chat really wants gehrman to be the disability icon of this game and frankly, as a wheelchair user, i’m not gonna stop them. if gehrman wants to save up his spoons to fight you at unspeakable speeds then so be it. EDIT: since there’s still some discourse in the comments, let me clarify, i know the legitimate reasons jacob has lore wise, and i know he’s mostly joking. however, chat is right in many ways. here’s the thing: gehrman can be a shitty person AND chat’s selected disability icon. disabled people also don’t have to be weak, needing a wheelchair isn’t exclusively about strength. i’ve met plenty of ambulatory wheelchair users who work out and are stronger than the average person, but need a wheelchair for completely unrelated health reasons. the arguments against gehrman are valid, but they are still arguments that normal disabled people face all the time out of ignorance, and that’s why chat is so adamant about him being disabled in their eyes. lore wise, he’s obviously not, but who are we hurting by letting chat have it?

the blood-starved beast was a woman who began to turn into a beast secluded herself to avoid contact with anyone else and to satiate her thirst flayed her back drinking her own blood which slowly spoiled into poison.

I made the joke "lofi beats to slay beasts to" during the stream because that's what the audio sounded like to me, but I'm only now hearing that really crunchy tapping with this vod. So weird.

With Julia talking about wanting to be a delivery person in a quaint town, I think she'd really enjoy the game "Lake". It's a small indie game about working as a postal worker in a quaint small lakeside town and getting to know the residents along the way. It's very peaceful and relaxing and a total vibe.

The blood starved beast(s) are blood saints who were involved in a process where their blood would be collected for rituals. The chrurch building behind Djura's tower has one crucified and hanging from the ceiling, with beast patients around her and chanting. The ritual blood you find there came from that beast. The altar there has details depicting the Moon Presence, a certain god related to the beasts. Additionally, BSB appears in chalice dungeons (Loran and Hintertomb), so it is an ancient ritual that has persisted into modern Yharnam. The blood is an offering to the gods and allows entry into the dungeons (which is where the healing blood was discovered). Certain details further than that are fuzzy to me but theres probably someone out there who figured it out. I'm not sure if BSB is human or a beast when their blood is collected. I think they turn into a beast and then are drained of blood? Either way, blood healing lets her blood be continuously drained without killing her. Her back is skinned and peeled over her head which makes her resemble female beast patients, the beasts with cloth over their heads. This is also said to resemble hair but idk if thats important. There's also some lore about the poison effect and the ashen blood disease but I dont really remember the details. I dont really understand how it relates to the beastly scourge, but somehow this illness spread the scourge? All the beasts in old Yharnam have this illness and thats why they are called beast patients. This disease also is exposed to people through blood and excrement. I dont think its stated anywhere what the antidotes are made of either.

Shout out to the chat members who brought up the audio issues at the start. Something was definitely up, and on my headphones it was immediately clear that resetting the capture card fixed it. I probably would have bounced off this vod otherwise because that sort of constant audio popping/static is something I'm hella sensitive to. On a totally different note, hearing Jacob shout "STOP EDGING" was not on my bingo card.

I know it's the "has done the bloodborne for all of ever" in me but it never stops bothering me that it was SAID even in the last stream that Julia does not have antidotes on her bar. Spoilers, she kills the most poison boss of all time by slowly waiting out the poison instead of using antidotes.

Julia is straight up a good Soulsborne player. Source: i have beaten Malenia in ER solo, no buffs, with pure unga-bunga strength build and i have spend more attempts on most bosses in these games that Julia beaten in just a couple.

Went back and watched Julia's DS1 playthrough this week so it's weird to see her use a normal weapon instead of the Boss Deleter 9000 halberd.

Turns out if you want to spend your whole day on your feet you won’t have the energy to do those activities. And if you want to be more active, you’ll probably need to spend some time off your feet due to the nerve damage from having your foot amputated and being upright all day

Recently, I hit my knee just barely, on a plastic laundry hamper. but I hit the vein that runs down the center, “lost”a lot of blood quickly, got a knot of hot bruise-blood. I almost passed out and scared my wife. She called EMTs… went to the hospital. The doctor diagnosed me with vascular vasovago-something. basically said a lot of teenage girls have it, and pass out easy, some passout from looking at blood. Mine is a physical response probably since I broke a few bones in my foot a few years ago.

I recognize I am WILDLY late to the party on this one, but buying Dark Souls 2 is incredibly complicated. There are two different Scholars: Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin for PS3/XBOX 360 is the original version of Dark Souls 2 bundled with all the DLC. Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin for PC/PS4/XBOX One is a *completely* redone game. Enemy placement is wildly different (in frequently annoying ways that gave the game much of its reputation for having empty boxes full of enemies), blocked passages are wildly different, numerous NPC 'invasions' have been added, and many, many other small changes. This also includes all of the DLC. Dark Souls 2 for PC is just the original game, and there's no option to bundle it with the DLC and you'll have to pay full price for the season pass or individual DLC. Unrelated to EITHER of those is the Scholar of the First Sin *patch* for PS3/XBOX 360 Dark Souls 2 that adds a second ending and a LOT of text to items, and a handful of other QoL changes, all of which are also included in the next gen versions of the game. This patch is totally free and will be downloaded for any version of Dark Souls 2 you play on PS3 or XBOX 360.

I started playing this game during and because of Julia Souls. I forget what boss I lost steam on, but I had no idea the Healing Church Workshop existed! My favorite bosses were the1v3 with the spirits of Yharnam or what have you and the teleporting hag/witch :)

I have never been more frustrated at Julia than watching her not use the like 6 items they gave her specifically for the BSB and still absolutely stomp it in like four tries. Even with the items it took me like an hour and a half to beat it the first time.

I've notice on a couple of the vods that there are new song titles on the loading screen, but I don't feel like I have heard any new tunes in a while. are the songs being cut from the vods? or am I just going crazy? also is there anywhere, where Jacob is uploading his music? because I would really like to listen to more of it and can't find it anywhere

I leveled Arcane basically just because I thought "A Call Beyond" was cool. Then it worked out for me anyway when I got to the DLC and mained the Holy Blade for the rest of the playthrough.
