Capa were clearly one of the first to support the Ford kits and no doubt this kit still holds up great today. PD's are good but I concur with the guys on the video, the power curve from these make more sense on a street car with limited options for huge traction.

If anything, their sponsorship of this series has created business for themselves, but also highlighted on a much larger scale that you should steer clear of them if wanting your parts or responses to emails in a timely manner. Like many I purchased parts from them after seeing this series. Wish I never did .

The only huge issue I found with PWR, you spend just over a grand for the radiator just to find out you need a certain radiator cap, you think it would be included for that price tag.

Just put the radiator in and cut it down... Benny already broke the no fabrication rules by welding his shocks.

Love my FG XR8, but I wish it had a gen 2 Coyote. The Boss is cool but Omar is right about the motor being hamstrung by a lack of vvt

I have a 2015 FGX XR8 and I mean, at least that got the VVT on the intake cams, but yeah, it would have been so much better if Ford AU used an ECU that could have supported a complete set up.

It's not just that, either. The design of the rotating assembly and the cylinder heads hurt them as well. Hence the 5.0 motor making more power AND torque everywhere, and using half as much fuel to do so.

I have a 2006 BF with V3 sideslinger and no intercooler and at entry level but with 42lb injectors tuning etc 337kw atw and mental once you hit 4000 ish rpm.Forged rods crank etc would allow higher revs but i am happy with it as is,

Great build guys but I am compelled to mention a couple of things. When installing any forced induction,eg turbo or supercharging , the engines coolant system needs to be modified ONLY in the expansion tank. As you guys are utilising a water based system then of course basic science kicks in where we know that when water is heated it expands. Taking that basic science on board then as a forced induction engine is compressing more air fuel then of course the engine is running hotter and therefore there is more need to have more expansion built into the cooling system. At the end of the day a forced induction engine needs ideally 6 liters of expansion room built into the expansion tank. Of course if you were to run a nano glycol system then there is not the same need for that amount of expansion. Also the Boss 260/290/315 modular engines tend to trap steam in a couple of areas in the cylinder heads and the rear water welsh plugs at the back of the plenum need to be given a way out , this makes a huge improvement in the way the engine handles heat soak. All up in my engine we tapped 8 holes 6 in the heads and the 2 rear welsh plugs into a custom housing . We also install a custom water pump impeller to improve the coolant flow all the way through the rev range. Then you have a sweet engine that purrs like a kitten and performs like a lion.

They can make good power NA. Cams and exhaust just like any other v8. GS in Qld has his full weight running 11.8 NA. Yes, imo like many other people SC is the better way to go with a modular 5.4. People forget the boss 5.4 is only 331 cubes. 480hp isn't bad for NA. They make a shit load of torque and sing like a twin cam celica.

@@daniel-it2lw yeah check out gapsauce he revs his 5.4 to 7800rpm on stock bottom end and some cams and airflow makes 420rwhp while he's at it... his extra rpm with 4.11s and a 6spd manual easily let him beat 500 - 600rwhp cars

Blows my mind that Ford managed to put the beast that is the Barra in the XR6 turbo at the same time they put this boat anchor of an engine into the XR8 which was meant to be the top Falcon model.

Thats a big oversight on CAPA behalf If you are are supercharge a V8 the next important upgrade is the radiator obviously. And you cant so that. You have to install one remotely on the rear tray. 😅

Wasn’t an oversight. These kits are intended for standard engines, to be fitted at home with basic tools and skills. CAPA business model regarding sc kits has always been this way. A way for everyone to have performance on a budget. Hope that clarifies things. Ps the old stunt team used too flog the pants off the CAPA xr8 nothing ever overhead engine wise.

@@timsminigarage Obviously that is excused but if I was paying 1k for a radiator I would expect it to have the inlet and outlet at a much closer point to oem position and not cause fitment issues on a modified car. If I was paying $300 or something then sure, but 1k is a huge ask for a radiator

It didn't have fitment issues, the pwr rad is 20mm thicker as explained, and that 20mm was going to cause the rad hose to foul on the charger...

I love my 5.4. (That's why a purchased it 😋) Wouldn't swap it for anything..... Except a L.P. casting 308. If peak rwhp per dollar is your goal the 5.4 obviously isn't for you. It isn't my goal obviously. IMO ALLEGEDLY
