Chevrolet CEO after watching this: "Dear valued customers, we've just revolutionized your driving experience with our new polypropylene wheels. More cost-effective and lighter than ever"
In the US That white pipe is called Schedule 40, and it's a bit brittle. for a prop shaft, they would need the dark grey type, which is schedule 80 and far stronger.
Yeah I said that too, Polypropylene tubular car chassis! 👍 Then Sheets of the stuff to make the panels, these tubular things as all four wheels... The list is endless! Hahaha
PS I can't see the script on the bags or pipes on my crappy laptop... Maybe someone can confirm.. as if it makes any difference ha, ha but we need to know!
Steel Tubular car chassis? NOPE!!... Make a whole new PLASTIC Lada! - Polypropylene Plastic tubular frame, plastic sheets as Floor pan, body panels & windows, plastic seats, those tubes for all four wheels (as many car parts you can use plastic instead, just use the usual stuff for the mechanicals to drive though Hahaha 🤔😉👍 😎🇬🇧
Hey guys what about using the same material to make an exhaust or for radiator hose? Would be interesting to see how long it would last considering how long those wheels lasted!
I wonder if there might be a way to use the round surfaces of the pipe to be the tread of the tire? Or perhaps even go the other way and have the ends of the pipes forming the tread? It would certainly be a very different sort of radial!!!! Those would have better grip, but the key would be to secure the pipes to something solid. It would have to be on a monster scale--but who would be crazy enough to do THAT? Hmmmm. 🤔
Hey guys i love watching your videos ,love the content now i ha e a question coud you weld two strait 8 engines together and see if it would run that would be awesome Thanks guys
I used to make my bike wheels indestructible with pool noodles cutting them in half and placing them on the inside of the tyre outside of the innertube never a single puncture other idea is pure rubber tyres like with my BMX at 5 years old those tyres I literally cut stabbed etc they're probably still intact a little extra bounce however you could fix that with suspension if applied to a car obviously
hmmm there's potential about "Multi spoke" wheels. The fact that multiple tracks can adjust torsion independently of one another, allowing each track to find optimal grip. The pipe spokes are flexible allowing this effect. This is used already in springy recovery ropes - they being springy is magic of how they work better than just chain.
Too bad u are too afraid of gain up some driving speed in many of ur experiments. U mostly keep speed within 10-30 km/h. That makes ur testings a bit boring. I´ll still be watching ur channel thou ;)
I wondewr how this stuff would do as a roll cage? Just don't try it with people in there. Drive shafts? Maybe trailing arms, gear lever, steering wheel? Exhaust? :)
Do the same thing you did with 3 in the hub, except somehow wrap the outside of the pipe with carbon fiber, and fill the inside with some kind of really durable material like flex seal, or maybe molten rubber? Then top it all off by spraying multiple layers of rhino lining material and/or flex seal on the outside, possibly some metal wire wrapped around the inside as a "radial" You can get some real life out of those pipes!
I'm not sure that's polypropylene, unless it's different in Russia those are poly vinyl chloride pieces. They could mean the same thing too, I'm no scientist unless you're talking the science of sex 😂
When your Lada comes witha pretty good lathe to make its tires round again :) Should have tried to drift with them ( like those japanese kei car drifters do with their palstic rims around the tires for less cheap grip).
i enjoy these videos as they try new things pushing the envelope and being different . id like to see spring pistons maybe double the springs and weld then better lol . just to see how it would work
