So. Much. Change. I feel very excited to be in this new location, with the people I love, experiencing so many amazing things. Thanks for watching everyone! Follow on IG - @linnea.and.akela
I do enjoy following your escapades. I found you when you were winter camping in Wisconsin and it reminded me a bit of when I was in my 20's (I'm 70 now). It was back in the late 1970's and I spent a year living in a cabin on the lake in northern MN with my boyfriend. So many adventures there...no plumping, no electricity...small, two-room cabin a mile in from the road. Walking that road at night to get back to the cabin after a trip to town...hearing the local wolf pack pacing my progress the whole way, seeing their shadows through the trees in the moonlight. Driving a snowmobile across the lake to a location a mile away where the bookmobile stopped each week to pick up my entertainment. Listening to radio mystery theater once a week on a radio connected to a car battery. Bathing in a washtub on the kitchen floor and so much more. You are making good memories.
Wow, what lovely memories. I have similar ones. My only regret thinking back is that I wish I had known how to be a bit more present then. When I learned to later it left me able to remember so clearly. I can almost conjure the smells of those special times. It’s a great thing making memories
Linnea! I feel like your editing has just ramped up a notch or four! This video is just so emotive and evokes a kind of peace in me that doesn't happen very often, especially via a screen. Loving the style and enjoying seeing your art come to life ❤
This is what i love about your videos. You are so down to earth and you love nature. I have never heard a Geckos, but watching the ocean is amazing. Enjoy the beauty of nature
Ms Linnea, your videos are amazing therapy for my mental health. Thank you for sharing.... especially the outtakes @ the end... #StayRARE (Real Authentic Respectful Empathetic)🤟🤗
I love your videos, I am disabled and confined to a wheelchair. So these are places and things I probably won't be able to do or go too. Thank you, it's Awesome to see.
Such an awesome video! The fishing looks fabulous. I'm going this weekend I hope. I'm getting a van soon yeah!! O was cracking up at the end when you're picking dog hair out of the brine lol. I had a shepherd/lab mix. I had hair everywhere. I bet I could have spun a blanket out of it lol. Looking forward to the next video. Have fun.
So enjoyed!! Your narrating I love..could listen to you for hours...you have such away with articulating & describing & perfect music to go with.. Y'all feel like family. Looking forward to more share..Be safe..Be cool..Just BE❤️ ♡Jude
Linnea, what is there left to say? This was an amazing video. I can & can’t imagine see & doing all this with the one you love, Chris. And your brother & SIL. Such moments in time that you will always treasure. Thanks for sharing all of this with all of us. It brings me so much joy to see the world as you see it. It just makes me happy. Truthfully, I like when other ppl are happy. That’s what makes me happy.
Absolutely love ur adventures, it allows me to escape everyday life for a few minutes & literally not think about anything but how excited I am for ur lifestyle u & Chris have chosen to live. 🐟🐦⬛🚐🛶🌅🪨
I'm in Northern Utah and my dad brought my little 7 year old home a hermit crab he adopted while in they keys this winter. He's living on, happily, in a tank in my home now. Kinda cool!!
Quintessential content Linnea. Really felt the opening statements especially. Myself, like you, likes to get away and tuck amongst nature in its purity... but being present in nature with the human impacts in our face, is quiet in line, seeming metaphorical too, with all our inner journeys and facing our "shadows" and not hiding from them. Growth, understanding, patience, transcendence....beauty... are all quintessential byproducts of not hiding. Finding our place and feelings, facing it. I hope someday you give British Columbia a visit. I'd love to meet you. I'm 36 now but you mirror me with my first dog (white shepherd hybrid Teeka- got her at 12, died when i was 26)and all I did with her, but in a smaller scale of adventures- anywhere I could hike and disappear daily with her in forests, trails, streams... Wish they lived as long as sea turtles... - sincerely with Love April Mel
Great video! I love the information put into the video and will be sad not to see the videos every week (likely) but the quality was awesome! This is exactly why I follow your adventure. I have seen numerous people camp at beaches and Walmart but to see you being one with nature and truly appreciating it is so awesome! So thank you for being you!
WOW! that was so cool, thanks for taking me along. I have wondered when we would see Noah's trailer, and what a beautiful place to park a trailer and live on a boat!
Beautiful intro. Love your videos and general outlook. Thanks for sharing! Just finishing my second van and your page has been super helpful/inspiring.
