My father served in WWII, and landed on the beaches at Normandy. I absolutely love Sarinda but cannot fathom how you two were able to see past the rot and focus on the finished results. That takes tremendous vision, and faith in the abilities of each other. I simply marvel...

Completely brilliant. Liking how you've condensed a weeks work into one video. It shows the progress in a way that is much easier to comprehend, and your achievements are awesome!!! Well done you's, your commitment is truly inspirational. Am looking forward to the engine parts arriving and being fitted, and Simon sorting out that spaghetti junction of wires that came under the saw, ouch!! Thanks, as ever, to your supporters for enabling this content to continue, and to Robbo for his "hands - on" appearances.

I honestly like your videos for a lot of reasons. I get to see how you rebuild your ship (boat), but also the enjoyment of how you two bring such upbeat easy to watch rapport between you two. You always have a funny side to everything you both do. And that tells me you both enjoy making your boat and videos. Please keep the videos coming. Great distraction from all the questionable/bad things going on in the world... Thumbs Up!

Those guys are just incredible to refit all this WW2 alone with their own material without any help, except Robo and some material offered by the donates. They are crazy not because stupid, but the way that some people decide a day to start something that is completely unbelievable, and always with huge smile. Maybe as some people could say their ways are not conventional in navy carpenter, but day after day, they repair this very old lady. 👏👏👏👏

What I find amazing is that not only do you two work well together, you're not intimidated by the size of this project. "If those two can completely redo a WW2 wooden boat. I think I can manage the timing chain on the Honda."

I’m doing the timing chain and valves on a Fiat 1.3 diesel it’s fought me every step of the way. Then I bought the wrong glow plugs. Pistons hit them when I turned the engine. So the head has to come off again to clear out the debris. No major damage as it’s not been running. But yet more unplanned work. The resilience of these two keeps me going.

If you look back at some of their earlier videos (could be on their other channel), they had no idea of how bad the boat was. To their credit, they still took it on as a labour of love and kept going anyway. From memory I think they estimated 50K pounds and 2 years, but that was before they had a proper look at it. I think the revised estimate after 2 years and 100K pounds is something like another 2 years and probably as much again in pounds.

And yes, Simon does have little sprouts of hair in the back of his head, so no trip to Turkey.🤣 Have you both noticed, Gemma knows exactly how much glue to apply, and Simon is a bit heavy handed with the glue. What an inspiration the two of you are. Restoring that old ship to seaworthy condition and dealing with constant challenges...not to mention the weather. I once heard someone make the statement that it is the climate that has taught the English (and Welsh) how to deal with adversity. Smooth sailing ahead! (I would gladly exchange some days that are 35C and more for some days that are 15C along with some much needed rain!)

Great job. One thing I would suggest, is a fore deck open-able hatch in the forward compartment. Perhaps closer to the bow, than center deck. I suggest this hatch for 3 reasons: First, as an escape hatch in case of emergencies. Second, to let in air. And last, most deck hatches can have a plexiglass pane which will let in light. Some hatches in new boats even have black out shades and or bug netting. But I feel quite confident that you two could rig up something if those fancy hatches are too expensive. I always look forward to your episodes.

I KNEW SHE WAS BIG BUT IT IS ONLY WHEN YOU SEE IT MARKED OUT YOU GET THE FULL IMPRESSION!!! As for as the naysayers go ignore them, they have probably never done anything in their lives, certainly not on this scale!!! There seems to be nothing that you cannot tackle on the boat and tackle it well! Good Luck getting the decking across see you next week.

During the 1980s I did a temporary wiring repair on my car using (new fangled) heat shrink sleeve. Bare wire ends were twisted together and folded flat among the wire. Covered with heat shrink and “done”. More than a year later, I got around to properly repairing the area. Those joints would not pull apart. I did do a “proper job” but was amazed at that heat shrink fix.

I have just been watching the last episode with Simon hammering nails like Noah before the flood. Could you adopt your roving tool to drive those long nails? If it can be done Simon can cobble something up. He's a McGuyver like myself. I have never used one of those battery units before, but I have used air driven sheet metal riveting guns; shaped like a small windy drill as we called them. They gave a direct impact, but came in about four preset impact levels. I know copper can bend easily, but a trial in the workshop or the new shed would see if it works. Save a lot of hammering.

Every time I see those Deck Beams, I shudder in fear for you. Those things are ROTTEN! LOVE watching all the progress! Even the bad days, you find a way to make SOME progress.

It must be so gratifying to step back and look at what you’ve accomplished and how well you did. I am envious of you both. Nice work it’s looking great!
