Weak Fuel ⛽️ Pump? Elevated the tank, and it ran long. '78- 15hp  

This 1978 Evinrude was a CDI ignition motor that had no spark. I found the stator was bad, and it's still available for $427 on MarineEngine.com, but that would be cost prohibitive. I have a 1975 Evinrude 9.9hp with a points ignition system, so I stripped the '78 ignition system off and replaced it with the points ignition system. When doing this you need the magneto cam and the flywheel from the donor motor too because the CDI system didn't use a Magneto cam and a CDI flywheel is different where the magnets are in relation to the keyway and that would change the time of ignition.
