We visited San Miguel for the first time in 2007. It was suppose to be a one month, one time only visit. We have visited it every year since and now own our own home here. We split our time between San Miguel and Canada! San Miguel has a magnetic personality and it just draws you in and t go! Although there have been many changes we still love it here!
It’s definitely on my ongoing “to visit” list! I’ve heard about it for a long time actually - decades - from artist friends in Québec... Fun fact: the city and I have the same initials (SMA), which is rare, maybe it’s some sort of sign? 🤔🙃🍀 Lovely Alex, it’s hardly a surprise you readily find friends wherever you find yourself.... you radiate warmth and genuine all-around sweetness! 🥰
In 2018, Jan and I were married in Saint Paul's, the beautiful, English speaking, Anglican church there. After, drinks on the magical rooftop of the Rosewood Hotel. On this next March 4th, we will travel there from Juriquilla to receive our Mexican residency there. SMA, undoubtably, has many charms, but, ultimately, we choose Querétaro as home.
My girlfriend and I have been in Guanajuato City for the last week and really love it. We originally booked 5 nights, but extended 2 more. It is our first time to this region. We leave tomorrow for 4 nights in San Miguel and then the tentative plan is 4 nights in Queretaro. We will be flying back home out of Mexico City on the 11th. We could add a night in San Miguel which would leave only 3 in Queretaro. What would your opinion be if you get time to respond? Our interests are to see a few sights but not be in any kind of a hurry or pack too much into each day, mostly enjoy the culture and explore the area, eat different places and maybe a drink or two each night. We know very little about Queretaro, more or less have planned all this last minute and on the fly. Will check out more of your videos. Muchas Gracias!
Me da esperanza jeje. Si tienes tiempo, puedes comprobar tu email? Te he enviado algo sobre un viaje a Mexico que viene. Gracias de antemano.
Alex! I just found your channel and love this one! My husband and I are planning to visit SMA next summer. Would love to watch more videos from you! Sigue divirtiendote y pasándola bien! Saludos desde California 💜
@@alex-wittman we just finished building a house for our family and friends and we are now working on our house so it was lots of friends and family and not much going out. I have spent the last week detoxing 😜 I can't wait to explore the vineyards🍷
Hi Alex, I have just got my permanent residency visa and coming to Mexico! Can you tell me that gestor you recommended to assist with the canje at INM please? Looking forward to coming over and hopeful to meet you and your Querétaro tribe at some point! :-)
@@alex-wittman by the way, which is the best cell phone sim card to get in México? Would be good to know if you recommend one... maybe you could do a video about best Mexican sim cards and how much data you get etc. Just a thought!..
While you were in the state of Guanajuato and more precisely in San Miguel de Allende, have you visited Guanajuato (city), León, Irapuato, Celaya, Moroleón, Acambaro, San Francisco del Rincón???? Etc..
Camera in one hand, glass of wine in the other, and a big smile on your face. Perhaps you should do that more often! I have two questions, please. First, what is the weather like in San Miguel? Is it year round spring-like weather typical of other highland places? Second, what is the common language used by your group of friends? Is it English, Spanish, or a mix? I ask because in my experience, having a common language comfortable for everyone in the group is key. Cheers.
It was much MUCH colder this weekend in San Miguel than Queretaro, but I'd say overall yes, similar highland climates. It can get pretty hot in April and May! The common language is very much a mix. For example, I speak English with Louise (she's Canadian) & Spanish with Pau (she's queretana), but Pau also speaks English so sometimes I might say something to her in English and she will respond in Spanish. We've definitely found what works for our group!
Looked like so much fun! Last year we traveled a lot through Mexico and I have never seen a heater in a Air bnb! Can’t tell you how many cold nights we stayed in beautiful homes lol. I now only rent small places. Can’t believe we missed San Miguel and Queretaro, my hubby hometown is only a few hours from San Miguel de Allende! We were gonna go but we instead went to Morelia and other places. Have you been to Morelia? ❤️
I love your videos (plus Congrats), but I envy you...right now in Metro Detroit the temperature is 19 degrees Fahrenheit. You are truly a fearless woman with all your exploits. Gracias.
great video its such a shame to see such heavily masked, plexi glassed and gloved servers. Especially at out door fresh air venues. good to kow distances to and from by timeframe too, thanx.
