Cheers Ian ... I don’t get out now much due to circumstances at home so your videos are very much enjoyed and appreciated. Thanks for sharing, take care 👍🎣🎣
Hi Stephen I’m so pleased that my little contributions help in some way and I hope that you will be able to get out more often in the future! If not then I will try and keep you entertained in the coming months! Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
Fought through the weather and the small fish and got your reward.👏👏 Well done Ian, a very enjoyable watch and thank you for sharing it.👍👍 A nice mixed bag. 🎣🎣🎣 A choice between Chesil, with that glorious sunset, 🌅or watching England.🇫🇴 🤔 Sorry Gareth, no contest.😉 Thanks again, hope you enjoyed your fish.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
Hi Ian yes good decision to fish rather than watch a turgid England game!!! Now England in the final or perfect Chesil conditions may present a challenge!!! But I don’t think England will get that far unless they are braver in play!! So glad you enjoyed the video it makes all the effort worthwhile cheers ian
@@ianclarkfishing What? 😲. Then always wonder what you missed at Chesil?🤔🥺 You can always watch the match later on catch-up. 🫣Will help you fall asleep.🥱😔 I played local football till I was 50, even after having 2 discs removed in my neck at 40. Sorry, it's not the same game I loved.🥺🥺 Where's my tackle bag and bus pass?😉🤣 Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
Well it looks great all this week and I’m sure the codling will still be there!! I’m hoping to go again on Friday with Chris… he was disappointed to miss out like yourself. Thanks for watching cheers ian
Lovely codling Ian. Having prepared our static caravan for the winter I shall have to fish the BC until March . May give Ladye Bay a try next week. Stay safe and tight lines. Mike
Thanks Mike!! Some nice blonde ray coming out from ladye bay recently I’ve heard! A few codling now showing around my local area at Weston super mare. The few weeks up to Xmas best time for a lump I think!! Thanks again for watching cheers ian
Nice enjoyable video, as usual, always watchable and entertaining. In my case, “the nuisance” fish has saved me many a blank ! ! Trust you are feeling a lot better now, go steady, especially when fishing on your own. Best wishes
Hi Derek lovely to hear from you again! I always enjoy catching anything…. Except maybe straps!!!😂 And yes my general health is improving thanks!! Cheers ian
Ha ha I’m sure that’s not the case mate!! I was just pleased I stuck with it and managed to get a couple amongst all the pout, dogs etc. lovely to hear from you as always cheers ian
Hi John I do count myself lucky but actually it’s a 90 minute drive to Chesil but the anticipation on the way there before every trip is fantastic!! Definitely my favourite venue! Thanks again for watching much appreciated cheers ian
Hi Rob it was like Crufts out there at times!😂😂😂 You just got to persevere and hope the next one is a proper fish!! Fortunately this time I got a couple of codling to make it worthwhile!! Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers ian
Hi Paul yes frustrating when they are so numerous. I prefer fishing for cod in a clear sea in daylight as the nuisance fish are fewer but the cod still there. But beggars can’t be choosers and the rods kept nodding!! Thanks again for watching cheers ian
Hi ian you ok mate, once again cheers for the watch again. Well done ian on your catch n the codling for the table looked a cracking fish. I had my first nice codling ladt week near cleethorpes n last sess it was 3 rockling n 7 whiting lol. All the best ian from GRIMSBY.
