In the early 20th century, intrepid explorers and adventurers ventured into the wilds of Africa, seeking to conquer uncharted territories. And what did they wear on their expeditions? None other than the safari suit - a rugged yet refined ensemble designed for the rigors of the bush.
The safari suit has since evolved into a timeless piece of fashion that embodies the spirit of adventure which is one of the many reasons I love it.
Beyond its utilitarian purposes, the safari suit also holds cultural significance, representing the spirit of adventure and exploration. Its association with iconic figures such as Ernest Hemingway, Theodore Roosevelt, and Karen Blixen (famously portrayed in the film "Out of Africa") has cemented its place in popular culture as a symbol of rugged elegance and daring.
The beauty of the safari suit lies in its versatility and functionality. I designed this with a sturdy and beautiful draping Irish linen. The linen fabric lends to the casualness of the ensemble as well as allows the suit to be breathable for the warmer months when a lot of us are looking for something classy to throw on, or wear on summer holidays while also beating the heat.

1. The Classic Explorer

Channel your inner adventurer with the classic explorer look. Wear the full safari suit paired with a brown polo and olive loafers, this is an understated yet sophisticated ensemble that's perfect for both city walks and outdoor escapades.
When I’m traveling or in transit, I also gravitate towards wearing this because there are so many pockets for all of my travel documents and its super comfortable.
2. The Urban Nomad

I like to break up the ensemble and wear the jacket with a navy polo, jeans and some black loafers for a more urban, chic look. This would be perfect for a day exploring a new city from dawn until dusk and will keep you stylish for that morning coffee, looking smart for that afternoon meeting and elegant for evening dinner and drinks.
3. The Casual Kind

We’ve been doing a lot of exploring and moving around, maybe it’s time to lay-back and relax a bit. One of the best things about this suit is the drawstring linen pants, which are comfortable and great for lounging around with a knit tee or polo, or elevate the look with a shirt. Of course this would be easy to wear around town or even next to a beach.
4. The Weekend Wanderer

Light washed jeans and a basic knit tee with loafers is another great way to throw on your safari jacket for an effortless look for the weekend. By wearing a tee, I’m taking things down a notch in formality from a collared polo, so this works if you want to be more casual, but still wear this classy jacket.
