There is a teacher leader in K who has been SO kind, helpful, and giving of her time to make sure myself and my teammate have all of our questions answered. My partner teacher and I are the only first grade teachers and both in our first year of teaching, so we're in this together! Thank you for encouraging me to reach out and not feel ashamed of needing help, Danny. Amazing advice. I am so fortunate to have this community to lean on as well!

I suggest making a separate video about your daily outfits. Male teachers like me feel out of place and awkward sitting through that. I’m here for the teaching ideas and to provide help when I feel like I could be of assistance, so an outfit of the day wouldn’t appeal to me even though your outfits are cute.

@@puttingthemfirst - Lauren, This is excellent advice from Aly P ! There is another you tube teacher that I think is quite amazing, too. I sent her some things that were on her wish list as well, this year. Her channel is something like "Fab Teacher - Miss May in Texas". I will check to see the exact wording of her channel but I think you will be able to find her if you haven't already. She has taught first grade for approx 10 - 13 years, . and she gives very realistic advice. And she is so energetic and enthusiastic like you ! She seems to really reach her kids and knows a lot about each child that she has. And as Aly P said that your students will "be the ones that help you make it through". I would add to that they are the ones to guide you when you KNOW you are reaching them and doing a good job with them. If you have not already watched Tiffany May's channel - Fab Teacher" channel I would encourage you to do so. Just one example of her many tips for any teacher - not just first year teachers is that she even advises teachers to not eat lunch in the teachers' lounge. No kidding ! When I was teaching many years ago (I'm retired at 72) my principal wanted his teachers to eat together in a cramped room with lunch trays in our laps (no tables) which are not very easy to manage ! But Tiffani (sp?) says you need to have time to catch a breath before you finish the rest of the day and stay away from the negative or bragging teachers etc. really ! I could have used that advice when I was teaching !!! All you young girls have so many nice teaching materials than we ever did. We never had things like Dollar Tree or Target Dollar Spot but then I am from an era of no computers and no cell phones !!!. At my school, the bulletin board paper and colored paper that we had always faded and could not make it through a whole year before it looked terrible and you could hardly read the words or see the pictures. And we only had contact paper to try to protect what we had spent a lot of time making but it was not clear - had a hazy look and it would wrinkle and bubble and it would still fade - too ! AND BTW - I am still teaching - adults this time about budgeting and credit scores in a homeless shelter for single mothers ! So ..... I was actually a gator cheerleader during my time at UF, and today is very sad for me not being with my team down in Orlando on the sidelines. You know I'll be chomping up a storm here in MA! My boyfriend and I met at UF (he was a basketball player), were long distance for 4 years while I completed my B.Ed. & M.Ed., and his job brought us up this way. Him first, then me once I graduated.
