you need to put the exhaust pipe end in a tip with an open back end to introduce air again into the exhaust. like a gas burner. then you'll have REAL flames.
And I think glow plug instead of spark plug would be much simpler. Switch for glow plug and fuel pump to activate system and button for injector to instant fire starting :D
@@amigorodrigo7722 anything that will help. big thing is it needs air. then you'll combust even unspent fuel from the motor too. it'll look more like the flamethrower they want.
I remember when I watched this back then... It was epic! I hope that you are doing well and that everything is going alright... Big greetings from the Ortodox Brothers in Serbia 🇷🇸 🍻
@@the_kombinator AMG made all sorts of stuff for the 190's. My wife owned one for a few years; hers only had the body panel kit and a reprogrammed transmission. Engine was left stock. It looked great, and the aggressive transmission made it much more fun to drive, but the 190 clearly did not have the solid build quality of higher end models.

Needs to have fresh air fed in before the ignition point, just like with a carb it needs to have a proper air-fuel mix to sustain a burn, the exhaust gases from the engine contain mostly CO2 plus other compounds that inhibit the combustion process, which is why it kept blowing the flames out when revving... :)
Back in the day we used to put gas bottle in the boot and put spark plug in exhaust and a coil and a electric motet to drive a rotor arm it would spin and make spark using points. You can get big long flame it works well my mate still has his set up on a Ford cosworth and won some shows back in the late 1990s
I have seen this sort of thing before but without the fuel injector on cars that don't have catalytic converters. The unburned fuel is enough to create the flame. Sometimes there is a hole cut out too to allow oxygen in.
I think that installing the injector closer to the engine might have been a good help since the fuel would have more time to heat up and evaporate, making it much more flammable
Crazy as usual and that's not bad. Hey guys i think if you add some Oxygen before the spark plug you will get the flame you want or at least some compressed air. The Nox from the exhaust is choking the flames i believe. Thanks guys you have so much fun i love it shenanigans...
I have seen people do this with hot rods. Some use gasoline and some use propane. Propane is a little spooky. I have seen exhaust get red hot from using propane. Also they don't have any restrictions in the exhaust like a catalytic converters and or resonators.
I seen this video years ago wen it didn't have the English voice over & still use to love watching um...glad na days can lisson to what's happening on the video na days awsome stuff lads keep up the crazy car experiments from Notts modified car channel 😃
@Garage 54 you should relocate the fuel injector way back from a spark plug, as on my system before the last muffler and you should open spark gap a little or use 4 teeth spark plug
Did this to my first car, except I hooked a switch the my ignition coil so the car would no longer fire the mixture and it would go out the exaust. So I could either light it with a spark plug I had back there or I could flip the switch for the coil back of for a super loud backfire and flame. Also being hooked directly to the engines fuel system you could control the backfire sound and the size of the flame by adjusting how high you rev the engine before killing the switch and how much throttle you gave it when it was off.

They actually could have used a part of her engine for this video. They needed something like a flame tube which is like pilot light for the jet engine. It's just a tube with a flame that's protected from the airflow of the jet. The issue they have in this episode is the gas isn't in contact with the spark long enough to ignite.
@@James-hy8gu Sometimes you simply cant squeze your head with a welding mask somewhere and weld comfortably. Obviously welding with a mask is better in a long run, you can clearly see what you're doing. For tacking however you sometimes have to weld without mask and thats the only useful advice I can come up with based on my welding experience. Also try welding inside wheel arch with a welding mask, totally impossible...
I want the colored flames like in TFATF! I assume without movie trickery, you would use some sort of catalyst in the flame path? Watching him drive, it might be cool to have a flame spit on each shift.
You should have made a flame tube that's shielded from the wind. The issue they have in the video is the gas isn't in contact with the spark long enough to ignite plus they need to tune the gas flow.

Love this show because the guy making it doesn't turn it into his own personal little 5 seconds of Fame and shoot his mouth off about stupid stuff like most RU-vid videos are.. ..
a solution to the blow out problem is to make fake exhaust tips and reroute the actual exhaust out the side of the car. plumb the flame to the fake tips.
A question for ya ...can you figure out how to make turbo spool up sounds whith a no turbo car ?I was thinking that possibly a impella in exaughst hooked on to a bearing assembly inside the exhaust so nobody can see it and the higher output of exaughst the faster it would spin hopefully making turbo noise lol .if not possible one of those whistles that you can use like a trombone in exhaust as well the same way .I think it would make a great video..but love the vids and ya all .godbless and stay safe
