You can tell how ignorant the guys criticizing the Bucks are. The Buck's starting five was number 1 in net rating across the league, and, when Giannis, Dame, Khris, and Brook were on the floor, they were in the 95th percentile of defense, and that's with Griffen's awful schemes. They CAN defend. Please research. Brook IS still great, Khris is still great, and Gary Trent was at the top of the league in deflections, steals, etc and can contain the ball fairly well. His defensive weakness this last season, was imo mainly because of the offensive responsibility he had on the team and lack of effort because the Raptors were not a serious team, and it's hard to be motivated to guard at a high level if you don't think your team is championship cailber. Not to mention Delon Wright, Andre Jackson Jr, Chris Livingston, Aj Green, Tauran Prince, who can all guard to respectable levels if not well past that
@@ninoboom2453 The reason Indiana was the buck’s kryptonite was because of Milwaukee lacking the athleticism and speed to stay with guys and get back in transition. That same starting 5 that was so impressive on offense led to the exact problem they had against the pacers, with everybody except Giannis being way past their primes athletically. I see Boston exploiting that same weakness in a playoff series. It’s hard to have more faith in the bucks even with them adding more defense + athleticism off the bench when the whole basis of the main comment argument is the offensive capability of their starting 5
@@iPoeticProphet yeah he’d do better than those other guys probably, but if you’re playing him heavy minutes in the playoffs against the Jays I still think Boston is pretty happy
“he’s never done that” giannis locked up Jimmy when bucks swept the heat lol bryn Forbes outscored “playoff jimmy” when giannis got the assignment from bud. when jrue got put on jimmy he got fried.
jimmy also cooked Giannis in 2020 and 2023 when he guarded him stop it buddy! . Jimmy ALSO had multiple stops on giannis as well when he got switched on him in 20 and 23. Stop it !! Those boys BEEN guarding giannis well .
@troyal892 jimmy dropped 50 in a closeout game in the finals? Jimmy ain't even got 4 finals wins and be been there twice lmaoooo. Yall heat fans are strait clowns. Still mad about the sweep, still mad about the chip, still mad about Dame, and i know you salty about gtj 😂😂😂
If the Bucks are healthy...Just look up last year's game when they smoked the Celtics by 40 and they had to sub out the whole first team to save them from the embarrassment.
Boston was 2-2 against the Bucks this year. Two of those games were massive blowouts and 1 of those Boston wins was without Giannis. It's closer last year than people think.
Joel is 1000% correct! My biggest worry with them was depth. When Giannis went down, they lost to the fkn pacers for gods sake. They didn’t have enough especially when Dame went down too. Take a look at their new additions. U have Giannis, Dame, Middleton as your trio obviously. Lopez and Bobby Portis are still there. That’s 5 guys right there. This is where they are so much better than last year. U added Gary Trent who is a 15-18PPG scorer when getting starter minutes. HUGE PICKUP. And can give u something defensively especially over Malik Beasley. U also added Taurean Prince who’s a very solid 3&d bench piece who also shot 40% from 3 last year. U added Delon Wright who’s a perfect bench guard who fits the 3&d mold. Excellent defender and shot 37% from 3 last year. Remember these additions are mostly replacing Beasley, Crowder, and 37 year old PAT BEV who just signed with an Israeli team and WAS GETTING 35 MINUTES PER GAME IN THAT PACERS SERIES! That is nastyyyy work and any team who has Pat Bev being 3rd in minutes is 100% SET UP TO LOSE EVERY SINGLE PLAYOFF SERIES! So that’s 8 guys deep who are definitely enough to compete with Boston. Then we have to factor in Dame being so much better. Last year was the 1st time in his career he came in the season out of shape. He also dealt with a huge divorce with his wife that was clearly affecting him massively. U can laugh it off all u want but NBA players are human too; this guy just came off an efficient 32&7 season with Portland don’t forget that. Doc will have a training camp. Giannis was a 1st round exit so they’ll have a huge chip on their shoulder. These things absolutely matter when talking about internal growth as a team with a big new piece . This team definitely has the highest ceiling and best matchup to beat Boston when healthy. Everyone discussing the Knicks/76ers but Bucks had a very sneaky offseason and they might not be done. The Trent move is massive and def. moves me. We can’t underestimate a great 26 year old 3&d guy playing for a rebuilding 12th seeded Raptors team VS playing for a legit contender and alongside a top 2 player in the NBA while also playing with one of his besties in Dame. A similar example to this would be Malik Monk going to play with his BFF Fox when most of his years were in Charlotte. I predict Bucks get off to a hot start could finish 1st seed for the season. I also see them finished 2nd seed. 3rd seed. Heck even the 4th seed is highly likely when you consider Boston, 76ers adding PG, and Knicks adding Mikal + a healthy OG/Randle. But ultimately I see them getting the farthest out of the Bucks/Sixers/Knicks trio regardless of regular season record. Just my opinion
@@SlobberKnobbersthey beat the bucks with no arms and the Knicks w no legs I don’t wanna hear it. Nobody’s sleeping on the pacers. Healthy vs healthy, I know you wouldn’t pick IND to win either of those teams. I hope basketball gods set the postseason up so bucks can run it back
Yes but he needs his team to play good Giannis or anyone if your the best player on the team and if your playing at a mvp level you won’t get anywhere might get bounced 1st or second round because the League is to talented to win on your own and Celtics are by far gonna destroy the bucks. If the bucks beat the Celtics the bucks need luck and need the Celtics to do more wrong than bucks being better cause right now bucks aren’t even better than knicks even arguably 76ers
I don’t believe any of these guys watched Knicks games that weren’t nationally televised. Brunson scored 39 in 3 qtrs in Boston with no Mitch & no Randle. What are we talking about?
