bad at all.
