Weed eater tips and tricks plus Stihl C 26-2 auto feeder full review 

First time viewer here. I love you you put it to the test and not just done one lawn or 10 minutes with it. I got the the 94rc-e the other day and I went all out and got the auto cut head and the pro line too. I use to do my lawn with a bent shaft hardware store brand trimmer with a cut to length head ( 14 inch line at a time ). So while it’s the same weight at my much smaller trimmer it’s weighted differently. So something I’ll just have to get use to and the new head I’m loving it, as I don’t have to stop and put new line in. And I put new pro line in the head, I only put maybe 9-10 foot in as I didn’t want to over load it. The line comes out smooth with one or two taps. As a person who has a new found love of doing the lawn but also have serious back issues, the light weight of both the trimmer and the head. Thanks for pointing out the flaw. I’ll definitely be aware of it from now on. Really appreciate the review and being honest. Definitely will be watching more of you vids

Great Video. I have the Echo P-225 and I love the auto feed on it. String on it will last about a month before I have to feed it again. I’m trimming roughly 8000 sq ft. I love it

Thank you for the information and tips. I first time owner of the fs 131 and a 15year old fs 450. It’s got that same mowing head on it. The white part came loose once when I bumped the head to advance the string. The spring and the string spool fell out. Thankfully I was pressing the gas on low throttle the parts simply fell on the ground a few inches from the gear head. I can’t imagine what would have happened at full throttle. Another thing I noticed with this head is that it causes excessive vibration when one side of the string breaks off. I’ve never had this issue with the older model head on the fs 450. Just had to replace my trimmer, it came with the C 26-2 head and I was not sure how it worked, thanks for the info, ALSO thanks for some of the trimming tricks. I'm not sure I will ever use them just because of the nature of what I need to cut but it is always nice to learn something new. Stay safe and well hydrated and please use ear protection.

The one thing to keep in mind is NOT to let the string get too short. As the string wears down it is actually spinning faster. The faster revs it makes heats the line and tends to melt the line making it difficult to advance the feed.

I try out all kinds of different trimmer setups and have been going back n forth deciding which head to stick with and buy more of. After watching your video you have me convinced to keep my Stihl Speed Head and setup more trimmers with it. Thanks

Oh boy, the engineer in me says you shouldn’t be throwing expensive equipment on the ground like that. I’m guessing that wasn’t even a design consideration when they made that.

Hey man I have a Stihl fs56 string trimmer it's a awesome string trimmer it runs like a del Mar string trimmer it's amazing how my Stihl fs56 RC string trimmer runs it drink gas like crazy but it's worth the money every dime love it

You have a new subscriber. I like your attitude and presentation. I just replaced the string on mine today and am way happier with that process and the overall performance of the Stihl C26-2, it beats the crabgrass out of every other head I have bought for my old Stihl FS55R.

The next time one of my "25-2s" needs an eye or a cap I might try one of these. Not much for the color of the thing however. It is always going to look dirty. But that cap coming off is an issue. Great way to loose the eyelets.

It was awesome in the beginning out of package. The hand feeding was ok for awhile then got difficult. Winding was easier done with the palm.

It does seem to handle great but damn, you’re a pro with that trimmer 👌🏼

That's not a flaw. You should never drop your equipment on the ground like that, period. Take care of what pays you and it will last a lot longer and you will spend less money on parts/equipment which will inturn increase your bottom line(profit).

Fair review going to dealer sick of loading old head

I don't think the defect would be a problem when its in use, the force is applied in a different direction when the head is spinning. I am concerned about how long the head will last with that defect though, at some point its gotta stop working properly. Thanks for the BYD, I look forward to more like it in the future. and great string trimming skills man!

They have replacement eyelets as well.

been running stih as long as I can remember. Do you run this head or the previous version with the larger bump knob? Curious to know how these held up. I thought you would say the defect was the bump on the newer one wears down quicker. curious to know if it held up? Thanks!

I tried the speed feed 400 but it was too small. Now I have the larger high capacity 450 speed feed head on my 90R. It glides over the lawn.I still have the autocut head on my 80R. I love my 80 so much I restored it.

I've purchased one it have some kind of distinctive rattling or some type of shaking to it when started

Did you soak the string in lukewarm water for at least 24 hours? I just learned about it a week ago. I’ve been weed trimmer for a long time and I was surprised about that. Even if the string is brand new and not sitting on the self too long, it becomes dry and brittle so when you soak the string in water the string will absorb the water and become moist and as good as it was the day it was made!

Hey, how an that be a designed flaw coming apart when you drop it? Does the instructions saw drop it instead of sitting the weed eater down like a normal person would? The engineers who designed the C-26-2 cutting head never meant for it to be dropped after every use!

So when the line breaks leaving none protruding from the head can it be stripped down for retrieval.

I haven't had that problem yet

Toward the end it looks like the head got chewed up by the concrete bumping. Curious to see how long it lasts.

The echo speed feed is the best imo.

I just picked up a new stihl fs 56 rc-e and it came with the autocut head on it. I was wanting a echo srm 225 but the store was sold out, I'm hoping I made the right choice. How is the autocut head working out for you now that you've had it for awhile?

So you buy the Stihl version costing ( UK ) £23, £29 with postage or a rip off that displays same pic. For £13 post free. Your average concrete garden gnome should be able to figure that the Chinese manufacturer, who makes both is rebranding the thing and undercutting Stihl massively. Typically the Chinese are literally given the technology with option to springboard, the manufacturing facility, free product promotion and an inbuilt undeniable undercut sale option. China is stealing Western technology, yeah, tell me about it and MAGA
