Literally me reading a story with a bad plot but the art style is gorgeous

That or it can be good artstyle but you just don't vibe with it, like I tried so hard to read Lore Olimpus but the artstyle is WAY too much for me, too overstimulating, and the lack of lineart just messes with my brain, it's still gorgeous, but I just can't with it lol

Same this is me with anime too If I don't like the style I'm not watching it no matter how good the idea is 😭

HEAVY ON THE CRAPPY STRUCTURE. I think it's because people have resorces to learn how to do the fun stuff, like coloring and rendering, but don't have the patience to go back to the basics and relearn things they may have initially learned incorrectly, like guidelines, proportions and anatomy.

Yo Fr she's not just acting like a kid, but also is just simply dumb. She acts like she's mentally challenged, which makes their relationship even more disgusting. I left after freaking 10 chapter, they didn't even make it to his fucking home and I dropped.

Tbh, even if its a self insert, the character growth washes the negativity away. Early Lookism is a GOAT, fleshed out characters with good backgrounds and grey balanced moralities. Kooleen probably didn't even read much of the webtoon after seeing the two daniels and called it a day

It's secrets are really fucked up and someone with insecurities coz of their looks may get a panic attack ngl. I.wont go into the details coz of spoilers. The Gangism part of the story is Peak 🤌 right now as well.

I can see where you're coming from, but it is all fiction and telling a story, but some really overdo it and wasn't needed for the plot at all, and the MC would just be trash overall.

I actually started reading BL because those I found were not toxic unlike normal romance. But then I found the bad apples in BL and got traumatised by the whole romance genre. Started to write my own romance where the plot is good, relationship is healthy and loving, but not without struggles, all characters have brains, and the whole world doesnt revolve around them.

God, one of the ones I used to read did the whole non consensual kiss while one of the characters is asleep trope and the author tried to justify it by saying "it's the lore!! He was magically compelled to do it!! Pay attention guys". Bro you wrote the lore smh

If you want to read a webtoon that doesn't have the stupid love triangles. The FL actually has a personality. No misunderstandings (at least not ones that don't get resolved within the next chapter). I highly recommend you read "Maybe Meant to be." The FL can get a bit annoying, but overall, it's a very good comic. Another great one is Serena. There is a love trigable, but it's not annoying and the FL isn't constantly stuck between the two men. She's more focused on saving her family's legacy. She has a very strong personality. The misunderstandings aren't cheap plot points. The whole point of the story is about empathy. Seeing from people's perspectives. The people you think are the villains are actually good. Another one I love is "I love Yoo" It's a slow burn and you will struggle to read through it at first, but it's literally my favorite comic of all times. All fans of the comic say that the creator is a literal genius. The characters are so well written and the mysteries are so compelling. There are a lot of misunderstandings, but it's not used like a trope. It's very realistic and you understand WHY there is a misunderstanding. It's not simply used to drive the story home. If you have the patience, I highly recommend you read it. I mean, there is a whole sub-reddit and a whole website created for fans to make theories about the event. You will find yourself going back 100 chapters because you realized the author foreshadowed an event 100 chapters ago. It's so good!

True Beauty is the only webtoon I've read so far and I honestly found all characters to be shallow from the very beginning compared to the manga I've read. Super uninteresting and not particularly likeable.

This. I think this is the thing people struggle with the most. It is fantasy. A lot of love stories are tumultuous in various forms of media and not examples of healthy communication at all. It all depends on if it's meant to either point that out or be total fantasy so that it's not problematic in the sense of understanding that this isn't a barometer for real life interactions. Not unlike porn, actually, which is also wholly fantasy and not a measurement of how people work. I think the issue is when people aren't educated on something being solely fantasy. Twilight and stuff like that can have it's place so long as the reader knows that x or y's actions are not something you'd want mirrored in real life. Whether it's the love interest or even the protagonists themselves.

As a gay man reading BL from time to time they are just so badly written. Charecters act very unnatural even in a world of fiction, the relationships are shallow, have no backgrounds and reasons to happen etc, they just dont make any sense.

Some women in some cultures like a man to be commanding and dominating, as it shows him to be a strong genetical candidate for fathers. In webtoons this carries over to shit like impromptu kissing or pinning to the wall intensely or similar.

I wont force you to start reading again but the Author already ended the whole Lookism thing cause it got too "boring" because he already did everything there is about Lookism but since Lookism became Gangism everything improved, the art, plot, Story telling, paralels, character design, depth, passing, fights, arcs, motives, moments, Peaks, mystery, versitility just everything. It turned from a intresting Story to a masterpiece
