I just subscribed. A suggestion to better hear what you're saying is to eliminate the loud, distracting background music, especially when speaking inside with the echo in the high ceilings rooms . Looking forward to seeing your journey! Greetings from my Disneyland neighborhood here in Southern California!
Lovely to see two Australians in the Chateau mix. Looking forward to seeing the restoration of this grand and breathtaking chateau. Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Beautiful and courageous people, vive l'Australie ! I like your style, you learn and speak french, you work to know our strange laws about listed buildings and you are saving one of our best magnificent monuments. Grand merci à vous et bravo !
Love the seat you are both sitting on, by the looks this chair came with the sale of the property and you have revived it. Would be awesome to show us please the furniture that came with the property please. Love from a kiwi in NZ who is looking forward to following you, a dream I wished I could have done. Any rich single 66 plus yr old men out there lol xo
We've also just found you on RU-vid and we are fellow Aussies from Sydney. Looking forward to watching what we've missed and then journey with you. Good on you doing what alot of us would have liked to have done when we were younger. I do agree though, that the background music is distracting while you are talking.
This project is immensely exciting and I look forward to the restoration. Thank you for taking the time to restore a gem of our collective history, and breathe life back into it again. Sending my love and admiration from Canada!
Wow, at last I have some Australians to follow along with on a chateau restoration. What a wonderfully articulate and interesting introduction can not wait to see lots more on your channel. Thanks for taking us on the journey.
Fellow Aussie here. 🇦🇺 I'm looking forward to going on the journey with you from afar. It's been a long standing dream of mine also. Just a quick question, did either of you speak French before buying the Chateau?
Hello fellow Melbournians :D Your video came up in my feed as I love watching chateau restorations and I'm so glad it did. What a glorious building!! And the grounds are stunning too! That tree-lined strip is beautiful - so much potential. Looking forward to seeing how things progress in the weeks and months ahead :)
I look forward to your progress with bringing this gorgeous property back to glory. (I agree with a previous comment about the background music. Although, I could hear you fine)
OMG! What an adventure. A fellow Melbournian, I just happened upon this episode on You Tube. I am so excited for you and can’t wait to see your journey. What a stunning property! SUBSCRIBED, with the bell ticked, and can’t wait to see more.
Oh My I cant tell you how excited I was listening to your life's journey I am Australian and came from Melbourne which was my birth home . I have watched a couple of your videos but was in awe of hearing that you are an Aussie .I have watched hundreds of chateau restorations and thrilled to see Aussies making France your home . I saw the chateau before you bought a few years ago .What an adventure what a thrilling experience for you both I wish you the best for your futures such a lovely young couple. I will be waiting in anticipation for your videos .
I'm an architect and historic preservationist and your story about Purnon is exciting. I bought an 18th century townhouse in the south of France and will be relocating from the US early in 2023. I'm excited to follow your adventure. Cheers-
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and wishing you luck, patience and enjoyment of your beautiful chateau as you begin your journey ! From Myrtle Beach SC💙
Hello from Brisbane. What an adventure - love it. I find it interesting that you have to follow such strict guidelines with regard to restoration even though the French government aren't prepared ( can't afford) to restore these fabulous historical buildings !!!!
Well done you! Great to see some Aussies doing a beautiful job of preserving an incredible Chateau. Looking forward to seeing more progress in time Cheering from PERTH WA.
Dear Tim and Felicity, in the politest way could I suggest maybe toning down the back ground music please. Really interested in what you have to say but the music is a bit over powering and distracting from what youre saying. Love the project and the chateau is beautiful. Can totally see what you see in it. Best wishes for continued success with the project.
I have been following y’all on Instagram and here on RU-vid. This particular video is quite well done with your process in choosing Purnon and your plans for it. It is a beautiful property and I look forward to watching the progress of restoration. ❤️😊
Love to see these old historic buildings being saved, to many of them have been left to rot or been torn down sadly. Can't wait to see more videos on what you guys are doing. keep up the good work and most of all enjoy it :-)
Only recently discovered your site. My first thought was Purnon is so very lucky you discovered her. Cannot think of any other couple who would suit as well as you do. Looking forward to following this incredible adventure.

Welcome! Thank you for your message. We're thrilled you're following our journey.
What an extraordinary journey you are both on. I too, have just by chance come across your vlog…l knew when those first words were spoken that you were both Aussies…like me! One of the most magnificent Chateaus I’ve seen on here! I have now found another two charming people to follow. Congratulations, well done.. looking forward to more. Greetings from Lake Macquarie N.S.W. Australia.
Being a "Yank" but knowing our family's roots reached all the way back across the pond, makes me feel somehow that this beautiful place is somehow a special place even to me! I wish I was a wealthy person who could go along the real estate trail and scoop up all those chateaus mentioned that are in such need of saving! Bummer! 😔 Let me hasten to say how glad I am that at least this wonderful old place is in the right hands, apparently! Will enjoy watching the progress - even from the southern US! ❤❤❤

Thanks for your message. We're thrilled that you're following our journey!
That was amazingly interesting, I sure hope (but doubt) that they are helping out with the costs of restoring this damsel in distress, But just like the National Trust in the UK I won't be holding my breath, It is incredible that these places are the highest grade of listing, but it has been allowed to fall down for the past 20 years
Now look, I have worked in Aussie and I know you are tough! Really tough. Little Aussie Battlers right? I am looking forward to following your travails and cheering you on. Good luck and chin up
So glad to have found you! Ex-Sydney resident of 16 years and then spent 25 years in North Dordogne/Charente area. Wow, what a massive project and well done to get so many people for the Patrimoine weekend. Bonne continuation !
Well certainly a challenge for some but not for Aussies 🇦🇺 We wish you all the best and we will be here to see this fantastic journey of discovery and historic adventures, God Bless you both and be safe. 👍😇🇫🇷🙏🏰

Thank you - we're glad you've discovered our adventure.
Greetings from San Antonio Texas! I also just subscribed, I agree the background music with the echo in the room just makes it very difficult to hear your conversation. It just gave me a headache. Love your château can’t wait to see all your plans for restoring this old house.

