I enjoyed going on your bike ride with the two of you. Can't get over what a beautiful town you live in. Million dollar views everywhere you look. I also loved looking at John's lawn and flowers at the start. Didn't realise how many varieties of plants you have. All your hard work is paying off.
You really cannot beat the feeling of freedom that you have on your property. Also the expanse of playground for your darling boys. I enjoy visiting the other houses. It is a good way of getting ideas for your own place. I so love Portugal and the lovely Portuguese people. They are so welcoming❤❤❤❤❤❤

Before my husband passed away, on Sunday’s we would go look at “Open Houses“, not because we wanted anything different, we just loved seeing all the different styles and how someone else lived.
My but that beautiful lawn looks lush, John! How rewarding for you and your family. Tara, what a greatinitiative you and John have with Jose, showing us the two properties nearby. Glad you're not selling....yet. The first one is what you'd call turn-key ready: just bring your toothbrush. The second was huge: and the land fairly level and accessible. Sure, a lot of clearing, but if any of those buildings were at all restorable, it looks like the timbers, tiles and cement would be the only materials required. They would need insultation of course. And if too far gone, at least their footprint is there for a rebuild using all that stone. The potential is worth every Euro. Loved the bikes, guys, and those cobbled roads. And, of course, the views! Thank you for a wonderful adventure.

We had a beautiful border collie for years on our farm. She got filthy all the time. I found a wand to fit my hose to wash her back and belly with. She loved it because it wasn’t using just the spray nozzle splashing her. On Amazon it’s called a waterpik wetwand to give you an idea of what it looks like. Having a “boys” wash station outside is a marvelous idea. Love your videos. ❤
It’s nice to get ideas by exploring other properties. It’s also so very important to understand that not everything is greener on the other side of the fence, so to speak. Your current property is wonderful and you’ve put a lot of sweat and tears to make it your own. There will always appear to be something bigger and better when in fact you already have the best property for your family’s future.

Yay The Newby's. I can't wait to watch this weeks vlog. I've been doing a lot to my garden the past few months, to get it ready for summer. It's nothing like yours, i wish it were. I have enjoyed planting this year and getting to know my plants and flowers. It's looking beautiful now they are all in bloom. I have some red hot pokers i planted some years ago and they always flower, although maybe only one or two will come out but this year i've had 8 so i'm really pleased they feel at home now. They are so regal and glorious standing amongst the other plants 🥰 Willow 🥰
That second property! 😍 Take my money! That's gorgeous! Just imagine a little lawn in that space in between those two stone houses, maybe with a little outdoor kitchen/seating area and some flower bushes surrounding the whole back part of the lawn. And some wide stone steps down to that lower part, with some garden arches over the staircase, full of some climbing rose variety. And don't even get me started on those stone houses and that view! What a dream property!
So smart to look at other properties around you before you build. You don't want to over build for the area and it's so much better to see in person rather than just looking at comps on paper. Some people would say “ Oh what a nightmare, what a lot of work”. Unless…….. you have vision. See I also get excited when I see what can be done ! I love it! I would love to move to Portugal and do up a stone house/houses. Look how far you have come Tara and John, with your vision. I know why you are looking, because you have this big project ahead and not really guaranteed the value at the end of it, so just to see what is out there is well worth the effort. Best to look now before you start. That second place would be my choice, because the rooms are so big and the gorgeous views. Keep up the good work, but don’t burn out. Love your website! Also Looking at other countries like Portugal, Spain, Italy etc. to relocate. But all these websites, yours included, totally ignore what's going in the EU, in the World. Portugal has the highest Excess Deaths in EU., so demografically a whole lot is gonna change in only a few years! Real Estate Agents are ignoring that fact totally!! House prices are going down everywhere, as (bankrupted) Banks are getting more reluctant to give mortgages. Such a shame as real buyers will be put off.. To do houses up, cost a lot of money as well. It's clear a sensible aWake buyer loves to look around, but also realizes these house prices are far too high.. Stop dreaming, be realistic as property is only so much worth as a buyer wants, or can, afford today. Smaller is more sensible! Better stay out of the Banks!!
Love your bikes. I have a cargo e-bike for groceries. Someday I'd like to get myself a purely recreational bike. It's fun to look at other properties, but it has nothing over yours. I'm sure on a clear day the view is spectacular. Still John's expanse of green lawn, Tara's garden & the boy's tree house wins the day!

Nice video, always fun to see what’s out there. That said, NOTHING compares with the Newby enchanted farm! Blimey blokes, did you even see the opening of this video with the green lawn and riot of gorgeous colorful flowers?? John, your vision for that space is paying you back a million fold! All the work and sweat that you both have put into your place is coming to fruition and if it were mine, I would never want to leave it. You even have a most gorgeous stream and swimming hole hidden away for private family fun in the summer. When I call it the enchanted farm I truly mean it. Sawyer was so adorable in the opening shots enjoying the water with his dad. He has a smile that quite literally lights up the space around him. The bike rides to showcase the different old properties were nice, but I was really looking forward to seeing the renovation you were working on for Tara’s parents approaching visit! Was it completed?? What about the bathroom? I’m somewhat disappointed you chose to make a video of visiting nearby properties on your new bikes instead of what you were doing last week on your property. I’ll just have to be patient for next video & see how it all turned out. Tara kept posting hours left to finish on the video which increased my contemplation to see the finished product today … or at least see what was accomplished! I really liked this episode. It shows that you definately have the nicest property we saw today. You have ample space for all aspects of life....growing food, play area for the boys, beautiful gardens, space for multiple buildings incl future outdoor kitchen and pizza oven, pool, treehouse, and underground Caveroom. You certainly got some ideas for your place.
