I remember seeing this here in Canada that night on Arsenio. I also remember thinking the same thing at the end when the ad for best western appeared while Arsenio was dropping knowledge...."WTF!" I was recording this on VHS, and brought it to school. I was in grade 7, and we all watched it in class. I miss those days, and the days of real hip hop.

We need this nowadays, but we technically already have it. And nobody listens to them, they just laugh. Kendrick tries to say something, folks say he fell off. Folks ignore Cole to hear that new Lil Pump, and other conscious rappers and singers get very little play, or get mocked for being "soft", while your Kodak's and Travis's are marketed far and wide. Sucks that MO-3 didn't get to live long enough to truly change his life. Andre tries to put out something to study to, folks clown him. And there's no telling the amount of underground and conscious rappers we've never heard of because of how things have changed since 1990, but especially 1994. Boy, the label owners really did a number on Hip-Hop, didn't they? Meanwhile Eazy was supporting people like Bush and Reagan who hated blacks and used the system to hurt us all and continue exploiting us (especially the black working poor, black women, and black queer folk who've also been crucial in all black movements to begin with), just like Wayne, Cube and that neo-Nazi Kanye do now. But the fools my age and older will keep blaming the young and upcoming artists like they have "no talent" or like it's their fault true talent, precision, passion, and conscious art isn't as widely known as it used to be back when I was a 2 year old kid in '90...or before in my parents' younger adult years when Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis were in their bag doing bangers for the SOS Band/Janet...or in my gramps' time when Motown was a huge presence with Smokey Robinson doing what Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak do now. My point? Exactly what the title of the song says. Don't think young folks have talent? You're wrong. I hear them in my instagram scroll all the time, and get recommended some good stuff on RU-vid from people with only 5k subcribers, or 100 plays on SoundCloud. Go find, and support, your local conscious or revolutionary artists...instead of laughing at them for doing something different.