What a lovely chateau!! Just subscribed and shared. I can’t wait to see your wedding day in the chapel. Looking forward to see more of your chateau restorations.
Ex-pat Aussi here, (ex-Sydney), permanent resident Athens, Greece and so delighted to find Aussies taking on one of the loveliest chateaux in France. Congratulations and very best of luck! Can't wait to follow your adventure!
I found video one, I am all caught up on your new chapter in life, congratulations on getting married and I am excited to see how your restoration and new adventure go, I will be watching thanks for taking us along. Love from NY.
This has got to be the most massive undertaking of all thr Chateau reno channels! Very exiting to see your discoveries, your work and journey! Please don't use background music whilst talking, it works for zero RU-vidrs. Use of music for motages and droneshots is fine, but try something other than your intro music or it will get tiring. It's a great intro but alot of the YT music libraries asian "impression" of older European music is looped and really repetitious and also used across other channels. In the long haul, your video and audio quality will determine who follows your vlog faithfully or just hits subscribe but doesn't really follow. There's an important difference. You'll learn as you go along, but I'm sure tips on good audio equipment like microphones that muffle the echo and other handy tips will be freely shared if you reach out and ask any of the more seasoned Chateau vloggers. Afterall they've had the same issues. I think there's good support and pepp between many of them who have become aquainted thanks to this platform and there's definately a massive wealth of experience and expertise amongst some so I think is your best shot at avoiding unnecessary newbie mistakes both in regards to your reno project, your videos and all sorts of problemsolving is to open for dialogue. You may want to visit a few and talk to them about your project and get som valuable feedback even... You are terribly courageous to take on such an enormous estate, I'll be routing for you and very exited to follow! ♥️
I'm so excited to find your channel! What a fabulous place. I'm really excited you will actually keep the stable a stable. Every single other chateau restoration channel I watch renovates that space onto something else! Yay for you. I can't wait to see more details of the outbuildings, details that show the historical way of life, and details of your projects restoring this beauty! Thank you for saving this piece of history!
I've been watching your videos one by one. I can't imagine how you are going to fund these efforts but I applaud you. Hopefully you can gather a lot of funds through the internet.
There is a lot of American 🇺🇸 interest in French chateaus! If you start putting out weekly videos, I am sure they will be well received, and your RU-vid channel will grow exponentially! All the best in your renovation journey! Cheers!
Are you working in conjunction with French Heritage? This is a mammoth task! I think Dan of “Escape to Rural France” is tackling a task that is a challenge but you’ve definitely topped that! The Chateau is in awful condition but finishing your roof will be such a monumental accomplishment!! Love the history! It is definitely incredible.

Thanks for joining us. The Château is a classified historic monument therefore we are working very closely with and with the support of the Ministère de la Culture.
Yes please- definitely do a whole vlog on your exciting finds within the Chateau! Love letters? Graffiti from maids living there over a hundred years ago? FASCINATING. This is going to be a brilliant project. You are in good company too… there are lots of expat Chateau restoration vlogs on RU-vid now. Your kinda crazy has loads of good company! Looking forward to your guinea pig experience wedding too - congrats. Lots to look forward to as normal expands again.
I also cant wait with much anticipation to see you restore such a beautiful Chateau thank you for these first video love them and you both thank you for taking us on your new journey until the next one cheers new friends 🍷🍷🍷💐💐💐❤️❤️🥰🇨🇦
This is a wonderful video!! I really enjoyed your sharing about yourselves and how you came to the chateau. I'm looking forward to binge watching your other videos so I can catch up! Love from Vermont
You might want to explore the Work Away program where you can request volunteers with the skills you need for room and board. A great way to get help and build relationships.
Whoops, hit send in error. What a joy to listen to your story and I can see why you fell in love with this beautiful home. I too, have always been interested in the history of Château’s, Castles, Plantations here, homes that have stood the test of time. I follow other Château owners and I am looking forward to your journey. It amazes me that the French Government has a “protection” on this beautiful place and others, but let them get into the state they are in. Do they also help financially with restoration as I believe England does? I am so looking forward to your next update.
What a delightful couple you two are! Loved the history, it was amazing! Surely the previous owners are delighted to turn their historic jewel over, into your capable hands. Subscribed.
Just subscribed, how exciting! Watching with interest as an Aussie who works on historic buildings I have a personal appreciation of what you are doing and it's so great to see Australian's reviving such wonderful treasures even though we grew up with much more recent historic architectural vernacular, we perhaps bring a fresh fervour to these treasures of European design history.
Fascinating background on you and your chateau!! Looking forward to more!! So grateful to see such a beautiful chateau being brought back to life!! Love from Southern California 💗
Happy to find your blog and look forward to following you. It is very difficult to clearly hear/understand what you’re saying. The music is distracting. Thank you!!
Your journey will be soo interesting to follow. Looking forward to it! I would love to hear more about the how you envision the interiors to look like and also your plans for the gardens.
I just found your channel and subscribed I love Chateau renovations. I'm subscribed to about nine different shows. Cannot wait for this adventure! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
