What you don't understand is that's the point. Increased spending power for the lower class would mean more inflation, so the cost of loans would have to go up to compensate and keep inflation down. Leveraging low-interest loans is extremely financially beneficial to the wealthy to build wealth faster. They don't care if minimum wage jobs don't pay enough to both have a place to sleep and eat. The poor can die for all they care, so long as they can generate wealth faster.

It's a fallacy anyway. Paying workers more wouldn't magically create more money, it would just shift which people get the profits from the business. In most cases, it would actually _drop_ inflation, as those workers are more likely to have to spend their earnings than a business owner who most like would drop the money into a secure account and forget about it.

Inflation is a confluence of demand and unmet supply driving prices up as markets can raise prices without lowering sales volume. (That is, incidentally, why we're currently experiencing so much inflation. It's a consequence of our economy doing so well. Pandemic and ongoing wars have ruined supply lines and products are in short supply but jobs have bounced back so people have money to spend on products that aren't there.)
