In my experience with both dooms ultra nightmares doom 2016 starts really hard but gets easier the stronger you get whereas doom eternals difficulty stays around the same from start to finish

In my opinion I think that Doom 2016 is a little harder but to be fair I am a lot better at video games than I was when I played Doom 2016

DOOM 2016 is easier in the sense that it takes less skill to be good at, but Eternal is easier in the sense that the game is so solidly designed that once you get good at it, it's like taking a test you know every answer to.

Eternal obviously harder. The game incourages precise movement. Every demons have strength and weakness so quick weapon switch is essential specially in nightmare difficulty and you have to quick switch weapons and shoot demon during fast and precise movement. In doom 2016, I didn't care about switching weapon after i got machine gun.

I have beaten doom eternal un but not in 2016, so for me 2016 is harder

Comparing the two games just because they share the title Doom is dumb. They're fundamentally different games. Doom 2016 is a reimagining of the original Doom and Doom 2 games for modern hardware. It's a run & gun with some platforming and seceret hunting. Doom Eternal has more refined combat and platforming, which doesn't always equal better, with seceret hunting as well. It's more complex and takes more attention and concentration to play properly. Doom 2016, you can almost shut your brain off and blow away half the population of Hell. Neither simple nor complex is better than the other, depending on what the player has fun with. If I want to just rock the shit out of some demons without having to worry so much about survivability or ammo, I'll jump in 2016. If I'm looking to test my skill and gunplay while having to manage each of my utilities, I'll play Eternal. Really, the only thing they have in common is that they're both FPS, they're both Doom, and they both have platforming elements. Outside of that, they're different experiences. Sigh It's morbin time part 2.
