We went to the West Virginia Reptile Expo to get more Dubia roaches for Flippy. They are a source of protein for red-footed tortoises, but we have to make sure he only eats them once a week. Otherwise, it could cause pyramiding with too much protein in his diet.
If you live in West Virginia, the expo is pretty nice. They are slowly building up, introducing more vendors, and getting more traction, but for a state that doesn't have a lot of pet stores that carry tortoise supplies, we try to go to support and get what we need for Flippy.
