Take this for what it worth. I really like the simplicity of your gen 1 or gen 2 design, much simpler, just too many parts and tool work needed for the gen 3. Just weld a forward piece of angle to the front of the paper and wood holders to protect them from low hitting rounds. I like that you are innovating but just too many parts for me, plus there are more flat surfaces on the base of the new gen 3 for bullet splatter to come back at the shooter.
Are you not going to make the other ones anymore? Would these be fine to transport assembled? Really have no reason to need them to get small in the back of the truck and just seems like a bunch of extra work and parts to lose.
We did discontinue the Gen 2 Round Base. The Breakdown Base is fine to be transported assembled as long as the paper holders are not bending under weight. One thing we recommend is to loctite the nuts if you plan on keeping it assembled.
This new base is how much lighter? This is now easier and cheaper for you to manufacture, but I now need to buy all these extras to make it do the same things the gen 2 base already does, for more money. So these improvement helps you and does nothing for the customer. And who is going to break a base down after range trips? (maybe an extremely small portion of your customer base). Large and bulky rectangle that takes time to setup and break down verse a relatively flat round piece of steel that takes no time to setup or break down and is heavy and strong. I have bases that break down and they are all now sitting on a shelf because the TA round bases have no moving parts and are easy to transport and take a beating. The rounds are sold out on your website and the only thing available are these. Can I still get the old versions? Solutions in search of a problem.
The Breakdown base is better in every way than the Gen2. And it’s LESS money for our customers and more serviceable. It is actually far more complex to manufacture, not easier. We understand the love for the Gen 1 and 2. We do. But you should give this base a shot before hating on it. Leave it setup if you’d like too. @@TATargets So what does it now weigh compared to the old model? In 2023, a laser cutter and a press brake is not complex manufacturing. Much simpler and cheaper by volume than a welder/fabricator. The base product maybe less money, but with all the extras that seem to be necessary so the thing is sturdy enough not to blow over, it's over $200 and that's on sale. Without the sale its more like $240. How is that better?
@@TATargets 32 minute video explaining this new base bolts together. And now there are required extras to buy. I'd much rather pay $175 than to be nickel and dimed to over $210. If it ain't broke...
Lol i purchased my bases a week too early. These would have been SOOO much better as i transport all my gear to and from the range every class i teach.
