We Watched Spongebob Season 2 Episode 5 & 6 For The FIRST TIME Group REACTION 

Funny enough, despite his name being Squidward he actually is an octopus. This was confirmed by Stephen Hillenburg way back in the day.

SpongeBob's meltdown at the end of Grandma's Kisses is a mood. Being an adult can suck sometimes and it's easy to just want things to go back to how they were as a kid, when life was simpler and you didn't have the stress of the real world on your shoulders all the time.

So someone pointed out that Spongebob and Squidward are both different kinds of adults. Squidward is a jaded cynical adult who loves the arts (painting, dance, music, ect.) and feels unrecognized for his tallent. He works a dead end job as a cashier at a fast food restaurant. Ect. Where as Spongebob keeps his inner child alive and well. He just seems to find fun and enjoyment in just about everything.

I find it funny that Grandma's Kisses was released after Patty Hype. They both show that SpongeBob is more sefl conscious and aware of how others see him than he let's on.

The entire Grandma debacle becomes funnier when we find out MUCH later down the line that Squidward’s own grandma doesn’t like him.

The citizens of Bikini Bottom ticked me off a lot, but in the “Grandma’s Kisses” episode, I got furious. THE HELL IS WRONG WITH RECEIVING LOVE FROM YOUR GRANDMA?!?!

The episode with Spongebob's Grandma is kind of hilarious to me, because when I worked fast food and my grandma visited for lunch, the whole store would let me know and my manager would have me take my lunch then and there to hang out with her, which was just nice and supportive of them. So it's a strange dichotomy of fiction vs. reality.

It’s actually hilarious that mr krabs burnt the patty with no hesitation because it was spoiled but then later in the next season doesn’t give af 😂

I'm not gonna lie, the close-up jumpscares of Wormy legit scared the heck out of me as a kid 🦋

“But do you know what I miss the most Mr. Krabs? That tiny squeaky sound that you get when you rub two pickles together.” Random lines like that are why I love this episode, it’s very underrated. It’s also why I love SpongeBob as a character in general.

Fun fact: The bug face in the episode "Wormy" was actually the face of a horse fly

Here's some interesting facts. That was a Horsefly everyone's afraid of and it was originally from the insects episode of Bill Nye the Science Guy

I think of the "Nobody goes to a restaurant for atmosphere!" line ALL THE TIME. Mr. Krabs fundamentally lacks a key understanding of being a restaurant owner. This is exactly why people go. If you want food, there's food at home. But it's your usual surroundings, so you go to a restaurant for a change of scenery. It is hilarious to me he doesn't understand this idea.

What's kinda funny to me is that another reactor I watch said that she hates butterflies all because of the Wormy episode and I'm just like "wait what? Why? If anything the episode should make you feel bad for butterflies! Butterflies are awesome!" 😭😂

The grandma episode hits different now than it did when I was a kid. What I wouldn’t give for one more day with my grandma 😔

Just wanted to bring up a small correction. Squidward is an octopus, his name is just a humorous swap of species. Octopi have bulbus heads (like Squidward) and squids have a more narrow, almost arrow-shaped heads. Love your guys' Spongebob reactions. I especially can't wait for you to get to the episode where Patrick learns what mayonnaise and seahorse radish can and cannot be used for.

The Side Effect of the Pretty Patties wouldn't have happened if SpongeBob used Food Coloring instead of Paint. Customers would love the flavor of the patties without changing color.

Unironically, I think the "freeform jazz" joke is what got me interested in jazz music. Also, there have been occasional times where Squidward has embraced the madness of Spongebob and Patrick, and he seemed genuinely happy. I love those moments too.

My mom used to tell me about old ladies constantly trying to touch me whenever she took me out for walks as a baby as well. She said it really pissed her off that random people would come up and just start touching me without asking. Its wild that this is still somehow a thing, I figured with time people would have learned some self control and boundaries when interacting with other people. Sorry you have to go through that weirdness.

the way these fish acted towards Spongebob in ''grandma's kisses'' episode makes me want to bake that explosive pie and throw it towards them, so they can have it on the...house? restaurant? eh i've done worse.

The patty hype episode I loved so much as a kid, that I wanted to have those patties myself haha. And Wormy was a iconic one too, gotta love seeing when SpongeBob and Patrick try to stop the butterfly. Like everyone else, I enjoyed season 2 and season 1 of SpongeBob

Both SpongeBob and the Kirby series have solidified my distrust of butterflies.

“Grandma’s Kisses” is one of my least favorite episodes from S2. Mainly, it’s because of the way the fish characters, plus Squidward were wrongly teasing SpongeBob. The worst part of it, they get away with it, which is something that I strongly dislike about antagonistic characters in shows.

I live with grandparents. They treat me like a baby despite me being 23, and sometime they like to overstep boundaries, give me as much affection they think I need, it's absolutely unnecessary. At the same time, I appreciate their support for providing me somewhere to live and food on the table where I can be happy.

I just realized something. Mr. Krabs royally messed up with the Pretty Patties. Spongebob kept giving back the money, ensuring people would come back for more patties. They didn't notice their changes because they were more happy about being fed and getting paid for it. Krabs, no doubt, kept the money. Causing them to eat a select few patties and go home. Causing them to realize the changes and thus go after Krabs for a refund.

That Wormy episode is why I'm scared of insects lol
