We finally made it to York! I'm so glad to be back filming #booktube videos and this time in a little Victorian terrace ❤️ I hope you like my new bookshelves as much as I do!

Where do you live? I live in York with my husband and two cats. I used to live in London and still visit frequently 🇬🇧
What do you do for work? I work in the book publishing industry as a Head of Marketing
What did you study? I studied English Literature at York St. John University (BA) and University of York (MA)
Who are your favourite authors? I love Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, Elizabeth Gaskell, E.M. Forster, Virginia Woolf and Agatha Christie to name a few!
Favourite eras of history? I'm obsessed with the Tudors, Georgians and Victorians! I also love reading about the home front during WW2

I can still remember how I felt after moving to York from London just over 25 years ago - still doesn't feel that long to be honest - and the actual thrill of being able to walk from my house into the City centre. Hope you will both be very happy back in York.

That is so nice that you found a place you really love! I totally understand some of the little day to day things such as the sound of the rain. I lived in an apartment with very thick hurricane proof windows and I couldn’t hear the rain at all, it was very sad. York is one of the places I want to visit when I go to the UK again. Please share a bit of the city and some of your favorite places. :)

My kitty loves to play on the stairs, stairs are very good exercise for cats. My kitty when she is scared or nervous loved to go under a blanket tent, we throw a blanket on the couch like a tent where she can go inside to feel safe & sleep.

Templeton pink! Farrow and Ball, but try the b and q colour match version for a more sensible price. It's a gentle ,soft, creamy pink. A colour that is so easy to live with. Definitely NOT Barbie pink ! Lovely update. My first home was a Victorian 2 bed house that had been lived in by an elderly man who had been born in the main bedroom, and his mother had lived there for years previously. It's lovely to feel part of the "chain" of a house's existence. The house will look after you and keep you safe. Good luck!

I love that you’re researching the history of your house and I’d like to hear more about it. One of my favourite TV series is the BBC’s “A House Through Time” in which David Olusoga tells the stories of individual houses and their owners over a period of time. I'm happy that you're settling in so well, and that the air smells of chocolate.😀🍫

I love seeing people moving out from cities like London. I myself recognised a little while ago that capitals aren't the best places, they lure us with jobs and then squeeze all the juices. I live in Berlin, but am planning to move to a smaller quieter city, Brandenburg an der Havel. Wish you all the best in your new place!

Congratulations on the move. I know exactly how you felt when describing the moving process. We bought our house last year but it took a year of bank negotiating, changing banks, multiple houses falling through, bidding wars that went way out of our budget etc..before we finally bought the home we are in. But it took weeks before I could finally relax and believe that it was over. Take care of yourself now that you are finally home. X

This is such a lovely update. So happy you have moved back to where you want to be! I remember when I was in a flat I was desperate to just go upstairs to bed. Was such a nice feeling when I moved into my house but I bought a 3 storey house and originally took the attic bedroom... Quickly decided there were too many stairs 😅 But you're so right, cats LOVE stairs!

I just 'met' you yesterday in a book video of Ariel's and then discovered your videos here. What a delight to meet you and now see how happy you are with your new home. You describe everything so well, I feel I am right there in the room hearing the rain (love that too!) and the pigeon in the chimney (hope it flew out!) and seeing the cats in the sunbeams.
