The reason why I like defensor/Bruticus is they have a diverse combining team. Each limb is a different vehicle so figure wise your getting something different between each limb figure. Also that in recent years we got a really good Bruticus and the MMC defensor looks very promising

Never understood the “nothing combiner” when Computron is arguably more forgotten and just there.

This video reminded me of that old commercial with the combaticons and Bruticus being introduced with a rap.

I took a hobby knife and some shock oil to Streetwise's arms to fix that problem. They don't really need to lock in on the track because they lock in other places, so having them loose isn't a big deal.

I envy you doing that with the hands. My friend called me and I had to bring my toolkit over just to unscrew the hands off. Real shame it really was an interesting design ruined by some engineering and certain design flaws

It would be interesting to see modern media use Defensor a lot more than just some random stories. If Volcanicus can get enough love in modern day to have two toys, though both aren't great. Ones a very sub par combiner, and the other is a kids toy that looks silly. Then Defensor sure as hell deserves some more love. I like the design quite a bit, I just love rescue vehicles. Although the weirdest choice is making a motorcycle a limb... I've seen cop bikes and while they're big for motorcycles, they for sure wouldn't make a good leg when everyone else is a much larger vehicle. But mass shifting is a thing that they use, so Groove get's a pass I suppose

Defensor is always “the other one” which is a shame because he is probably one of the best combiners to me. While the Motorcycle being a leg is a stupid thing, I like that every limb is completely different. I don’t like to get repaints/slight remolds so thats a big thing for me.

Reminds me of Michael Bay designs, which I think makes the design more visually appealing

I don’t have a single combiner from Combiner Wars other than Orthia, but if I had the money, I would definitely pick up Defensor and whatever the Rust Renegades combine into, I forgot.

I always found Defensor the be more coherent a combiner design than most while being less dull in the limbs than Superion, personally. The rescue vehicle color scheme made the limbs color match decently with the unapologetic sky blue to turquoise fire truck torso. As for to vid's question, part of me would like to see the next one for Big Bois 2 be the Generation Toy Guardian (Defensor) but as fun as watching your response to the panel-ey mess that is their Hotspot would be, it's neither easy to find nor reasonably priced for that payoff. So with that in mind, my educated guess on who the next one will be is Combiner Wars Abominus.

Despite them being the prequel rescue bots (really, they can be triple/quadruple changers when ever they want to, even transforming into dinosaurs, but they can’t combine?), the build looks more like a hazard.

I got an NBK devastator, it looks cool, and scales with war for Cybertron. But you can't touch it. As soon as you touch it, it falls apart. Because it looks so cool, every kid that comes in my house tries to play with it, and the thing just disintegrates!

Since Hasbro is remaking Menasor, I’m hoping for a new take on Defensor too

The new MMC looks like it has the feet integrated chicken leg style into hot spot. I actually thought that was a good design choice on this version as well as I see it being fairly difficult to integrate a foot into either groove or streetwise like they did with brawl and swindle.

Honestly I like the look of the defensor.

Imma be real with this figure, usually I'm pretty lenient with Combiners because they are hard to do...but those limbs, god they're bad. However, it's not forbthe reason you think. They Aesthetically collide with the Torso which is surprisingly Clean, if the torso would've been a little messy, it'd probably make the limbs be less of an eyesore.

I own the CW version of Defensor with the deluxe class Groove, but I do like the look of this one. If you ever change your mind on the idea of a collection tour, I would love to see it!

I personally find the groove limb distractingly weird in a negative way, the calf of the limb looks like it exploded. Also at 7:43 I thought defensor was doing the 👌 LOL

*Perspective:* 5:05-5:12 Except he's unstable NOT because he is utilizing partsforming, it's because SOMEBODY in the design process thought that using F%cking ball joints to hold up ALL of that weight and size was actually a good idea. *SPOILER ALERT:* As the video shows, it clearly wasn't. That and the fact that this is an oversized Knock Off of the original Maketoys Guardia probably can account for both the ankle looseness and the ULTRA stubborn wrist sliders. In my experience with using the Perfect Effect hand and foot upgrades on my G2 Bruticus, the ball jointed feet quickly had their tolerances completely butchered and my poor Dudicus kept wanting to lean both forwards and backwards and ended up taking a shelf dive in the process. This is the reason why Perfect Effect retooled their upgrades during Power of the Primes to remove the ball joints in the ankles in favor for a simple hinge pivot instead.

The original was CHUG scale, not Legends scale. Maketoys made a few CHUG scale combiners long before Combiner Wars.

Streetwise: Jake? Get the Dremel. Kidding aside. That would be my recommendation to fix that joint. A quick 10 sec to widen the track and you are good to go.

I am still very excited for mmc Defensor. I know he isn’t the most interesting combiner but it’s mmc so I think they will make an amazing set.

Overall the combined mode looks pretty good, as do the individual figures, too bad about Streetwise's arms though. This isn't really a problem with the figures, it's more a problem with the character design itself, but how the heck is a bicycle supposed to hold up an ambulance, a helicopter, and a fire truck? Lol

I knew from the get go that you would have mixed feelings for this set because I played with my friend's Menasor and I knew that you'll encounter some sort of tolerance foible. As for my experience with it, it's the left arm in the combined mode that's foible. The rest, including the part you called the "motherfucker" part functioned well enough. EDIT: Defensor.

Well, nobody said that the Maketoys transformations *always* made sense...poor Streetwise. And upsizing doesn't always work, either. (Jinbao's KO of MMC Feral Rex comes to mind; there's some simplifications to the designs of the individual critters, and the heads are laughably too big.) On the other hand, if I didn't already have the Combiner Wars version (First Aid, Rook, Streetwise, a shitty copy of Blades, and supplemented by the Cool Become Brave KOs of Unite Warriors Hotspot & Groove), I think that the Maketoys version would be a pretty awesome one to get...if it weren't for the existence of the MMC one. 😏😏😏 Amusingly, nobody's ever KO'd their Computron or Devastator. (Then again, it seems there's next to no love for Computron - nobody's KO'd the Hasbro CW, Takara UW, or the Warbotron WB03, either...)

Personally I think defensor is my favorite combiner. All of the individual bots are really cool to me, my favorite being first aid. Defensor himself has a unique personality, a guardian who cares more about humans than the other autobots is really interesting to me.its really a toss up between him and bruticus. I think bruticus is the cooler combiner but I prefer the protectobots much more( i dunno blast off and brawl are just kinda nothing characters to me)
