Jen, since you asked what the first mickey shaped snack was, I did a little bit of research (as in little I mean about an hour) and there wasn’t a first mickey shaped snack, because multiple restaurants opened at the same time when Disneyland opened. But the most popular Mickey shaped snack in 1955 was (drumroll please) The Mickey Waffle!!! I hope this answers your question!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
My whole family is big into baking and pretzels are the one thing we always struggle with! There’s just so many steps involved, it’s such a hassle. Usually they’re boiled in the baking soda water. Love your guys Disney snack vlogs!
Homemade pretzels are amazing! If you try them again, brush with some melted butter...so good! If you try the ice cream, maybe get an inexpensive Mickey cookie cutter!! Yours looks great ! You should make the LeCellier Canadian Beer Cheese Soup (recipe on Allears site). which is amazing an would go well with those pretzels or if you use the dough to make pretzel rolls! BTW, I am not sure how much baking soda you used but it should be about 1/4 cup in boiling water ...I usually lower the pretzels in with a slotted spoon or spatula that seals the dough right away and you should get shiny pretzels like in the park. Also you can use the same technique for bagels! Buon Appetit!
I made the AllEars LeCellier Cheddar Cheese Soup about a month ago. I followed the tips that were in the blog describing how make it since I've never tried to make anything that complex. My wife thought it came out perfect!! Follow this: land.allears.net/blogs/allearsteam/2017/12/anyone_can_cook_cheddar_cheese_1.html
JessicaLynnOriginal yeah my favorite ice cream is the slow churned varieties because they’re so soft, if they ever try again I’d suggest using Just grocery store brand
I also used pretzel flour, not sure if that made a difference. I made bagels with regular flour once, boiled it before baking and it didn't give them the shiny outside.
Magic Shell is amazing. I'm glad you guys share my love for it. I'm still super bummed they no longer have the turtle mascot on the bottle. Seriously. How can you have a product with "shell" in the name and not have a turtle mascot on the packaging?! Especially when there used to be one there! Who's idea was to get rid of it? I've seriously thought of e-mailing someone about that. I also really like turtles, so that's adding to my aggravation.
I hate marketing departments these days, they take cute and nice branding and kill it. Also they change packaging so much it's hard to find the item again at the grocery store because they redid the logo, and the other graphics.
You can stuff pretzels the same way dominoes does stuffed crust. Roll out the dough in a long thin strip. Add your choice of filling and roll up into a tube with the filling in the middle, seal the ends. Then finish as normal.... there u have a stuffed pretzel 😊
You know what really great? 😀How supportive Tim and Jenn are of one another! My husband would straight up blame me, and say you do it! Relationship goals! My husband needs to watch your channel
You guys are too cute. I have to admit I really have only watched your videos with Adam the woo. BUT you two are worth watching, very adorable. I'm happy for you livin the Disney dream!
Hey Tim and Jenn, this was such a fun video to watch! The thing that makes pretzels shiny is actually butter. An easier way to get more salt on them is to spray the top of the pretzel with water and then dip the top of your pretzel in a bowl/plate of salt. Can’t wait to see what you guys make next 😁
I love Tim's sunglasses tan, lol. Another home vlog/make your own Disney product. I always love your guys time lapse videos. Now those pretzels need some German beer cheese. And or jalapeno cream cheese.
Jenn You did a GREAT job, Experience is the best Way to Learn & Tim is always there for support. Tim is the *BEST* #MickeyPretzels #MickeyPremiumBars #Teamwork #TheTrackers
They both turned out so nice! Those Mickey Premium bars looked delicious! You guys should try making Mickey shaped rice krispies treats! Maybe little holiday ones close to Halloween?
I finally got to Disney this year. It was pouring rain the whole time! Worse yet Tim stayed home and made pretzels so I didn't get to see him filming ducks in the park. Still had a great time.
The Mickey Premium Bar has changed over the years it didn't used to be just a Mickey shaped face all covered in chocolate just the ears were covered in chocolate the rest was a vanilla ice cream with dots for the eyes
No while back that's the way the Mickey bars used to be and then they went to the I guess it's like a dove Premium Bar where it's completely covered in chocolate
Loved watching y’all cooking and the commentary Along with it! The baking soda bath gives it the hard outer crust, but I’ve only ever seen it done in boiling water with baking soda. I wouldn’t think that would do much at room temp.
Thank you Tim and Jen for sharing this! My wife and I live in winter haven, so we’re stuck inside too. Definitely going to try this out, wish us luck 👨🍳🤞
For pretzel hot dogs we usually roll the dough into a VERY thin strip and roll the dough around the hot dog. Boil them for 45 seconds into warm water and baking soda and bake them afterwards. While mid baking butter them up for a shinier finish.
Ooo try the Disney diner on you tube and also web page. The lady has amazing Disney recipes also some universal ones, my favourite is the cinnamon buns 😋
William and Kate learned to the pretzels in Heidelberg, Germany last year! Probably not Mickey Pretzels!!! You two are in good company!!! Thanks for sharing this video.
You guys are so tally cool - I only wish I could come hang out with you and do this "everyday stuff" that you make so much fun! And that I can find somebody to have a relationship with somebody like you guys have - you so obviously love, find joy in, and respect each other -which is so beautiful! Jenn - I think (as a guess) the "hard shell finish" on the pretzels are from an egg white brush prior to baking. BIG HUGS, guys!!
This was so great I really loved the out come of both the pretzels and premium bars ! Love the DIY videos 😍 I thought it was really funny when you guys were rolling the dough and trying to figure out how to shape it in to Mickey 😂
Oh and try buying chocolate baking chips for the coating. It might be a little tricky(you dont want your chocolate to break lol) but there are tons of easy microwave or stovetop recipes online. You will have to re freeze them after dipping but its worth it. The shape comes out premium. You guys are awesome!
All joking aside, as a baker Jen's wiggling dough technique is the best way to insure uniform size when stretching dough. A good example is if you watch people making hand pulled noodles.
Yeah several people have mentioned it already, but the boiling step for the pretzels. That brings the shine and crispiness... just be careful. Getting a steamed facial or hands not fun, but the outcome is worth it. Great job on those Disney DIYs!!!!!
In the Netherlands we sometimes use eggs to make it shiny. You just take a baking brush and brush a tiny layer of raw egg on you dough before you put the pretzel/cake/pie/etc in the oven.
