📢 TALK About JOB SECURITY..... & 2 of 🇺🇲 Most LeadFooT Drivers lol My Apologies i Meant to say highly Respectful young Gentlemen when behind the Wheel....😂
Let the adventure of drag week begin whatever happens it's never boring . Couldn't be a better group of people coming together for a wildnights road trip. Thank you teams Morris and Bailey for posting all the great videos on your RU-vid channels.
Tell him to grab a mop you’re way too nice of a guy brother Friends like you you just don’t have that many in your lifetime I really hope people appreciate that get that thing done get on down to the races man
Dang! How cool is this! Man, my 10 year old son and I feel like we are part of the race team! Thank you Steve and Tom for letting us come along for the ride. So important for the next generation to be apart of something real and cool!!! We love you guys so much!!! Thank you!!!
What a good man! I mean the level of commitment to your brand and your friends is incredible, I wish you nothing but 6's this week brother. God bless and hammer down!!!
In the TB vid, Ayden said something during post failure inspection about being able to feel a gap between the cap and rod but he had 2x checked torque before the engine was run. I'm voting for the cap not fully seating on the register as in rather than lightly tightening each rod bolt evenly to seat the cap, one bolt was run down with a zip gun and this jammed the register holding the cap up a bit. Once a bur was created, there was enough torque. After the motor ran a bit, the cap moved around, bolt on the jammed side backed out a bit and the other rod bolt bent.
Great job, Steve! I was really looking forward to following along this week with you and Tom but when I heard that engine knock after his last burnout on Friday night, I fugured it was over for drag week this year. But as usual, your pulled a miracle out of your hat! Awesome!
Steve's composure while clearly frustrated with a situation is pure class act. If we all could keep ourselves together this way lol, business would be much more rewarding.
That's pretty amazing! Tom is very fortunate to have an amazing friend and engine builder willing to do the impossible at a moments notice. I really hope his car does well this week. 🤞
Yet another fine example of friendship and comradery shown right here. There's certainly other factors involved, but seeing everyone coming together to make it all happen is commendable in every way. Good luck guys!👍🏼💯🇬🇺
my favorite series by far was when you were diagnosing Cleetus's motor. I watched every second of each video. This one (Im 1/4 through so far) looks to be along the same lines. Seeing how do detective work and figure out the impossible is great content imo.
Awesome to see father and son team at it. Kyle enjoy this time with your dad as once they are gone your only left with memories made and unable to make new ones.
Back in 1985 I crewed on a 220 + mph unlimited hydroplane. We BLEW the boat up 20 feet from the dock for initial testing. (Improper fuel cell cap and it leaked during the 10 mile transport to the Lake to test). We all voted to fix the new boat instead of using the old hull. By the time we finished, we were WAY behind! The drivers left at 4:00am on a Thursday morning for Miami from Seattle, normally a 72hr drive. They made it in 56hrs including a stop at the crew chiefs' relatives house to shxx/shower/shave. At many times the transporter, trailer and 9,000+ lb boat and 4 spare Rolls V12's never went under 100mph in TX/LA according to one of the drivers.😲. Great effort, Steve! Been there, done that.👍👍
I just noticed that it was a Brodix block. I assumed it was an SMX just like 2.0 and thought swapping engines would have been the easier way to go. That’s a lot of work in a short amount of time. Steve Morris engines sure does have some great customer service.
You are one high energy man to see you racing around that motor disassembling and reassembling at that speed makes me tired. Great job Steve I just love your videos.
Steve Morris... can we all just have a moment to appreciate this man and is awesome aura, respect and gratitude for all things in life... an all round good human..❤
I know a little about motors and build but this is a whole other level. It’s a work of art. It would be a dream opportunity to learn engine build from the shop.
Amazing the complications a 10 year old rod bolt can make when it's s stretched beyond it's torque holding capacity. Great job Steve! a 30 hour turn around on a race engine... Fantastic!
