Hey Aly, Could you do a video on lounge wear and nightwear for the body types? I'm 1m60 narrow shoulders DC and struggle to find flattering pj's, it often look sloppy on me. (anyone relate?) Just got married last Monday (we eloped in Vegas) 💗 I am stuck between typing myself as D or FN but either way I feel I picked the perfect dress. It was a long sheath style, with a V neckline and Queen-Anne inspired sleeves (Lulu's Eternal Elegance dress to those curious). So glad I discovered Ali and Kibbe before getting married :)

I designed and sewed custom clothing for women and this type of knowledge is so valuable! Thankfully most clients had an innate sense of what looked good on them, but it was definitely an area that I had a lot of learning to do in.

Hmm, this is interesting and well timed! I'm a Dramatic Classic, am engaged, and have been looking at wedding dresses. I do so appreciate you taking the to put this together, especially as a DC. Thank you for articulating what you believe works and doesn't work. Sadly I can't say I love any of the dresses picked for DC, as to me most don't really feel "bridal" but more "here's DC being the edgy professional in crisp, yang silhouettes even on her wedding day". Like I was kind of expecting a white pantsuit and blazer as one of the options lol (which to be fair, I know many a bride who would look STUNNING). To me the suggested wedding dresses would more be dresses I would wear maybe to a very fancy rehearsal dinner -- though I know other brides who again, would look stunning -- and none I have tried on and would consider wearing to my actual wedding. My gripes aside about limitations I see in DC wardrobe suggestions, I do so so appreciate you taking the time to put together these thoughtful videos as I have learned so much from you

As a DC, I know what you mean. Sharing my own experience -- when I got married 20 years ago, I wore something similar to what Kate Middleton to her wedding, except that mine had an open neck while hers was more covered. If I say so myself, it looked amazing.

Also an engaged DC here - I bought my wedding dress from an Irish designer (celticfusiondesign on etsy) who makes this one really long straight lace dress with super long flared sleeves like a medieval dress, and it looks amazing! It has the clean lines recommended for DC without looking like it's a work outfit.

Thank you Aly for this video! I am Gamine (or, possibly FG) and I'm getting married next year, so I'm delighted that you made a video about wedding dresses for the body types. I have already found my dress, and I love it: it is a A line dress, with boatneck and fitted bodice, and A-line skirt (I can't find a picture online, but it's almost identical to the Ofira model from Pronovias, from a few years ago). I only have one doubt: the dress has a bit of train (not too much), and I have not decided if I want to keep it or if it would look better without, due to my height (I'm 5'3" and will be wearing 3" heels) ...

I keep confusing myself between TR & SG . I love halter necklines but I like the subtle ornateness that goes with being a possible TR . The only thing that stops me from claiming SG is that ppl see me as pretty proportioned , but I just have a short torso & longer legs in comparison to my whole body . So if I were to get married , I'd like the halter look with possibly slight Mermaid draping ? 🤔 but I'm single anyways 😅 so let me stay out of this lol My prom dress looked like that really short , poofy dress with the big ❌️ over it lmao , except mine had a strapless sweetheart neckline . But that was 12yrs ago and I don't think at 17 we can claim a type since we're not fully mature .

Damn, I'm getting married in city hall so I didn't want anything too glam. As a soft dramatic, glam is my thing, but I also look good in pretty much any kind of pants. So what I did is buy only the white pants (instead of the pantsuit), and instantly regret it because I look stuffy in the matching jacket. Now I don't know, I'm looking for one of those peplum dress coats for inspo.

FN here... yes, my shoulders (and upper arms) are the bane of my fashion existence! Wide and low necklines are a great help, plus no volume in shoulders. Upper arms must also always be covered - so the shawl is a great idea!
