I've never had captions on for one of the secret sleepover videos before, and I just wanted to say, I appreciate that someone takes the time to color code between Jacob's speech and Julia's speech and even using yellow to show when they are both speaking. These are like the most detailed captions I've noticed. I don't know if they are like this every video but I really appreciate it for the people that rely on that even more than me occasionally. Maria is my favourite fight in the entire game by a pretty comfortable margin; the movement and rhythm of it feels like dancing. Alas, I am a terrible dancer and not a much better Bloodborne player, so I ended up stunlocking her against a wall like the basest of cowards

Julia is not going to suddenly start using a mechanic she only used once by accident about 12 streams ago and that Jacob (and also the game) never explained to her. Blood bullets feel very much like a repeat playthrough mechanic, especially if you decide to delve into Bloodtinge or Arcane which are less straight-forward to build around than Strength and Skill
50:52 after Julia says “don’t tornado” Maria does something I recognize from Elden Ring DLC gameplay footage. A combat art where they hold the sword far from their body parallel to the ground… an unusual tactic for real fighting, I’m sure.
Finally fully cleared Limgrave/Weeping Peninsula in Elden Ring today, and almost finished Liurnia. I may see the DLC yet - and I have streams like this for giving me hope and confidence. if you (general) ever get the urge to say "that sounds like a [insert any race] people food", I encourage you to take a moment and ask yourself: does this food ACTUALLY have an ethnic element to it, or is it just something poor people with kids eat? the hotdogs cut up and put in Kraft mac'n'cheese was a staple among the white, Black, and Hispanic families I grew up with, too--because it was cheap and filling and you could add whatever spices you wanted without worrying about weird flavor combos. There are definitely Poverty Staples that have ethnic roots (in my part of America it's mostly Hispanic, Slavic, and Germanic), but a lot of modern foods that are more ambiguous in origin are just "What's cheap and filling and easy to cook for a parent who's exhausted from working?" TL;DR, it's not a race thing, it's a poverty thing. Class solidarity is one of the strongest weapons against racial division.
Yeah, that seemed really weird to me. I grew up poor and lived in a poor area. Lots of us ate hot dogs (or canned tuna) mixed in mac & cheese. Add in ketchup or hot sauce and some black pepper! I'll still eat some on occasion as a more financially secure adult.
Hey Jacob, a lot of times movement can cause piercing bumps- might want to stick to a labret/stud and look into the No Pull Disc :) I have a flat piercing that’s around a year old and I have an on/off bump on the back, the No Pull helps to stabilize the jewelry and gently applies pressure to help things flatten out!

Wow Demon of Hatred took me a whole day at least. Same for Isshin, but at least by the time I beat Isshin I did it without getting hit because it trains you to do the perfect sword ballet with him. Still my favourite boss fight for sure, I was hooting and hollering when I finally did it.
@@Goblincow Demon of Hatred took me close to 20 tries because it's so different than how the rest of the game works. It feels more like a Bloodborne boss than a Sekiro boss and I had to get that into my head. I *almost* beat Isshin on my first try, then I dodged weird and got somehow clipped enough into a rock to get stuck and could not get free and he shot my ass to death. Took me another like day before I finally beat him and I just felt frustrated because it should've been a one-shot!
Same. I kind of had a perfect build for it (bloodtinge so parries did a crazy amount and so did my bullets) but I also got incredibly lucky at points. Naturally every time i've gone back since on a new character she has demolished me continuously.
I know they probably don't read these but Jacob asked about his nose ring and I can't help myself. If you're actually wearing a ring in it, switch that out for a flat back labret, rings aren't good for healing due to the pressure they put on the piercing. Also, making sure your jewelry is quality material is always a good call. Considering your ear piercing also struggled, I'm almost willing to bet there's a problem with the jewelry. Implant grade titanium is what you wanna go for. 14k gold works too but is quite expensive. Apart form that, I second the saline solution.
he said the piercing is 6 months old and in an earlier stream he mentioned being finally able to switch from the healing labret to the ring. so it's not healing anymore i dont think

mac n hotdogs can be elevated by frying up the hotdog pieces in some butter and brown sugar (and some crushed cayenne if you feel like it) before adding them to the mac!! it's like super easy to accidentally overcook them though and they'll get a very sticky/candied consistency that's hard to mix with the noodles lol

I love how Julia, who has never played this game before, is making an absolute mockery of it in such a casual way. She's been fighting Maria much more cleanly than I do, and I have over a thousand hours in this game 😂 Weighing in on the Malenia conversation, I don't think Malenia is necessarily unfair because of Waterfowl Dance. It's hard to dodge, but it can be done. What I do think is broken about Malenia is the healing. I don't like boss fights where one mistake can reset the entire fight back to the start. Maria feels like Malenia without the healing. She can cover huge ground incredibly quickly, has heavy-hitting moves and gets gradually harder as the fight goes on. But I enjoy fighting Maria a lot more because mistakes don't set you back damage-wise. An excellent fight
I've never played Bloodborne (at least, not very far... just far enough to realize I'm garbage at it... not even to the first boss), so I've never seen the Maria fight, but _hhnnnnnghhh_ if "chick in a long coat with two massive swords slowly walking toward you" ain't exactly my kind of shit
I used to love cilantro. Would just dump that shit on. Then one day I couldn't handle it. Likewise I have a tendency towards substance abuse, but I don't fit the criteria of a genetic predisposition to addiction. And that one's mostly down to other disorders for which I self-medicate. So like... not everything is genetic. Some things are down to hormonal shifts, over-exposure, trauma, etc.
I must admit… I don’t like cilantro and I do tend to get hyper focused/addicted to either games or work. And honestly if I had access it would likely be a substance. Edit: it’s just so soapy, I so badly want to like cilantro but it tastes like dirty dishwater.
