Yea - like Joe was always very private and I feel like he could handle/just wasn’t used to her level of fame (he’s famous too but nothing compared) - while Travis has been in the spotlight like her and seems more used to it.
Travis does not just play football in front of 70, 000 fans, millions of people also watch the game on TV. He is a star to football fans. He won two Super Bowl rings, has broken records, and is a future HOF. It seems most Swifties know nothing about football or the players in the game and make up things about Travis only because they never heard of him but the rest of us that are football fans know the players, especially the great players on every team. The thing is Travis is a family guy. Really loves and cares about his parents, brother and his brother's family. He is one of the nicest guys. As Taylor said in a long ago interview by a talk show host that she only went for and went after cute, good looking guys, without caring if they were nice guys. That is shallow. But hopefully after Joe, she also wants a really good guy and Travis is not only cute and good looking but a really nice and good guy. They have awhile to go to see if they are meant to be. He has football and her tour does not end until the end of 2024.
As a Kansas girl, I'm rooting for this harder than I've ever rooted for any of Taylor's men before. She's such a dork at heart, and he's a polite, midwestern boy at heart. Equal in their own right, with no subtle "competition" between them. I'm completely sold, even if it's just for fun!

Himbos can be smart. I just think they don’t take themselves seriously at all, so they don’t put a ton of focus on seeming smart because they don’t care if people think they’re smart. The focus is more on the goofiness and kindness, which is honestly refreshing from some of these overbearing artsy types she dated.

As someone from Kansas City, I can tell you that Kelce is an awesome dude. I don't care much about football, but the whole city is collectively obsessed with the Cheifs so I now know more about football than I ever thought possible as a gay™️. Him and Patrick Mahomes are basically the biggest celebrities in the city and they're best buds. They seem like just good Midwestern guys, they're always great to people in the service industry (I have friends who have served them in bars and restaurants here), and they give SO MUCH to local charities (especially for underprivileged youth). Basically Kelce is like if the sweet himbo football player we all lusted after in high school, but grown up and rich. He's also worked really hard to get where he is. I dunno, I really kinda love this for T Swift! Also, his number is 87.
And I think it speaks volumes that basically everyone from Kansas/Kansas City has been saying nothing but great things about Kelce! It’s one thing for hardcore Cheifs fans to be the ones speaking to his “character”, but the whole city and essentially everyone this man interacts with is singing his praises- that means so much more!

(pre- Tennessee move) However… she actually told her fans on stage at the Wells Fargo Stadium (In philly) last year that she is a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, and that her line in her song Gold Rush (2020) she was referring to the team with the line “Eagles shirt hanging on my door”

She's definitely a football fan. She grew up in Pennsylvania and Tennessee and was a country girl for a long time. Of course she loves football. She also confirmed a while ago that she was specifically a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Edit: I just remembered that this also isn't the first football player she's dated. She sings about "dating a guy on the football team" in Fifteen, and I'm assuming she went to a lot of his games. Football was most likely a huge deal at her high school.

As a Midwestern Swiftie from Travis's home town, I'm more invested in this than I thought I would be. I'm going to nod my head when you tell me this is a fling but in my heart of hearts hope to live my delulu life and wish and pray that this lasts a bit for her if not turns into end game. It's interesting seeing this again after Taylor revealed they were "already a couple" before the September game, after secretly getting to know each other after the bracelet/podcast shoutout in late July. I think maybe she finally figured out that's a good way to date- having that private "getting to know you" period (avoiding the "dates every man she's photographed next to" stereotype), then the "soft launch" of "maybe they're dating/quietly hanging out" whispers and gauging public reaction (avoiding another Matty Healy backlash), before doing the "hard launch" of being seen in public together. They're learning! Although I don't think Taylor was super into football previously, she was at least familiar with it, having grown up watching Eagles games on TV with her college football-playing dad (and apparently they met coach Andy Reid when she was a girl. Foreshadowing!) When I first heard about this relationship, I thought "that's random," but the more I see about it and how they seem to match the same energy, the more it makes sense to me. They're supporting each other. They're both goofy, cheeseball romantics. They're both close to their families. Kelce fully admitted in his Wall Street Journal interview that he's "blown away" by how smart she is, so recognizes that he's not on the same intellectual level as her, but is also impressed by her "genius," which is probably refreshing for her to hear from a boyfriend. Him hyping up the crowd for her during the Argentina concert was genuinely cute, and he blushes when he talks about her during his podcast. She deserves someone who's that into her. Maybe they are endgame after all. We'll see.

I've always been of the opinion that "Blank Space" is more autobiographical than Taylor lets on. That's not to say that there isn't any satire in the song. Taylor is playing into the caricature of that song's main character, but to act like it's all a joke and that there isn't any hint of self-awareness or self-reflection on her own dating life at all is delusional. Especially now where we're seeing Taylor basically living the life of that character. These men are, as you said, accessories to her. I think she was genuinely in love with Joe, and she wanted desperately to make that work, but she finally realized that he was holding her back. So I think she's just on a rebound and collecting men for the funsies.
honestly 😂 especially the beginning and the chorus. there’s a couple verses that play into the media (“i’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream”, the media saying she was playing the victim and masquerading as americas sweetheart when she was actually evil) but like… “saw you there and i thought omg look at that face. you like like my next mistake. love’s a game wanna play” and also “ain’t it funny rumors fly and ik you heard about me so hey let’s be friends. im dying to see how this one ends” and the entire chorus… also “boys only want love if it’s torture” 😂😂 like cmon you cant tell me that’s not relatable. it’s extremely relatable as an unpopular nerdy teenager (idk how i’ve had like 4 different boyfriends, don’t ask) so i can imagine how hard taylor relates. and ik it’s all surface level and a coping mechanism for the countless betrayals and heartbreaks she’s been through to look at it like that. to be like “hehe i’m a bad girl, oopsies, i’m living life to the fullest” is kinda reclaiming all of the tears and slander and hurt she went through in those relationships. it’s a lot deeper of a song than we think.

OMG so true! I saw a story on her before the Rihanna Super Bowl and she's an inspiration. The way she decided to take it upon herself to prove her father wrong that she and other girls can do sports incredibly well and be the first college graduate of her family really stuck with me.

This is the first time I am commenting on Taylor's relationships. I love her music and the only time I am interested in her relationships is to understand her lyrics and how they come to be. But I am very happy for her with this Travis Kelce news. I have no idea about American Football as I am not American but this guy is her fan, he is fine declaring it. He being a very masculine individual is comfortable with his masculinity enough to talk about being a fan, knowing lyrics, attending her concert and making a friendship bracelet. And he seems very serious about perceiving this. I won't be surprised if all of this catches all of us in surprise and this fun goofy fling turns out into something very serious! I think Kelce values her for who she is. TAYLOR SWIFT!
