Just think if Coach O was coaching the team of 2012. Les Miles was a great coach, and I am thankful for everything he did, but he was very stubborn and would not change his ways.
no they only beat 4 top 10 teams, and 2 top 15 teams. LSU only has the best quarterback to ever play college football. There o-line is to shitty to consider one of the best to ever do it
Folks, this team beat FIVE Top 10 squads, SEVEN Top 25 teams and TEN teams with winning records. You honestly could make the argument this is the greatest team in CFB history other than 1995 Nebraska.
3 years ago I said this man was gonna bring us to the top I said it in the comments on the interview with Tim Brando you can just feel his passion & love for Lsu never doubted him and I truly believe this won’t be his last championship! Geaux Tigers!!!
Crazy Cajun Even though i’m an Alabama fan i love seeing you guys being able to celebrate another championship it’s been a long time coming, just needed the right coach
Rough Rider I mean we’re not expecting Lsu to get back to the cfp this year we’ve basically lost our whole team and coaching staff so if coach o some how gets to 10 wins that’s a W I’ll give it 2-3 years we’ll be back but until then we the king of college football
Hey Great Game Man! Clemson will be back Lawrence will be a JR also they have like the No 1 High School QB coming in!! LSU will be real good but gonna be tough next season have to start with a pretty decent experience QB in Brennon but we will see!!
I'm a huge LSU fan and I usually always pull for the SEC, but last years championship game I went with Clemson all the way. Huge respect for Clemson, Dabo is all class and his players reflect it. Beating that team proved beyond all doubt that LSU is for real.
To say a team is one of the great teams ever is always difficult because it's hard to compare generations - but it is very easy to say that this LSU team may have had the greatest season any team ever has. Beat 7 Top 10 teams, Heisman winner, Coach of the Year, swept the SEC, went 15-0, I don't think it's possible to achieve more in a season than this.
In this case it’s easy. There’s a difference between great teams and absolutely domination teams. Yes LSU had a tremendous offense, but did they beat everyone they played by multiple scores? No. Yes LSU played tough teams, but did they annihilate them on both offense and defense? No. Yes LSU won 15 games, but did they allow teams to get back into games? Yes multiple times. These reasons are why 2019 LSU is light years below teams like 1995 Nebraska, 1971 Nebraska, 1972 USC and 1991 Washington. Just some of the unbelievable stats from 1995 Nebraska: - First of all, back to back undefeated national champions (still has not been done since) - Won every game by 23 points or more - Never trailed for a single quarter ever in their entire season - Ranked #1 in total offense and #1 in total defense - Averaged 54 ppg - Beat #2, #4, @#6, and @#9 teams by a combined 246-83 - Never had their QB sacked - Rushed for 50TDs averaging 400 yards rush per game, averaged 7 yards per Cary, while only giving up 6 total rush TDs and averaging giving up 76 yards per game - Gave up only 6 punt returns for positive yards for a grand total of 12 yards all season
Sooner fan saying Congrats LSU! You guys were clearly the team to beat this past year. Joe Burrow is a MONSTER!! Coach O is a class act and you can tell the player admire him! Hopefully we'll meet again in the playoffs one day
Congratulations to LSU and Coach O. I’ve always been a Clemson fan and always will be. That being said, that was a heck of a game. The two best teams in college football playing each other. That’s what it’s all about.
@Steven Jackson Coach O lets the assistants coach and he recruits, talks to the media and the team, and that's been his role. Dabo does the same thing at Clemson for the most part
This man is the quality of coach LSU has needed. You can tell he genuinely loves our college. Nick Saban done great things during his time but he was obviously just there for the money.
USC made one of the biggest mistakes ever by letting Coach O go. Everything about him screams football. His has that intensity, focus, and respect that every good coach should have and every football program needs! Congrats LSU and Coach O!
What has impressed me about this team is while they are loaded w talent they played at a higher level than it seemed their talent was. Burrow played at a level and a gear I don’t believe he knew he had at this time last year. Every position played above because they played w such unity. This wasn’t just a talented team but a well oiled machine. To compare this team from this era to that team in that era is fun but futile. Bottom line is this team beat a lot of really good football teams and ran the gauntlet. Congrats LSU for a spectacular season. As an Alabama fan I enjoyed watching greatness take the field.
I became such a huge LSU fan after this season. Not just because of the win, but I've fallen in love with the coaches and players. The diversity a lot of these guys have faced is so incredibly humbling considering what they accomplished. Joe Burrow fan for life.
Joe burrow is an outstanding football player but a lot of people seem to forget that he also had the best o-line, best receiver and overall incredible receiving crew to work with
Coach almost seems like a little kid with his childish enthusiasm. He always has that grin on his face & seems like he knows the answer before you ask the question. I love that about him & that he really doesn't seem to take things too seriously. Well done & I think they will be a force to contend with this year & this is coming from an Alabama fan.
While many people realize that it's of the historic precedence, not many people realize that Ed Orgeron's coaching style made it a very fun experience for LSU's players.
