To me it makes sense to freshen up the Dale engine, with the cost of a new engine verses what it cost to freshen one probably makes sense, never hurts to have a reliable backup. Plus if something happens to one of the big motors it doesn’t leave ya scrambling for a back up.

Fresh it up. Never know what will happen not can but will. Good to have one extra motor for when you blow one you’ll still have two cars fully ready. Like I said not if but when. It’s going to happen it’s racing.

As a guy that does do electrical cords and shit make sure to get the thick black jacket in the strain relief tight shouldnt ever move. If doesnt have a clamp to strain buy a new plug with one

I would get the ole dale freshend up. It has been a good ole motor for you. Unless you feel another clement or dickens is better for the long run. Dale has long legs for bug tracks.

Send it back to Randy or over to Jay and get it freshened up. It cost far less the freshen it up than to replace it. The SB2 is a solid piece

you can donate that old smoky engine to me, i'll put it in my old 99 suburban so i can get to the races faster. as the rat rod guys say, it's got lots of patina on it, i say it has lots of surface rust on it. love the series, really like it when joseph is hung out riding that rim and slinging dirt. always took to the top in my old days, more room to race up there, few dared in the old days.

I have a serious question for any motor head! My dad had a Blown Hemi speed boat. Before starting the motor it was set up to turn the motor till oil pressure was built up then start the motor. Why dont race cars do the same procedure?

They do, they just don’t consistently show it on camera.

They have shown that in very early videos. The primer is located a the right rear of the engine in the oil line. You prime the engine with an electric drill. Then you can fire it up.
