I decided to drill a couple holes in my Weber kettle to install a port for the thermometer wires to port through, and also another port of a different size for the BBQ GURU Fan adapter to port to. I could have used a step bit in my drill, but at the time Lowe's didn't have the size I needed, so I went with a couple different sized hole saw bits with chuck arbors to mount them on. It all worked out. The porcelain enamel is very hard to drill through, so I drilled the holes from the inside of the kettle, then cleaned up the holes with a round file, then dress the hole with heat resistant paint with a Q tip. All went well and both attachments were installed. I did have to grind down the bottom edges of the guru adapter air vent on the inside of the kettle to allow for the clean out paddle to slide under it, but worked out just fine.
