#toyota #fj60 #landcruiser Really exited to be showing you the new daily and to show you the potential this classic has. Stay tuned for the future plans for this build.
I live in Australia and if you want parts for your fj 60 Australia would have lots parts for them we are the biggest buyer of Toyota LandCruisers I have had five my last one is a 79 Toyota LandCruisers
Really hoping to get it 100% road ready before doing anything cosmetic. so far it's been great. I need to fix an exhaust leak. hoping its the gasket and not the manifold...
Hey great looking truck man welcome to the club! I have a 87 fj60 stock 2f cold start I do choke 3/4 out and either press gas pedal 3-5 times or hold down for 5 sec then release and start. Sounds like you got a bit of an exhaust leak mine had that too when I got it I ended up Desmoging it and replacing the stock manifold with a header
Thank you for the advise… so far it’s a solid project. Doing important stuff 1st before cosmetic. Yes I think it’s the manifold. When it gets warm the noise goes away… I didn’t even think about doing a header instead of repairing the manifold. Does it get too load doing a header? Also not familiar on desmoging. Any forums on that or vid
Yea it does get pretty loud doing the header but i also have a loud muffler on there as well. I noticed a bit better mpg and power but nothing crazy. Yea there’s a ton of info online about doing the Desmog if you do decide to go that route and it’s legal where you are (Texas I’m guessing your good!) I had a shop do it it cost about 2 grand so pretty expensive way cheaper doing it yourself. Maybe go through the carburetor whenever you got the time and replace the fuel pump if you haven’t yet it’s super easy to get to on this truck it bolts right onto the spark plug side of the engine block down on the front near the bottom. Super cheap and easy part to have spares of too if you take it off-roading ✌️
@@Icecold185 so I needed up getting a timing cover leak and figured it was time to run threw the engine and give it a run down. Exhaust leak is fixed, majority of the bolts were lose. Looks like they did engine work on it and now everything is sealed 100%. No more leaks. But driving it I felt something off and well another leak! Looks like it’s the crank main seal. Time to get that fixed and hope not to get any more surprises. Will do a video on it when I’m done…
We just bought a fj80 for a mom daily! So I feel you. I personally sold a Mercedes for mine😮. Haha. The fj just looked more fun. So we’ll have fun and go from there. Right now we are in need of paint and little clean things. Also red.
Wow. That thing is pretty. Best car you own in my opinion. Excellent condition as well. Enjoy it! Don't ever sell it. You'll regret it. :P I have 1989 FJ62 btw.
PS - DON'T change the color. Freeborn Red is awesome! You have an exhaust leak, btw. 2F motor shouldn't be so loud. Very possible it's at the manifold. If so the Remflex gaskets are awesome!
unfortunately I sold it, I feel like the wasn't a car we would of kept so I dint want to start a big engine overhaul... till I sold it, the fj ran good. new owner did a LS swap
@@AntiStockCC I grew up with one and ended up rebuilding the engine. The Weber carb requires modifications that can't be reversed (ask how I know). I ended up doing tons of research on the engine and axles (also called a few places that restored them too). Let me know if you have any questions about anything.
