Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green.

We post new ear cleaning videos Monday - Friday at 9PM GMT so if you find ear wax removal satisfying please consider subscribing to our channel.
Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

Dr.B when you say debris are you referring to infected tissue or some kind of external debris that entered the ear and eventually got infected, if you suspect that its external do you send it out to verify?
@haggielady
@haggielady 2 месяца назад
Usually when he says debris he means wax and/or skin. Sometimes it is from an infection. Anything from an external source, like hearing aid pieces, he says what it is. I've never heard him say a word about sending anything out. That would be the ENTs job.

Rhys, listening to you describing the tissue-thin epithelial layer made me think of "tissue faille," the finest and thinnest silk fabric. You have mentioned your constant reliance on foods as metaphors for the sorts of skin and other layers you find. Why not use types of fabrics? "Wet Shetland sweater" or "wet corduroy" or even "two pieces of static-bound pieces of polyester" are descriptive too

Thanks for another great video Rhys. It was interesting and informative and enjoyable to watch. Both of the patients you had today were most interesting. The first one was amazing how hard the wax and stuff was. And there was infection in there. Fantastic how you got that out in one piece. Huge. Wow. The second one had tons of skin peel , so much they could not hardly hear. Amazing the skin peal you got out of there. Good job Rhys. Appreciate the good explanations you give us as to what is going on and what to look for. You excitement is also interesting when you are looking at the ears. Good show today for sure Rhys. Thanks. Iowa here. Steve. Looked at the video again Rhys. Second look showed me all the infection in there you pulled away. Probably one of the better videos on this you have had. Fascinating job on that ear. Thanks.

I LOVE watching these videos. As an adult that has a child’s ears, ear canal, & sinus cavity, I have had my ears cleaned on a fairly regular basis. I know how the majority of y’all’s patients feel when they can hear better. I always make sure that before my ears get cleaned that I turn down my car radio and pretty much anything that has to have sound adjusted. 😂😂😂

Question. I'm from the US and when we have an ear infection we get an oral antibiotic. But from your videos I'm seeing that patients there typically get a spray. Why is that? I didn't even know there was an ear infection spray until your channel, I've had a few ear infections as an adult and it's just interesting to me

I used to get infections in my ears as a child. Blisters would from. It was excruciating. I had an ear doc do what you guys do but he was so ruff! I was 5yo! I cried n cried. I lost so much hearing in my ears. They even tried to reconstruct the ear drum w cartilage from my ear n skin behind my ear. Worst surgery ever bc it made me so sick. Ears are so sensitive. I respect that you guys are so gentle w people's ears. I have horrid memories. Never knew what that doc was doing until I saw your videos, imagine my whole life wondering why he ripped the inside of my ears out. 🤦 I won't let anyone near them now. 😂 🇺🇸
