Don’t forget to leave a little gap around the perimeter of the room so the wood will have room to expand and contract. Your baseboards will hide the gap. Your tiny house is coming along vert nicely!

Marina sanding, editing, cooking, designing, planning, tending to Illiya and children and pets...no wonder a little break helps renew strength, enthusiasm and spirit. Illiya recovering, measuring, installing floor (drilling for 600 screws!), tweaking boards to fit wavy wall, pipes/ plumbing, insulating and moisture barrier underlayment ... no wonder kitty breaks, real smiles and pride in your accomplishments! 25:08 : "It looks not bad. Almost flat" ? 😲 I think it looks amazing. Like an expensive hardwood floor! Very well done. When the floor is finished I would rent a floor sanding machine - big one - for a day and sand the entire floor to one smooth surface. And after that stain it with a nice warm colour wood stain.

Great job, you two, as usual! Illia, you need a contour gauge in the worst way! They're not expensive, and with all the work you still have to do on your old (but lovely) home, I'm sure you'll need one (or more) often .It will save you so much time trying to measure and mark those odd shapes (like along wiggly walls and around pipes).

That’s what baseboards were made for - so you don’t have to scribe the flooring to the walls as much. My husband was a flooring installer.

just a reminder to leave a quarter inch gap between the floor and the walls to allow for expansion and contraction of the wood

It's so nice that you got the floor-boards at a reduced cost. I really ❤ the floor, it looks amazing especially next to the brick 'accent wall'! Marina did a fine job of sanding them smooth and Illia cut them and placed them perfectly, even the small holes for cables were cut out just right.👌👍

The floor looks amazing. Like everything else about this project, "I don't know how to do this" and then you go ahead and do beautiful, precise work. One thing to consider for your next wood floor - lay it then rent a floor sander to do the whole floor at once. Faster and it takes care of any minor differences between boards.

You don't want the boards snug against the walls. You need to allow for expansion and contraction. Yo can add a base board along the wall to cover the expansion gaps.

Ik weet niet zoveel van vloeren af,maar wel weet ik dat je een houten vloer niet heel strak mag leggen. Hout heeft beweging nodig. Als de vloer bol gaat staan dan weet je zeker dat er spanning op het hout zit. Dan moet er aan alle kanten een halve centimeter af. De opening aan de kanten dek je af met een plint.

The 5cm incline in the floor will help with a steady entry or exit, depending on the direction.😂 The place is getting close to being ready. 👍

Im glad you are feeling better. The floor looks amazing, well done. Only suggestion for you, add a bigger joint along the wall for expansion. That last long board sits so snug against the wall, that it could cause the other boards to bow, if it has nowhere to go.