I'm sorry, but Celtics been clutch the number 1 seed and also there was 2 games left of the season, if you watch the game the Celtics look like they didn't want to be out there or get a stupid injury
The idea that Julius Randall is too hard for Boston to hold, but Giannis is not is so fn wild, it honestly makes those other guys look ignorant like they really just don’t know what they are saying and have an obvious bias
Judging Dame and his game playing with Bucks first year and with the commotions going with the coaches and his divorce, that's a lot put on him. It's his first year. Let him adjust just like Kyrie adjusted to Luka. When you've always been the star player of your team and suddenly you're playing with a super star, a championship caliber team, can't expect Dame to adjust asap without chemistry. On top of consistency injuries. Together, Dame, Giannis, & Khris only played 7 games together.
People shouldn't care about what it look like on paper. Its should be how it looks or has been looking matchup-wise. Matchup wise. The Buck have a better chance with the Celtics than the Knicks and 76ers.
I don't know who that Bucks fan is but I agree with him. People are sleeping on Bucks!!!! Delon, Prince and Gary Trent are more than enough to win on top of Dame, Khris, Giannis , Lopez and Bobby.
the only thing I disagree with the video was the high praise on randle, I don't think he's on the same level of Giannis and Tatum. I don't even think he's on the same level of Brown and Lillard.
S/O to the blue shirt, he actually has basketball knowledge… as for the dudes on the left and right.. y’all don’t know shhhhh acting like your opinion is the only right one lmao dame can carry, he’s done it for 11 years in Portland. Bucks & Celtics split the season series but both the Celtics dubs were only by 3 and one of those was without giannis. Celtics were literally struggling to guard dame without giannis. The bucks dubs vs the Celtics were both blowouts, shh wasn’t even close lmao the dude with the cap looks goofy af sitting there with absolutely no basketball knowledge
@@miib8simple , bucks played the Celtics 4 times (while trash according to Y'all ) lost by 1 possession twice and blew the Celtics out by 35 plus at halftime. Twice . And the cakewalk was through a hospital of an Eastern conference, only team who werent decimated by injuries is the pups Indiana, Celtics had 3/4 option hurt. Big deal.
the disrespect to dame is insane. I understand the Celtics defense is insane, but dame when matched up against Boston he's been dominant. playing alongside a superstar big is gonna help get more open looks a lot more
Giannis did not take all of his shots at the rim vs the Celtics in that series. He averaged 45% from the field because he took 4.5 3pt shots a game that series
Milwaukee blew out this same Boston team twice last season. Not beat them but blow them out while Milwaukee was playing at their worst. Let that sink in
@@miib8 no it's not see that what inexperience knowledge tells you. Only thing different is teams shorten their rotations. Teams compete hard in the season for playoff positioning.
@@miib8Boston has never been able to match up with Milwaukee unless Milwaukee have a injury to one of their stars. Otherwise Milwaukee been whipping Boston recklessly
@@theetruth8626stop being so delusional man the Hawks beat the Celtics twice without Trae young. The regular season doesn’t matter. The suns beat the wolves in the regular season. Just stop
On paper, I think the Bucks are the biggest competition for the Celtics in the east but basically everything would have to go right for them to actually beat the Celtics in a series. And you always have to remember that they’re coach is Doc Rivers 🤷♂️
@@bigmo3692 was that Milwaukee who they did that to in the finals. Milwaukee ain't Dallas silly. Giannis ain't Luka so what is u talking about? And as far Milwaukee defense. Wasn't that the same defense that blew Boston out twice. Not just defeated Boston but blew them out twice.
