We bring back this epic episode in our traditional summer time reruns. We had a lot of fun making the Dolly Parton cake and will most likely give it a third try one day.
During our tour we did receive a lot of these cake mixes and just had to try them. We do not have this type in Norway so we had to decipher a lot.
During July we have a tradition of picking our favourite episode and add new commentary. Erik and the crew were in tears during this shoot. For those of you who missed it, we hope you will enjoy in and for all of you that didn't we hope it ages well.

As an American (former pastry chef),raised as a Southern Lady… this was such a HOOT! If there is anything that can bring our divided land together, then it is our love of Dolly. Just like our icon, you are using « cheap » ingredients put together in ways no chef would ever sanction to make something worth more than the sum of its’ parts. Thank you for giving me all of the laughs. I so appreciate you do the cooking in English with products you don't know about. Reminded me of teaching my kids to cook. By the way pudding is a powder in the US, and you don't taste the batter only because eggs in the USA mayhave the salmonella bacteria, everyone does anyway! If we don't have the cooking spray that has flour, we would put in flour and tap it all over the inside of the pan so it does not stick after baked. I loved this!

Loved watching this again😂 What I would have done was put banana pudding in the middle of the cake then used the can of frosting on the cake without adding the cream. still this episode is a treasured gem😂❤

This was good comedy. 😂 I could tell that it tasted good. Only issue was not whipping the cold cream to stiff peaks BEFORE adding the frosting. I prefer the fruit and cookies on the top only, like you did it TFS! ❤❤ I wonder if Dolly has seen this...😉

For some reason I missed this when it came out - but heard you say STOP sending American pudding mix, the post office can’t handle it. My aunt lived in Switzerland, and every time someone came over, they were requested to bring Duncan Hines cake mixes. I remember being kerflummoxed at the European measurements and ingredients.

Oh my word!! I watched this when you first released it and in watching it again, I am still lmao. For someone from the US who has made banana pudding from a mix, when you added the cup of milk... I was dying while laughing. I think you need to write to Dolly and tell her that the pudding mix should be added to the box so that you can make it properly. Yet, the video would not have been as entertaining, so nevermind. 😁😍
