Welcome to the Martial Arts Journey RU-vid channel!
My name is Rokas. I'm a Lithuanian guy who trained Aikido for 14 years, 7 of them running a professional Aikido Dojo until eventually I realized that Aikido does not live up to what it promises.
Lead by this realization I decided to make a daring step to close my Aikido Dojo and move to Portland, Oregon for six months to start training MMA at the famous Straight Blast Gym Headquarters under head coach Matt Thornton.
After six months intensive training I had my first amateur MMA fight after which I moved back to Lithuania. During all of this time I am documenting my experience through my RU-vid channel called "Martial Arts Journey".
Now I am slowly setting up plans to continue training MMA under quality guidance and getting ready for my next MMA fight as I further document and share my journey and discoveries.

Losers Lose is a fun Baki fight ruleset, but Devil’s Sarashi from the Maximum Tournament in the fight between Chiharu Shiba and Iron Michael: the rope is tied to your leg and your opponent’s leg and you can use it to yank each other closer, trip each other, etc.

Beyond the physical side, I really have to say I'm impressed with the mental side of this. You have to split your focus between holding the cloth, throwing attacks, and of course protecting yourself. It's easier to split between attack and defend, since two-way focus splitting is not too hard for most people to do a somewhat okay job, especially when you can easily consolidate parts of the two tasks. But three way is where things get complicated, and how you try to bundle the cloth into offence or defence is going to greatly affect how you approach the ordeal.

@Aliraldd992
@Aliraldd992 10 месяцев назад
First I 'd like to say that the video is really fun...but the point of the handkerchief is not to wrench it out of the opponent hand, is to keep people from fleeing/dodging: You need to show that you are a man by eating what your opponent is throwing at you without backing down. Thats why in the end Oliva and Guevara stopped holding it altogether, they were not going to back down from the fight. Stealing the handkerchief from the opponent is disonoable

Fantastic drill!!! We once made something similar in karate sparring, tying the belts so the distance is very close (for karate sparring 😂), but still we had both hands and feet free... It's unbelievable crazy that people did it in actual duels with swords, or even worse, with pistols... Fun, amazing , and yet an exceptional challenge of distance management, reflexes, and coordination

If you’re thinking of doing more of this type of fighting, for fun or as a training tool (maybe a RU-vidr martial artist competition?), you should try a bandanna made from sturdier material. Silk is supposed to be stronger than cotton so it won’t rip in half as easily. It may be more slick though so a bit harder to hold onto. See if you can get other RU-vidrs to try this one. I think you could start a trend with this idea.