I agree with everything Joel explain. Last year the bucks team was a disaster. From the mid season coaching change, to dame’s unexpected inefficiency all season long, and Giannis unfortunate injuries. The bucks entering the season as a healthy unit, with better perimeter defenders that can perform at an elite level if dame can get his shooting efficiency back in form can IMMEDIATELY make them serious contenders to go against the Celtics. More than the Knicks if I’m being honest
So in a choatic year for the Bucks, they split with Boston with an average of +10 over those four games. Jaylen was out for one of the Celtics' loss and Giannis was out for one of the Bucks' loss. Pretty naiive to think that the Bucks wouldn't be a clear challenge and likely favorite against the Celtics just with having less chaos. Add in the improvements by additions and subtraction, and it becomes even more clear.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen brown have lost to the bucks once in the playoffs and that was that shitty 2019 team. I think the bucks need to prove they are still elite with all the key players being up in age now
Stop it Boston needed Milwaukee to be handicap to even have a chance to even compete with Milwaukee. That 2019 team was one of the best in the NBA. Milwaukee destroyed Boston badly at Milwaukee best. Milwaukee dam there beat Boston with Giannis by himself at Milwaukee worst. So what is you talking about
Boston can't guard Dame. Look at the 2nd game they played in Boston in the regular season. The game they played without Giannis where they threw their entire defense at Dame. Brown was pressing full court, Tatum, Holiday and White all took turns on him. He still gave them an efficient 32. That was your litmus test of how Boston will guard Dame. The problem Dame poses for them is he is a tough shot TAKER and maker. He is very comfortable taking tough shots, that's his bread and butter. Unlike any other guard in the East, he is a threat to shoot and make shots consistently as soon as he crosses half court. Lets also not forget this dude just averaged 31 on 61% TS in the playoffs on a bum Achilles as the first option. If Giannis is healthy and playing along with Dame and Middleton, then MKE is a REAL problem for Boston. Boston's two best players are duplicative in their style of play, it's a challenge to have both clicking at the same time. Even in winning the chip, it was either Tatum was killing, or Brown, never both at the same time. Milwaukee on the other hand, their big 3 has a natural synergy that IF they can put it all together will have teams at their mercy. Giannis is arguable the most dominant inside presence in the league. Middleton was one of the most efficient mid range scorers and we know the threat that Dame is outside. Brooke is one of the best stretch bigs in the league and Gary Trent was second only to Steph Curry on catch and shoot 3pt % past season. Their starting five has all three levels of scoring covered no matter what Boston takes away from them. The major caveat is if The Bucks can figure it out and if they can stay healthy. Defensively, they just need to be good enough, and they had shown even last season that they can play great defense (OKC game and Denver game come to mind). Their issue was they were never able to build on it and attain consistency. They don't have to be great all year or all series. They just need to be good enough mostly, and lock in when it matters most. Bucks starting 5 had the best net rating amongst all 5 man lineups that played substantial minutes last year. Better than any 5 man lineup Boston played regularly, better than Denver, Minnesota... best in the league. Not offensive rating, best NET rating. That's with Beasley. Swapping Beasley for Trent we can all agree is an improvement, so that starting 5 is taking no hits to their production. Milwaukee's issue was that their bench was horrid most of the year outside of Portis. They added Prince and Delon Wright to their bench, securing size and defensive versatility as they replace Crowder (who was a non factor on both ends) and Pat Bev (good energy, but was limited ). In short, they Bucks made seemingly marginal moves to address the most glaring weaknesses. Their starting 5 was already best in the league, so that didn't need big additions. Their bench was their real issue.
It was just a bad season for Milwaukee, but if everyone was healthy, they would’ve beaten the pacers, even though they did not have real chemistry, they had new players, new coaches They be better this upcoming season, they’ll contend for a championship if they stay somewhat healthy
To say Dame isn’t good past the first round and say Brunson is better or compare him to Brunson is crazy considering dame has been to a conference finals and Brunson hasn’t
im convinced joel doesnt watch his knicks team, they can still create offense with hart & divencenzo, then add bridges & a healthy randle?? what are we saying they can give boston the best work put of all teams
@@potatoad1 bro they have og, bridges, randle, divencenzo & hart. randle is a scorer while the other can make offense for themselves, last year them boys was hooping. knicks have personnel for bostons scorers, and can match their scoring.
@@ConnorBrew19 I agree I'm just going off his statement. I honestly believe neither of them are role players. To me, 3 players on the championship teams are more than just role players. Middleton was a key piece to that championship team and did more than any average role player.
If you think all the bucks have done this offseason has signed gary trent jr, you should do more research. They were actually locked in on defense towards the end of the year and did nothing but upgrade their bench with better defensive role players that can still hit 3s
Dude wearing the hat is going to be super surprised when the Bucks win the championship next season lol. A lot of people are going to be surprised by the Bucks.