Hi again Carl so glad you have got a codling!!! Brilliant! Then down to earth with the rockling!!😂 That’s fishing for you!!!🤔 glad you enjoyed the video cheers ian
Well done Ian there seems to be a few cod about in a few places at the moment which is nice to see the river Mersey and the North East are catching a few apparently it could be one of those years
Hi Colin yes I agree this is definitely a year of the cod… last good year was 2016 I think. Let’s hope enough of the 2 lb fish survive to get nice and fat for next winter!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
Yes pleased i persevered it’s easy to get slightly disappointed when the pout dogs etc constantly get to the bait first!! The filming was not made any easier with the gusty winds!! Glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
well done for getting out and providing us with another nice vid ,.you looked knackered at the end ,it must have been from winding those rubbish cod in ,great to see you put the best fish back and only take rubbish fish home to eat ,😂ATB les
Hi Les yes I was exhausted reeling in all those pout and dogfish!! I’m getting too old for this fishing malarkey!! Didn’t fancy trying to fillet a 6oz pout!!😂😂😂 cheers mate… ian
You are very kind thanks so much for watching! Codling was very tasty 3lb just about the perfect eating size … nice fillet each for me and Mrs C!! Take care cheers ian
Top effort on your own bud. I was going too say couldn't you set up half way down the bank. But you obviously thought of it too. Lovely codling bud enjoy tight lines
Hi Keith glad you enjoyed the video! Yes I was a bit slow on the uptake but was a little wary of the swell but it was fine. Thanks as always for watching cheers ian
Fantastic session . Just watched as I'm rig making and a general tackle overhaul. Always a pleasure to see a fellow angler get rewarded for the hardwork we put into our sport. Awaiting the Xmas special as always. Best wishes Chris.
Hi Chris so glad you enjoyed the video I try and entertain where possible so always nice to hear when viewers have positive comments!!! Thanks for watching!!! Cheers ian
Yes the football dire I gather!! Chris constantly in touch all session and a bit peeved but we out next Friday together I have left some for him!!😂 cheers ian
Yes I’m very happy to choose fishing over football these days though I hope we totally destroy France!!! Thanks for watching again much appreciated cheers ian
Hi Paul yes the rods we’re constantly in action but not always with the fish you want…. Easy to get downhearted but perseverance paid off fortunately!! Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
I was out there the same day (surprised I can't see myself on the video) and got 2 nice codling (and a couple of doggies). Never been winter fishing on Chesil but will certainly be back. Thank you for the video. PS what's the tip for catching cod as opposed to codling on Chesil/at Abbotsbury?!
Glad you enjoyed the video!! Well done on the codling!! Bigger cod generally show late December but tactics generally the same so luck definitely plays a role!! A livebait rig on one rod does work for the bigger fish but it’s a waiting game and the conger can be a pain!!! Cheers ian
What an amazing video as usual congratulations at least you got a couple of codling didn't do too bad any fish is better than no fish catch you on the next one
Thanks so glad you enjoyed the video it makes all the effort worthwhile! I’m very happy seeing the rods nodding regardless of species….. I just love fishing!!! Cheers ian
Great vid Ian,worth the trip.I did exactly what you did ,I live on the Isle of Wight & thought I’ll give it a go instead of watching England & boy was it the right decision,4 Small Eyed Rays, biggest 9lb.Keep up the good work.
Hi Ray lovely to hear from you!! Well done on the ray that’s a nice size fish!! Until England get to the later stages I’ll stick to the fishing thank you very much!!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
Weather forecast looks great for this week I hope to get out Friday with Chris!! That walk down at low water is a killer!!😂 Good luck if you get out!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
Out of interest do you see hundreds of skate egg cases on the tide line? Here we have hundreds -they outnumber the dogfish cases maybe 10 to one! Great video! If dogs were the same shape as cod they would really fight!
Hi Kerry no just loads of cuttlefish washed up. I did have a couple of dogfish that had me wondering if they were codling but only because they came in tangled up and sideways!! Glad you liked the video thanks for watching cheers ian
Hi Tim forecast looks good for Sunday I’m sure there will be some cod about!!! Unfortunately I have no sea legs 🤢 so boats are out for me!! Good luck tomorrow cheers ian
Hi David it’s improving thankfully but they reckon it will take a year for a full recovery!!!! So glad you enjoyed the video thanks for watching!! Merry Xmas cheers ian
Definitely warming up!! Sea probably still clear so will be hard fishing!! I would wait until after Xmas when strong winds May colour the sea and bring the fish in closer to feed!!