So good to see you my friend... you sound so happy : ) You left the woods and I'm on my way , I spent last Sundayat my camper cleaning and airing it out good, I was there all afternoon until 9pm moving things in and unpacking it all. I sat there listening to my birds : ) until they quieted and the frogs began to sing, I didn't wanna leave, SO, I have some errands to run in town in the morning, and my Sorcha Claire and I are gpoing to the camper and spend a few nights and I can't wait. She's having her spaying done on the 9th of May, and we'll be staying at the apartment until she gets a jump on healing as up at the camper she will just run about and wanna hit the trails : D Enjoy your time there fishing and all, will be watching for your next video Keeping you in my prayers : )
Linnea, I just love watching your vids, your embracing nature no matter where you are. You are so refreshing. And right now you are my lifeline as I had a horrible accident last Saturday, where I shattered L1 vertebrae, and fractured my pelvis. By the grace of God was not paralyzed. Neurosurgeon said it was a miracle. Discharged yesterday and am back in the rv healing. Over here in the panhandle of Fl.
What a great video in an amazing setting with wonderful people. You are truly blessed. I’m so ready to be out of Winter myself. Btw that’s almost identical to how I make our pickles too. I add in lots of jalapeño for a nice little kick and use 3tbs pickling salt, 3 cups vinegar, 3 cups water for the brine. It’s the only way we like them now and they get better with time! We bought a dedicated fridge for our garage just for cold pack pack pickles, beans, and asparagus. 😂
Love the mangroves! I can imagine it’s beautiful at night with all of the night sounds. I will have to say, every time something splashed or when you were reaching for a fish I was worried that a gator would jump out at you! Love your adventures! ❤
Thank you soooo much for bringing up how invasive iguanas are! I live in Pompano Beach in South Florida and they are getting so bad here. I've been trying to harvest one so hubby can cook it up! 😁👍
That was a nice video and great documentary. I love fishing but the crocodiles kind of scare me. Well not kind of, they scare me. Very relaxing fishing until you hear a big splash.😬 Y'all have fun out there. Love you!❤❤❤🐾❤🐾
What a difference from the northwoods! That steamy scene made me feel the heat (as I try to warm up under my wool blanket in the northwoods). Why can’t you keep Carpin? What a midweek treat! I was just going to check what’s up while I ate dinner before heading back out! Thanks Linnea!
This was so awesome to watch!!! Looks like you two are having such a blast. I’m gonna tell my son & his girlfriend to watch you cuz they might be interested in doing some of the things you are doing. I do worry about the crocs at night though!! Are you sure it’s safe??
All the wonders of Key West. If you haven't left yet you should try to take a day on a shrimp boat and say what that's all about it is not easy work but when I lived down there that what I did was work the shrimp boats. I'm so glad you're enjoying Key West because there's so many wonderful things down there especially out on the water as you are finding out for yourself. Thanks for the Memories. Y'all stay safe out there now you hear. Wait I don't think shrimping season is in right now but you would have had fun if you could have done it
It's very pretty down there. thanks for sharing adventures with us. Please Stay Safe. Safe Travels Always. Mucho Love From Your Friend In Michigan Tam 💜💜
Ohhhh thanks for the pickle recipe! I’m currently obsessed with sweet/spicy pickles and banana peppers! I’m putting them on practically everything that you can’t put pickles on…(pizza, beans, pasta, etc)
We quick pickle just about all veggies in Denmark. Have you tried dried laurel leaves in the spice mix? And have you tried pickling herring? It's one of the most normal ways of eating herring in Denmark. It's the same process but you can reuse the juice from a pickeled veggie glass. Just add a tablespoon of sugar.
This video hurt my heart. I love Florida so much and can never get down there much anymore. Every winter I swear I’m going then something happens and I don’t go. I love it there on the water so much.
I don't know if you have ever tried or if there is a good place to try in the keys (I've only done it in north Florida), but you should try flounder gigging! I think you would absolutely love it! It is so much fun, and since you like night fishing, it should be right up your alley. Love your videos so much, and I love that you're in Florida (my home state). Thanks for making such awesome videos!
:) WOW! So good to see you in the Cargo Trailer you helped Noah build! AMAZING fish indeed that most of us will never see, let alone catch to eat :) ALL the BEST and Cheers from the other corner PNWEst !!! :)
Another fun way to release the flavor of dill (or any herb) is to put it between your palms and give it a good schmack. Bonus points if you say "schmack" when you do it! Love your vidoes, they have such a lovely serene vibe ☺️
I LOVE your enthusiasm for nature, Linnea! I was just doing some hike-in camping in northwestern Arkansas (while waiting for wild spring weather out West to settle down a bit). I was walking in the woods getting excited about all the many types of lichen growing on dead logs here. I feel you would have enjoyed them as well! Great vid, as always. P.s., I will definitely want to use the pickle recipe….love pickles!!!