Y’all really do forget who Giannis is man 😅 he has been injured last two playoff runs and last time he was healthy he almost single handedly beat Boston , people really do forget that after that second round loss , Giannis was unanimously considered the best player in the world even after the L , he absolutely dominated the Celtics without Middleton and his second option in Jrue shooting 35% from the field. He by himself moves the needle and makes the Bucks the biggest threat to the Celtics above the Knicks and the 76ers who don’t have that caliber of player imo
ppl forgetting Giannis took that number 1 rank Celtics defense to 7 without Middleton just saying and now he has dame he averaged 34 15 7 vs Boston in 2022
Nah, the Knicks are a very good team across the board, and if Brunson is torching the Bucks for +30 efficiently every game, then yall have a very good chance. That being said, yall don't have that transcendent superstar. If I posed Brunson and Giannis side-by-side of each other, and I was asked who do I believe will have bigger games more consistently in a series, it's gotta be Giannis. With the Knicks being so good up and down, don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but that being the case, I don't think Bridges will average much more than like 20 ppg. So great player, but I don't think he'll be scary.
Dude on the left is a straight up goofy “Brook Lopez is not good anymore”? He consistently has finished in the top 2 in blocks per game for the last 5 years straight AND almost won DPOY or at least top 5 in it for the last 5 years straight, then you go to the offensive end where a giant body 7ft’r is hitting logo 3s at a reliable clip… WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???
I am a die hard bucks fan and very biased but this idea that defense beats offense is so silly, if the bucks were to meet the Celtics in the playoffs they’re high powered offense would have a better chance to win in 7 then a high powered defense in New York. Let’s not forget Lopez is still a top 10 big man and good 3 shooter with some of the best rim protecting in the league and a perennial dpoy contender over the last 3 years. Offense will always beat defense in this league as of right now.
Bucks made Boston bench their starters.. Blew them out so bad that TV changed to a different game. Giannis didn’t play the whole 2nd half of the last game and they still smoked Boston. You also failed to mentioned Delon Wright as a perimeter defender in that series. Jrue is very well known as a playoff dropper offensively, especially by Milwaukee fans
All this yapping for no reason, if Porzingis is healthy and Celtics are healthy. No one in the EAST has a chance, not even close. Yes close games maybe but not a close series, Celtics defense is too much for 5-6 games and then they can score in spurts easily. It’s too much for a team to overcome quarter after quarter
Anybody that 6hinks 6he Bucks will be weak towards 6ye Celtics clearly didn't watch their recent Reugular season games. The Bucks blew the Celtics out twice in embarrassing fashion while the Celtics beat the Bucks twice by just 3 point. Not to mention we were much weaker on defense with Beasley Crowder Pat C. They got beat so bad that TNT turn it on to another game. Finally they let the world see the rest of that beat. down. Celtics stayed the same and the Bucks improved and yet this casuals continued to think the Bucks should worry about the Celtics. NOT! PUTS SOME RESPECT ON THE BUCKS NAME !
Giannis literally solod in his championship run?? And the Knicks only improved on the side of the ball they were already dominant in over the offseason. The Bucks got quality roleplayers that will stretch the floor and give you solid minutes on d which is all Giannis needs.
The Knicks are easy to read don’t overthink it , Brunson ascending , two great wing defenders , another all star in Randle and your bench played extended minutes last year so they will be tested and ready for those moments
@@malmazing24 look at what Bud done with Bobby Portis. Now look what Doc done for Bobby Portis. Bruh maybe y'all need to pay attention to what y'all saying
Gary Trent jr is a cone! Joel doesn’t watch raptor games he reads box scores. Trent Jr gambles on steals and misses far too often to be considered a good defender. 😂
Why do we keep disrespecting Julius Randle? He’s a legit 25ppg scorer. Scoring will not be our issue. Also, I’ve seen Brunson cook every player on the Celtics. I’m not worried.
Put some respect on Khris . Dude was out there with 2 injuries and considerably the best playoff player for the bucks. When he is on, he is balling. These guys talking like the bucks when healthy didnt blow out the celtics by 40 lol Hope yall realize Boston now is money strapped like the bucks this won't last long
You all have VALID pts but they forget we match up well with Boston this year. We blew them out twice in regular szn this year. But injuries happen. & Boston didn't play anybody easiest path to a ring this year. 😂
Basketball, is all about match ups, and it's a fact that the Bucks are a bad match up for the Celtics, Nuggets, Sixers... Bad matchups for the Bucks are fast small ball teams like the Pacers, Knicks etc. ✊🏀
They don’t know the big change Trent jr, Prince and Wright will bring. Also a full offseason and training camp for Doc and Lillard. Keep sleeping on the Bucks🦌🫡
