Thanks man! This is definitely the toughest part. I’m very dependent on getting good sleep in order to function well and be able to work the amount of hours that I do each week. Today is my first day back to work for the rest of the year and I’m very nervous about it. But I know it will be fine. I just have a lot to think about.

Hey man, thank you so much for the kind words! I made it through the whole night with no problems! Of course, some random person that we know at the very end of the night bought me a shot of tequila while I was performing and was trying to get me to take it. But I gave it to our (Drummer). It was a good night all in all.

:) yes its amazing to see how many people are in similiar positions with their addiction to weed. Today I've made it to 4:40 pm and counting with no weed in my system. Like you said I guess the weeds chemicals are still in my brain altering my thoughts but I'm happy with what I've accomplished. My opinion of what weed does for me has been changing for the better. I know how it keeps me from getting to where I want to be. I think the high THC weeds I was on kept me from hitting my r.e.m. sleep. I haven't slept well for a long time. One of the reasons I will quit weed... Hope you have a better sleep tonight.

Keep going man. You definitely do have a unique perspective and are at the very least helping me keep my dry January going. This is the first weekend in almost a year I haven't drank. I drink semi responsibly, but as I get older it is beginning to have some health effects. My liver enzymes are borderline and I waste a ton of time when I drink even a bottle of wine or six pack dealing with a hangover. I'm a productive person and I exercise regularly and I notice my heart rate climbs quickly when exercising a day or two after drinking even that much that evening. I'm also a former 15-year pot smoker, but that was easier for me when I took a long time off just not wanting to use old sketchy contacts to get it. Then when I tried it again, I felt like I had a psychotic break. So, that was easy for me. Others aren't as lucky in one way but that's when I started drinking regularly. Thank you for posting these. I feel like even if we relapse, any time spent sober is better than none. Thank you again.

Totally man! If I relapse, I will be open and honest about it on here. That’s the whole point. And I definitely see what you mean about the alcohol stuff. I never was much of a drinker until last time that I stopped smoking weed and then I started Drinking way too much. I felt it affecting my heart and my whole body just felt like there was a weird poison in it. I’m proud of you for being here, and I support your journey of sobriety. Please keep checking back in. Stay strong. It will get better! You did music before you startet doing weed, right? Maybe you can focus on that sometimes. I also go up on stage in front of drunk people every night. It's weird and I drink a lot of Alc- free Beer at the moment. Kind of calms me down. My nicotine addiction is really bad ar the moment but I give me some time with that. Quitting alcohol, weed and other drugs is hard enough. It's over three months now and at least I sleep ok, not good, most nights. But it's worth it for me. My career as a Stand-Up Comic is getting better and better. Got a lot of paid gigs recently.
@Quittingtogether
@Quittingtogether 7 месяцев назад
I totally did music before weed, but it feels like a distant memory at this point. And I most certainly never did it to this level professionally. Do you feel that going sober has helped your stand-up comedy? That’s an art form I’ve been looking to get into lately, and I feel as though when I’m sober, the words and thoughts come to my mind much quicker than when I’m on substances.
@MrTurbObrown
@MrTurbObrown 7 месяцев назад
@@Quittingtogether fortunately it helps my Comedy a lot that I am sober now. I can remeber my material better and I'm overall more present which helps me with my Crowdwork. Also it helps to do comedy about getting sober. I always think about what's funny about my struggles. People are usually very supportive when I talk about quitting on stage. I sometimes drank at shows where I was hosting to get more relaxed but it worked only sometimes and then I often kept drinking afterwards. It was never worth it. A lot of people who didn't know that I quit drugs and alcohol came up to me like: "What happened? How did you become so much better so fast?" That's the biggest motivation for me. I found my passion very late in life (at 36) and felt behind younger Comics a lot. But now I can see that I have enough time left in my life. And I can kind of live from Comedy already. I'am so grateful for that and drugs can definetly destroy that for me. So I will stay strong even if it's so hard sometimes. I truly believe that youre music and overall creativity will improve by youre abstinence over time!

@@notmyrealname2530 Hey friend. I have some information that could help you break free from the t. H. C. It was a hard struggle, but I finally have my freedom. CBD was the only way I was able to manage the insomnia withdrawal symptoms. It saved me. I also no longer do C. B. D. There's no withdrawal symptoms with sleep issues with C. B. D, but it helps with sleep issues of T HC withdrawal. RU-vid, does CBD help with THC withdraw. But you need to watch that video first for safety and special considerations. You also need omega threes. Omega 3 is especially crucial for repairing your cannabinoid receivers. Lastly exercise. Very important to exercise even if you're tired.