Thank you. Hey, your team will be back next year. Plus, your schedule will be pretty easy, so hopefully the roster will be healthy. Thank you for a great game though 👍
Congrats to Coach O & to all the coaches. Congrats to the LSU TIGERS, Joe Burrow, we look forward to see what you do in the future in the NFL. GEAUX TIGERS
LSU just knocked off Clemson as best team in playoff era. 15-0 and they actually had to beat top teams in the regular season...Clemson cake walks every year into the playoffs
I actually pulled up the schedules and game scores on my computer for 1971 Nebraska, 1995 Nebraska, 2001 Miami, 2013 Florida State, 2018 Clemson and compared them alongside 2019 LSU. In terms of both opponent dominance AND schedule strength, 1995 Nebraska is probably the only team that probably would have been better (but it's VERY close). It's probably this order now: 1. 1995 Nebraska 2. 2019 LSU 3. 1971 Nebraska (they beat every other team in the top four, 3. Colorado and 4. Alabama both by more than three TDs.) 4. 2018 Clemson 5. 2001 Miami 6. 2013 Florida State
It’s crazy that last years Clemson team doesn’t also get talked about. I mean the regular season obviously was a breeze but they won in the playoffs very similarly. I believe the past 2 champs have been some of the strongest ever
I remember every team we faced saying "yeah, but LSU hasn't faced an offense/defense/team like us yet"... and I also remember every one of those teams leaving disappointed.
yup, I remember when we beat Florida, and people said, "they're not battle tested. wait til Auburn, they play lights out defense" and the media kept moving the bar everytime we beat a team from that point on!
People said LSU would get exposed again vs Alabama ("29-0" they kept saying over and over). Well, guess what: Alabama's defense was the one that got exposed. Injury-plagued or not, they were very undisciplined and struggled to stop Burrow AT ALL in that game.
That is why I have respect for LSU's defense more then other people because I watched the whole Auburn game and Auburn shut LSU completely down on offense but couldn't score themselves.
He wouldn't have done as good at Texas or USC because this is his dream job. Coach O's heart is with LSU and that's why everything worked the way it did
They played their best ball and deserves the title ..they really are the best team as long as Tua isn't healthy Alabama with tua at a 100 is the best team
I’d honestly be a lot more happy to be a Clemson fan right now because LSU just loss their qb and both coordinators. They put in everything they had and they got good results this year, but Clemson has been able to sustain that for years now.
This LSU team is the GREATEST team to ever play college football. They beat ALL top 4 teams in the country plus all the other top 10 teams.GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!
Jc Galmiche No they didn’t. What was the score of their game against Ohio State? See teams like 1971 Nebraska actually did beat #2, #3 and #4 and soundly by 114-41, and two of these were on the road.
@@brian2440 Are you comparing a team that ran the I formation and probably the triple option in 1971 to this team? They were good no doubt ,but they were named champs by the Ap and coaches polls.LSU won out in a playoff system. When I say the top 4 teams I beleive at the time we played them those teams were ranked in the top 4.
@@EulogyfortheAngels true also our offensive line was a beast we also lost some good seniors lsu doesnt know what success is they have only won 1 championship in the past 10 years idk why they saying that lsu is the best?
Zringe we’re talking single season. 2019-20 LSU had one of the best if not the best seasons of all time. Beat all 4 preseason top teams and 7 top 10 wins. Plenty of broken records and the biggest landslide in heisman history
They should be considered the greatest team ever. They really smashed every team they played with the exception of Texas and Bama. No other game FELT like the other team had a chance to win by the time the 4th quarter rolled around. Truly remarkable season by LSU! Congrats Coach O. We miss you at USC!
they are not the greatest team ever, they may have the greatest college quarterback ever. But their offensive line is to bad to be consider the best ever.
That’s what makes me most upset about the loss, that their undefeated season absolutely eclipses Clemson’s season last year. They did it too but they did it through even stiffer competition. But hey, they deserved it. Congratulations to them, they will be remembered for being one of the greatest teams ever that’s for sure.
If you think Clemson had stiffer competition last year, then you're an utter and complete moron. Like how do you think it's even close?? I swear to god, Clemson has the dumbest fan base I've ever seen. Worse than Bama and Florida combined.
@@FullmetalC5 I see, he didn't use pronoun continuation. Idk how yall are sure of that but if he didn't mean that then I appologize. On the other note, yes Clemson would have given us a better game last year but even that defense wouldn't hold lsu. This offense takes too much to stop and our defense could have held Trevor down last year as well.
People are getting carried away with this narrative. Their not a Pac 12 team. Even with a great qb they are still LSU that relies heavily on ball control and their defense. Their defense saved them in both the Auburn and Clemson games.
Zeafer Jones Their defense ranked #42 in the country and gave up 341 yards per game.... what are you talking about? The historically great teams typically talked about all had defenses that gave up less than 300 years, some even less than 200 yards, while maintaining 400+ yards gained on their part.
@@brian2440 My Oregon ducks had one of the best defenses in the country this year because they are changing into a bigger more physical team. However the way LSU's corners defended Clemson's WR is something Oregon could learn from. Oregon corners had some trouble with Wisconsin receivers so although statically Oregon is better than LSU they still have a little ways to go. Also as an Oregon fan let me just say when you have a high octane offense the defense does tend to relax which is what happened with LSU at times this year. Oregon's offense this year wasn't that great so they had to rely on their defense.
@@brian2440 That game was still a blow out so you made my point. Defenses lose focus when the offense scores 58 points. See I'm a Pac 12 fan yards mean nothing in the Pac 12. Oregon had like 400 yards in the national championship game loss to Auburn. Oregon also gave up 500 yards this year to Washington St in a game Oregon won by a field goal and that was a historical all time great Oregon defense.