That’s a thrash!! Awesome!! I’m bummed the wagon isn’t going and Tom is taking 1.0 I was hoping to see some records broken by an SMX this year! Good luck guys
Steve you are An amazing person, my grandfather that taught me everything I know about Diesel engines and Mechanics is exactly like you and exactly the same Mannerisms I loved watching this video you are so comical about how he wanted to just stand there like an idiot while he demanded you take his “your” engine apart for him because he got to excited and destroyed it when you could’ve walked and I know you love your craft so much you couldn’t walk away from that beautiful engine, I know you are such a busy person you will never see this but hell of a video start hahahaha and what a quick and efficient tear down and rebuild as always I’ve learned so many things from you man for real thank you for These videos
Hi guys, I just wanted to thank you, all the team for making thoses videos. Even when you obviously don't have time to do it, really appreciate it. Thank you from france :)
As a person that makes a technical product that sometimes fails I can sympathize with Steve. Any good manufacturer knows that the buck stops with YOU, and YOU are the one that must fix the problem. Knowing this can be a little scary, but satisfying when you finally fix the problem.
I got to give it to you Steve you have awesome customer service! Especially if you would do this for all your customers. It's got to be tough to build a motor with that much hp to drive on street and drag.
Good deal Steve , saving another customer with a last minute thrash ! Lots of luck to you and Tom at Drag Week. I am really looking forward to the upcoming videos. Many thanks for the update.
You having the experience and expertise...and problems being inevitable....challenges like these are more than probable. Smiling and wading thru them as you do ....awesome.
I noticed when you were reassembling you forgot the 1/2 a tube of silicone on the intake? lol You’re the man Steve, hell of a friend…awesome to see Kyle there helping his pops out. Love the content as always 🤘🏼
Respect to a professional Especially one that goes above and beyond like you do Steve Any pro race team would be honoured to have you in their camp....... I truly can only wish the best for you......
And to add to the above, i thinke Kyle has not fallen far from the tree A case of son following in the big footsteps of his father..... Will make any father proud Oh yes, and any son will say : THATS MY DAD....
You're the man Professor! Keep an eye on your health. There's no winner without your health. The most important health advice .... 8 hours sleep daily..Your time lapse music is awesome... tanks for your channel...
I can't wait for videos from you and Tom just because of the way the week started emergency engine rebuild hopefully the rest of the week is smoother and you guys have fun
'Tis the life of a racer.. there's almost always something that doesn't go as planned. Sometimes it's really minor, but sometimes (like this), it can be really major. I hope all this last-minute effort pays off for you and Tom, so that you have a good week.
Sucks that you have to scramble but awesome that you are! Looks similar to the initial big block you built for mullet from the naked eye. Best of luck Steve and Tom
5:33 That look 😂 Tom: "Alright, I'm out. I'm gonna let you do your thing." Can tell these two gentlemen know each other so well and have been working together for a long time. Lol
EVERY engine stand needs a drain pan shaped to the bottom of the stand to catch all residual fluids that run out of it, we made a simple one out of sheet metal that we bent up the sides and welded and fab'd a notch out for the main engine stand vertical arm. Wouldn't do it any other way now. Takes about 2 hours or so of work to prevent so much clean up time and messes
Tom: "It's Broke". Steve: "???" Tom: "Can you fix it"? I hope you guys can get this fixed, it's fun watching your videos during Drag Week. BTW, Thanks for doing the video, even though you were in a rush to get it done.
Hey randy I have heard people adding marvel mystery oil to the crank case and allow it to sit and run for 20 mins at idle and then change the oil do urnoul change and then add lucas oil stabilizer back Into it with ur oil change it has helped quiet the top end alot down .
There's 2 things that amaze me: One is that you can tear down and reassemble this engine with a crank grind in only about 12 hours. Two is that it almost never fails that Tom, once again, has waited to essentially the last minute to test and find a problem with the car and/or engine he will be taking to a race. Don't get me wrong, I love Tom and everyone at Sick Racing, but you'd think he would plan ahead better by now. ❤
It’s impressive that such old technology is still the go to for high performance reliability. Babbit bearings head studs and copper head gaskets. All things that were in model A engines in the 20s-30s.
