Miss Marie Cavallier's Bridal Gown and Tiara
The Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Joachim and Miss Marie Cavallier on 24 May 2008
The bridal gown is an haute couture creation made of 19th century inspired Calais lace with flower patterns in raised satin stitch. The dress is off-white and lined with ivory silk faille from the silk fabric maker, Buche, in the Loire Valley.
The bodice of the bridal gown consists of finely embroidered lace. The gown ends in a train that is three metres long. The bridal veil is of tulle with lace bordering and is kept in place by a tiara.
The tiara belongs to Her Majesty The Queen. It was a gift from the Queen's parents, King Frederik and Queen Ingrid. Originally, the tiara belonged to Princess Dagmar (1890-1961), the youngest daughter of Frederik VIII and Queen Louise. In 1922 she married Master of the Royal Hunt Jørgen Castenskiold.
In addition, Miss Marie Cavallier wears a pair of diamond earrings from Genève.
The designers David Arasa and Claudio Morelli from the fashion house Arasa Morelli have designed the bridal gown.

What a beautiful bride! Her dress and veil are stunning! She looked much better than Mary whose wedding gown appeared to be a sack. Everything about this marriage is lovely! The flower arrangements are so gorgeous. And I adore the fact that Joachim's sons from his first marriage accompanied him down the aisle.I can't believe it's been eight years since he married Marie. Much more love to them!

Crown Princess Mary was a beautiful bride in a gorgeous dress. Queen Margrethe was also a beautiful bride in a gorgeous dress. Princess Marie as well. No need to compare them to each other! I believe they all wore the same veil but I don’t know its history. I love the Danish Royal Family! ❤️

Well,it is the church belonging to Prince Joachims estate. It was build 800 years ago and was not intented for royal weddings, so I am very sorry if you think it is too small. I think it was a very beautiful wedding.

Is it me or does anyone else notice that at the .42 mark all the way through the 1.00 mark, that the four senior royals appear to be visibly irritated with the prolonged waiting? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but The Queen looked as if she was in a moment of silent frustration; her husband couldn't sit still; the Crown Prince made a comment to his wife and looked into the heavens with exasperation while she, mindful of the cameras, simply nodded and smiled as though nothing was amiss.

In light of the stiff breeze in front of the church and the absence of sisterly bridesmaids like Princess Mary had when the wind attacked her veil at her wedding, perhaps Marie should have drafted her stepsons to follow her into the church and help her maintain control of her veil. Princess Marie also has four half brothers who could also might have been drafted to help her fight the wind.

They can't. They were only allowed to marry commoners because they weren't Danish. Before Queen Margrethe and her sisters got married in the 1960s, they couldn't even untitled people. There's a dispute about how much of a "Count" Count Henri Laborde de Monpezat really was, but even if he didn't have that finessed/fudged title, Margrethe couldn't have married him. Hopefully, that changes when Frederik and Mary's children are old enough to get married, particularly Christian.
